Salamat Fern sa pag-feature ng mga historical buildings and residences... malaking challenge ang pag redevelop ng building dahil sa ang paligid nito ay tinambayan na ng maraming tao at sasakyan. It will take a great deal of political will upon the Mayor of Manila na i-relocate ang mga illegal settlers, at mga sasakyang nakatambak sa area. But since nadedevelop na rin ang katapat na building... surely maaayos din yang area. Malaking challenge din yung spaghetti wires dahil internet, phone, cable and power lines yan to adjacent buildings and other establishments. Sad to say mahina ang political will ng incumbent mayor... pero hopeful ako na maayos din yang area na yan kaya pagtulungan po nating ipaglaban ang preservation and appropriate redevelopment para ma-preserve pa rin to some extent ang ating cultural heritage

This building has beautiful structure & details. It will be a lost in the history of the Phil if this will be demolish. Lets hope they can restore this soon and not wait to deteriorate. It would be nice to make it as a hotel with redto and cafe. Salamat Fern for todays upload 😊

Sana magkaroon ng batas na kapag ang isang historical building ay hindi narestore ng mga pribadong kompanya o individual na nakabili meron dapat time frame for the government to take back the property. Sa ngayon pinababayaan nung nakabili yan property para in the future meron na sila dahilan para gibain ang building ☹😢.
El Hogar is still standing because everyone, not just the government, actually cares about what happens to their heritage. I suggest repurposing it into a boutique hotel. It can totally pull it off with its elegant European charm and, (as you just showed), has an amazing view of the river. Totally off-topic, I noticed in the opening montage around 1:52 the theater (this was the 1940's Cine Oro in Plaza Sta. Cruz, I believe) is showing a Captain Marvel feature. Marvel Comics and its MCU movies are big these days and I'm so happy see it part of historic Manila.

It is a source of great annoyance to witness the presence of homeless people camping around the ancient building. I was under the impression that the illegal settlers had already been relocated to designated areas for proper placement. Furthermore, the constant belching sounds emitted by the passing Jeepneys create a significant amount of noise pollution in the area. Having resided abroad since 2009, I have not heard such sounds from any vehicles other than those in the Philippines. As a result, I have become increasingly intolerant of the noise, which has become a major irritant. I sincerely hope that the Manila government will take steps to address this issue by eliminating the kind of Jeepneys that are not only noisy but also driven recklessly.
