The genius of Sasha is that he can articulate a persona in such a stereotypical way that is entirely intentional that you can see both see it and yet laugh at the dark humour behind. truly a genuinely smart man

What makes Parky such a fantastic interviewer is that he is genuinely interested in everyone he meets. No matter who you pair him with, he will selflessly bring out the best of the other person whether it be the inner truths of someone's dark past, or Cohen's genius humour as in this clip.

Sacha has a great talent for improvising. It's hard for me to imagine how Sacha stays in character so well. Oh wait, or is Ali G in character playing Sacha Baron Cohen? Or it's Borat playing Ali G then playing Sacha Baron Cohen?
Sacha Baron Cohen is a comedy genius and possibly one of the best character actors around today.

I think the point is that as a part of his 'Da Ali G show' he travelled to America several times. It was apparent from the guests and the ratings that American people and audiences didn't understand his style of comedy as Ali G. Funny though that his 'Bruno' sketch (The worst he ever did) sat really well in America. The problem is that Americans in general are so literal they don't understand subtle comedy (which is the funniest sort) because then they would have to think for themselves. (not every American- just most of them unfortunately) (BTW sorry it is 2 years late)

Parts are parts aren't things like ali listing all the gang signs after he asks about buraka sha is scripted but probably a lot isn't. Also all his interviews with random people are unscripted

It must be just me, but this scripted comedy act didnt do it for me. I normally like Ali G but it would've worked better as a normal ad lib interview....
He dodsnt just come out with 'ad libs' in his other interviews, he has a back catalogue of pre scripted comebacks stored in his head. Thats how it works. That is the genius of the man. The thing is, he is on parkinson, so he gad to be carefull what he said.
