Hello from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 why don’t you do up these vans properly by welding them properly and making them look good again. I don’t understand why you just Bodge them up instead of doing a proper job/repair.
@richardnewman8983 you're welcome to come over and weld this one up for me. In reality, it's a time thing. I don't have time to fix everything all at once. Let's get this one running and driving first. Let's use it make sure nothing goes wrong, then maybe we can restore it properly. Also I don't mind the "patina" look either. Anything is better than a rust hole. I took the time this year to weld up my 05. Next year will be my 90 and 98 caravans... then we will see where I'm sitting with everything else. Also we don't have to have it all pretty for MOTs like you guys do. I hope that makes sense. Thanks again for watching on the other side of the pond. (:
@peachyclean93 haha I don't mean to be sassy. (OK maybe a little bit) But it's in good fun. If i had all of the time and money in the world, I would absolutely make all of my vans 'perfect' again. But that's unrealistic. So instead I make them all drivable and fix what I can when I can.
Love how the channel is growing. I love that your taking these vans and restoring them. It's sad that people just treated them like a throw away van. I love this generation of these vans. Much support from over here in La Crosse, WI. And I love the Vice Grip Garage Hat!!!
Great job i remember back in 1993 i rented the same exact caravan. To go with family to great adventure, we'll never forget the memories. Thank you for your videos.
Good morning wow that van don’t have much rust on it to bad about the rockers but wow lots of mice nests in there and can’t wait till you get it all back together and se it then nice video thanks
It’s coming together nicely ! I take it , you replaced the dashboard entirely . Did you rust proof the inside / body side panels where you put the license plates ? I think this van will make a good winter beater.. still rust proof it 2x a year.. and power wash it lots.. should last you many winters if you choose to do so .
@462ANIMAL i didn't replace the dash. I had it out and thoroughly cleaned it. Yes I filled the rockers and wheel arches from the inside while the trim was out.
@ cool ! What year is your favourite ? I remember test driving a customers caravan, blue 90’ in the winter. There was a noise every time you would stop fast. It was coming from the sliding door . Turned out to be a huge chunk of ice ! Over 1ft long and 8” thick ! Lol
@@MNMoparMinivan I think I’d rather have a 90 , just more old school .. nothing like the feeling of living back the those days . Just like if you drive something from the 60’s or 70’s or 80’s . I would definitely drive that woody caravan you found.. that you need to go get ! Lol
@dannycohen8870 she's beat lol. 241k Keep fighting the oil cooler lines leaking, burns a decent bit of oil, body mounts are shot, frames getting a bit crunchy, and most crucial, its starting to drop a few cylinders at low rpm when it gets hot. Not to mention it's a half ton pulling a fullsize trailer when it really shouldn't be.
Okay finished the video, it's another good one. Where do you get your fluid film, do you get a gallon at a time and what do you use to apply it? Oh and where do you get your seam sealer? Thanks. Happy Motoring.
@mostlymoparih5682 i think I bought the seam sealer from Eastwood. I have a gallon bucket of fluid film i use with a brush to do inner wheel arches, etc. Otherwise I prefer the spray cans. I buy it on Amazon.
@@MNMoparMinivan Got another question for ya. If you remove the interior molding on let's say the passenger side and the molding by the tailgate, would there be room to drop the headliner down without having to take the molding off the other side???
I'd go with a wire wheel (cup) on the grinder - less damage / scoring / gouging to the metal and works great for the surface rust. Dont bother with the ones for a drill - not enough RPM.
@@MNMoparMinivan the previous owner knocked 2 holes in the firewall for heater hoses into the van and a rad w fan from like an old tractor or something. sad to cause it has 54k miles on it
One thing I hate about Dodge they always change something a year after I remember grabbing a radiator from an 03 Grand Caravan to put in my 05 and found out that was not the exact same Dodge most have change the radiator design in 04
I'm still scratching my head why they threw in an Infiniti sound system power locks and cruise control but no power windows and overhead console I don't understand 🤣🤣 the first owner must have had the van ordered that way..

I hope the “new” red interior matches up well, at least there wasn’t much rodent damage on this van
@@seanguy9720 I was suprised there wasn't more. Maybe the mice didn't like the mold either lol
