    Great game , I was there . At 26minutes 45 seconds Martin Offia was no longer “the fastest man in Rugby League” , when Andrew Ettingshausen ran from the other side of the field covering far more distance than Offia to tackle him out of the field of play . I still talk about that when conversation goes to Rugby League . 🤩🇦🇺🎊

      Running without the ball has every player faster by way of sprinting technique than with the ball .
      It's not an accurate comparison.
      ET was midfield as well.

    Watched my brother play beside Jacko (RIP) in the centres through juniors in rep teams...i was a big fan then, my brother always maintained he was destined to play for Australia...he was great in this game and from memory was great in the origin series preceeding

      Got to play a round of golf with Jacko probably about a year and a half before he passed, just me and his brother in law. 1 of the best days in my life we just laughed the whole 18 holes, I've met plenty of footballers but none of them came close to Jacko just a humble and funny man and was genuinely interested in my life and what I had to say

    The good old tough rugby league days of the 1990's was always my favorite football era.Gillespie,Linder,Sironen,Harrigan,Clyde are my favorite hard men but also loved the great britain pack,they were tough as.

    Crazy to think that international Rugby League has not grown one inch since then...
    In fact we'd be lucky to get a quarter of that crowd today to turn up and watch an international

      @J G not likely. The fact that soccer is the number 1 football code throughout the world is irrelevant - rugby league and AFL are the dominant football codes in Australia, and that is highly unlikely to change.

    Paul Harrogan had probably the biggest breakout season in RL history to earn himself a spot in this team.

      I’m a Queenslander but chief was a beats. That whole 90-94 blues team was beats. Stuart doesn’t get the respect he deserves. Chief, Lazo, sirro and roberts plus Clyde and Elias. In the pack. Is there a better pack in history?

    some great tests between the two sides between 1990 and 1995. Australia just had the edge when it really mattered but the Brits never gave an inch during that period led to some great contests and still a time when the Biff was well and truly allowed.

    Legends star studed line up what a game that was back in the day.Glen lazzarus was badly concused earlier in the game but kept on playing should've come off you could see he was struggling really bad ,players were tough buggers back then ,im glad the rules have changed on concussions and head high shots.
    Its better for the greatest game of all

    This is a different commentary lineup than what we got on Channel 7 in Sydney, which was made up of, from memory Graeme Hughes, Roy Masters, Jon Harker & Pat Welsh?

      Yeah says something about Peter Jackson to push Daley into the centres and Fittler off the bench. Renouf got his dues at the end of this year in the World Cup final. I remember his try in the final. Loved the Pearl. Would’ve hated to have been a selector back in these days. Crazy amount of talent on tap.

    Im not ENGLISH but that penalty on Steadman being in front of the kicker was pretty crook! It happens worse than that every time in a NRL game!

    I enjoyed his thoroughly, and it was played about 30 years ago, and I don't have any interest in the game today. I don't know what has happened to the game. Maybe better faster stronger athletes but not as skilled.

    How good was RL back then ?So superior to todays watered down product, i have been watching RL since the mid sixties and can barely watch the game now. Having said that my team Hull KR are at wembley next week, come on the robins !

    This was the Test series where Harrogate ran to the authorities and the Press begging for protection, get that an Ausie Test prop crying that he needed protecting because the GB forwards told him they’d square up after his cheap shot on Ian Lucas had made him a marked man, Martin Dermott and Andy Platt battered him in the next Test Matches!
