82 tour to UK by Australia is the finest example of the game of rugby league. The Australian league team was by far far ahead of Great Britain the entire series Physically far superior fitness level superior on attack and defence all round skills Rugby league is a simple game to play tickle around the leagues, run straight and hard and let the ball do the work, because it is far faster than the man draw and pass draw, tackle tickle and tickle around the leagues, can’t run without leagues Great Britain. Thank goodness about this time or maybe one or two more years. The Australian Australian and the Kiwi rugby league players with the superior fitness taught the English rugby league that fitness especially this series is required at this level Very poor GP side my opinion, 1986 side lots better but never in it. And I’m a Kiwi
@M rugby league is the greatest sport on Earth with over 4 Billion fans and massively popular in over 240 countries including dependencies. soccer/football is only popular in 4 countries. Its a minority sport in the UK, France etc. rugby league will always be the number 1 sport in Australia
Shaun hi,my name is Shaun aswell. Thankyou for the memories, you have given an old man a beautiful night. I am only 50 but was a little boy when I first saw this, thanks bro.
If only we knew the score. Too bad the last ten minutes were cut to bits while all the boring bits of kickers lining up goals were kept in. Still great to see thks.
And don't forget Gary Brentnall in the 1st & 2nd tests 🤣 And in the World Club Championship in 2005 a very promising youngster called Sonny Boy Williams played for the Canterbury Bulldogs! 🤣🤣
''appalling display of sportsmanship by the pom's ''absolutely thrashed by the greatest team to ever wear that kangaroo jersey .'''three ''' ''''nil '''' .lest we forget '''.......
Was there anything more ridiculous in sports than the old rugby league scrum? And a bigger waste of time and space than those penalty goals? Thank goodness they changed the points system, unlike union.
Apparently that sly French referee can't speak English so how does it come to play , he awards a penalty , to Australia marches England a further 10 for verbal back chat. The ref therefore must have an understanding of English .
That was the midset back in those days, if you won the scrum that would give you the 1 percent advantage... all things being equal. But of course the Australians were nowhere near just equal!
As the ref didnt speak english, i thought he did a decent job. As for ray french he always was a crap commentator. His bias to wigan and saint helens was a joke
Rascagneres was damned awful and biased. Hence why he didn't last much as a referee. The French have a tradition of useless/biased and incompetent referees.
These old games and the commentary are pure magic
Peter Stirling my man of the series, outstanding RL player in his prime 😊 as well off the field
Best half back pairing in my time him and kenny
All 3 tests the Australians are at a superior level of fitness and skill. Great to see the English crowd appreciating good football.

Got the original VHS tape of the whole series , came with a genuine full squad photo , it's still in the sleeve , its immaculate
Thanks for sharing. Great and fast football, crisp passing, great backing up. Pity about all the rule changes since.

@M
Nah, they don’t like girlie ball here.
And the bunker
Best touring side i got to see in my time. Went to every test and 4 of the club games. The aussies were way ahead of us and still are.

Whatever happened to that Wayne Lewis bloke, he looked promising? And Greg Brentnall replacing his twin Gary in this test!
Good stuff....

Hard to tackle Kenny when you're running away from him
Steve Evans try wasn't a try, his left arm was in touch.
The commentator kept calling Wally Lewis.....Wayne! What a goose!
They also called Wayne Kelly
And don't forget Gary Brentnall in the 1st & 2nd tests 🤣

Gees, those Touch Judges certainly thought the were there to be the centre of attention, back in those days. Most Rugby Union Refs still do.
So Mal couldn’t make the kicks in those days too huh?
Are you putting the Hull, Wire game on from last night?
Can ya put the hull Warrington match up playoff 2020
14-39 Poor ole Max///he didnt get in any ones way!
Would you ever put on the old super league nines games on this channel. Love all the content too mate
The crowd over dubbed is so obvious.

What DID Greg Brentall DO? To get sent off?
Australia giving them a lesson on how to play. All Great Britain wanted to do was give cheap shots for 3 tests
Apparently that sly French referee can't speak English so how does it come to play , he awards a penalty , to Australia marches England a further 10 for verbal back chat. The ref therefore must have an understanding of English .
What about how the commentators talk about the importance of winning the scrums I don't think that mattered too much as Australia never lost a game
That was the midset back in those days, if you won the scrum that would give you the 1 percent advantage... all things being equal. But of course the Australians were nowhere near just equal!
At 23:12 what's the difference between this kick and Boyd's kick and this player didn't get sent off
Boyd also elbowed the player on the ground when he was sent off
mighty Australian side dripping with silk and skill omg 👍💪✝️😇
Doesn't get more crook referring than that
Only 3 points for a Try back then...?
Who was worse, the French ref or English commentary
This ref is pretty good compared to some I've seen
Both pretty bad but I think the ref wins
the one eyed ockers. stay away from banjos and your sister
@@grahamlowe7388 When you guys learn to play Rugby League come back to me with your comments.
As the ref didnt speak english, i thought he did a decent job. As for ray french he always was a crap commentator. His bias to wigan and saint helens was a joke
both sides poor discipline
Boyd played it hard, NOT dirty, Boyd was then played dirty by THE British. And these commentators are absolute rubbish.
bloody oath mate, remove those green and sister coloured glasses of there mate. strewth.
Rascagneres was damned awful and biased. Hence why he didn't last much as a referee. The French have a tradition of useless/biased and incompetent referees.
Biased to who? And he did continue to referee and did a Illawarra Manly game in Australia
Why are they called "great" Britain???????????????????
Geography dear boy. Do they have schools in the colonies? Put the banjo down.
@@grahamlowe7388 You just doubled down on his ignorance. You should visit Australia, it's very developed.
@@ZiggyStardust49 i used the work there, apart from the wonderful aboriginal culture the only culture there is found in yoghurt.
