- I'm finally making the transition to a journaling Bible so that I have the freedom to write my thoughts right alongside the text! It was scary to open a brand new blank Bible and begin to color and write inside, but I love the end result. I had a hard time choosing a Bible Highlighting/Marking Method and I am testing out a new one this time around! Why did I decide to switch over? Check out my video to find out:)

this isn’t just a philosophy, but it is the truth, and it’s reality. JESUS CHRIST is the Way and the Truth and the Life. (john 14:6). the LORD JESUS CHRIST came unto the earth in the likeness of man and HE took the lowly position of a bondservant (philippians 2:7), not to be served, but to serve, and to give HIS Life as a Ransom for many (matthew 20:28). we are not saved because of our own goodness/works, since no one is good (morally perfect), except One, that is, GOD (mark 10:18), but we are saved by the unmerited love and favor of the LORD through faith in HIM and what HE did for us alone (ephesians 2:4-5). every man is given all he needs to live a Godly life through the knowledge of the LORD (2 peter 1:3). each and every one of us must confess of our sins to the FATHER, we must repent (acts 20:21), and we must strive to live our lives all to the glory of GOD in every aspect (1 corinthians 10:31). if we confess our sins, GOD is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness (1 john 1:9). when you’re a new creation in CHRIST, old things pass away and all things become new (2 corinthians 5:17) and we receive the HOLY SPIRIT in our hearts as a seal and guarantee of what is to come (2 corinthians 1:22)! :D .

Since you like NLT, I wonder if you might like the NIV. The NIV is my personal favorite and there’s a lot more journaling Bible options! God bless you Gabriella ❤
I write and highlight in my Bible all the time. It’s how I study and it helps me when I come back to a place I’ve written.

I have multiple Bibles for different purposes. 😁 I have a particular one dedicated for journaling.
Love that! It is nice sometimes to keep different styles of studying the Bible separate to avoid confusion!

I am really looking forward to studying God's word more and want to get a journaling bible. I also much rather write in the margins that a separate notebook. Can I ask what color are the pages in your new bible, white or cream? My preference is white pages, if possible.
I think you will love it! I'm ready to start my third journaling bible since 2020, and paging through past notes is very encouraging. Adonai has a way of weaving Scriptures into certain things that happen on the same days.

I too have searched for a new journaling Bible and bought the New Living Bible and an NIV which asks questions for you to answer in the margins. We will grow in Understanding when we study God’s Word. Jamie

I love how many different ways there are to study the Bible. I found one where you get bibles at thrift store and you chose a topic to study in that Bible and then make your notes and highlights all revolve around that certain theme, and do that for a different topic in each Bible

I don't have a journaling Bible, per se; I have a couple of wide-margin Bibles that I highlight and write in and use that to teach from (I teach Sunday school). Most of my Bible time is used on Sunday school lessons; not much reading/studying for myself. Would. like to increase that. BTW, I write in pencil with my "teaching" Bibles.
I agree with you about the NLT and I also have a NCV bible I also have a ESV bible but too hard to study for me. I started bible Study and journaling back in April. I was taught not to write in your bible back as a child.
Good for you for starting! It can definitely be a mental change but I think it’s okay to do as we aren’t disrespecting God but growing in our relationship with him further!
Very nice. I just cannot journal. I've tried, it just doesn't work. When I highlight or underline I always use a straight edge. I guess I'm a bit OCD. Like you I have developed a love for the NLT. I was a translation snob for a long time but the NLT cured that. Thanks for letting me interfere with your video. I've been looking at Bible collections. Take care.

That’s awesome haha, it is nice to be able to read and understand what’s really going on without having to think so hard because of the wording. There is enough thinking in the realm of understanding what God is speaking to you in that text.

I have always used a notebook and was very hesitant to underline or write in my Bible, but I did eventually get up the courage. I am still of two minds about it though. I heard someone say recently that they only write in pencil, so they can always erase it if they want to, so I'm currently trying that out. I also have switched from underlining a lot to just circling or colouring the verse number. It looks neater and doesn't really interfere with the actual words of Scripture. You can still colour-code using that method as well.
It’s definitely scary to start writing and highlighting in the Bible! I think whatever you and others are most comfortable with is best, that’s cool that you’re trying out different things to see what fits you best!
I also like to be able to erase what I've written in my Bible, because as a young and immature Christian, I often realize that God has thought me new more balanced and true things. But I found these markers that are erasable by friction, which I find very useful

Hi! It really depends. I wasn’t bringing it to church with me before as I had a different smaller Bible I’d been using for a long time and was transitioning to this one. Now though I’m at university and it’s the only Bible I have so I do bring it to church. It’s bigger so doesn’t really fit in my smaller purse like the other one did but it’s not too bad to carry around in my opinion:)

does marker and pen bleed through? tysm!!
Hi! I tried my best to show the bleed through in the video. It definetly depends on the pen. Gel pens are definetly shadowed on the back but not bleed through. The crayola markers didn’t bleed through unless I went over the same spot multiple times but you could still see the shadow of them on the back.

Certainly they disbelieve who say God is the Messiah son of Mary and the Messiah said oh children of Israel serve God my Lord and your Lord surely whoever associates with God God has forbidden to him the Garden and his abode is the Fire and for the wrongdoers there will be no helpers. Certainly they disbelieve Who say God is the third of the three and there is no God but one God and if they desist not from what they say a painful torment Will surely befall The ones Who disbelieve. Will they not then turn to God and ask his forgiveness and God is forgiving merciful. The Messiah son of Mary was only a messenger messenger‘s before him had indeed come and passed away and his mother was a truthful woman they both used to eat food see how we make the messages clear to them then behold how they are turned away

The NLT is a garbage translation. You should have gotten a CSB.

@@gabriellahope37 The reason I said that about the NLT is because it is a very loose translation. The NLT is not a literal translation for serious study that is close to the original Hebrew and Greek. The ESV or the CSB are much better Bibles to study with. So, I would advise you when studying to always look at one of those!

Praise God for ur vid. Thank u for sharing. NKJV translation is better than NLT. There are NKJV Journaling Bibles. I have 2, soft and hard covers bcuz I’m a Bible lover 🤣🥰 we have to be careful of the different versions of the Bible, some don’t capitalize He, Him when referring to God and Christ.

Yea that’s something I was disappointed in about the NLT is that it didn’t have the capitalization like the NKJV does:/ for me I think it’s mostly worth it as I can understand what the Bible is saying easier I’m NLT but I really wish they had the capitalization!

I cannot bring myself to write, underline or highlight on my bible hhaa i have a separate notebook where i write my thoughts about a chapter
That is totally okay! There’s nothing wrong with writing in a separate place and I did that for a ping time as well before feeling comfortable writing in my Bible.

Yeah I find that having a version that is beat for your reading style is so helpful when reading the Bible! So whatever you think best I thank you should go for it! I’m pretty sure they have those versions!
