They have a long way to go to get even close to the higher tier team. Duclair is a great signing but sorry he’s not a first line wing he’s a solid second line wing. Only way this team gets better is getting rid of Lou. Then probably a rebuild. If anyone knows islanders history they have NEVER landed a big name through F/A it’s usually through trades. Lou is terrible. This team is a bottom playoff early exit team. They’ll be lucky they place 7th or 6th spot let alone 8th seed in playoffs then they’ll be out in 5-6 games. This team is a joke

See the difference is GMs the rangers and devils see a need and fill it, Lou sees a need and signs a washed up vet for 8 yrs and no trade clause. So yeah I think rags and devs are better or at least should be better. Unless you think Duclair is the savior?

No I’m not cynical I just know hockey I mean I’m not a gm but if you watch the nhl not just one team you will know the devils biggest Achilles heel was goalie and defense especially on the experienced end and they fixed (on paper as of right now) it.
