Written by Chris Martin (Coldplay), the song was first performed live by Coldplay in 2002. Ultimately, Martin gave the song to his personal friends Embrace. "Gravity" peaked at #7 on the UK Singles Chart for Embrace.

This song came to me at a time I was feeling lost, lonely and depressed. Funny how songs can bookmark such significant times in your life. This song helped me immensely. Much gratitude.

Love the Embrace version. But you can nearly hear Chris' heart break, when he sings this song. Haven't heard it for a while, but I guess for the next weeks it will be no. 1 in my playlist. Thanks Coldplay for this beautiful, heartbreaking piece of music.

takes me back to the bootleg downloads time. I heard this song prior to X&Y and I actually have never heard the "Embrace" one. wish coldplay still made this soulful music instead of releasing a new chainsmokers colab every 2 months

The "You and I..." line sounds awful compared to "You and me..."
I think he was originally supposed to say "looked up at the sky and saw the sun and the way that gravity pulls on every one" but he messed up and switched sky and sun and ended up singing "looked up at the sun and saw they sky" therefore he said you and i to make it rhyme
