Goddess hestia sacrificial animal is the pig.
The pig fat is use for sacrificial animals.
Because of this each time a sacrifice was made hestia would receive a shear of each sacrificial made to each God/Goddess.
This episode signifies this very well.
Hestia is the firstborn child of Cronos and Rhea in the Olympian Pantheon. She remained a virgin specifically to avoid discord in Olympus. She acts like a child but she is one of the top 12 Olympians. In the Danmachi mythology it is mentioned she literally steps down from a throne of power and gives it to Dionysus to prevent war among the gods in heaven. She is very powerful, she just doesn't flex it.
Where did the throne of power thing come from. I only know that Hestia keep messing up Dionysus plan of having the gods kill each other for fun but I don’t remember there being any kind high throne position in heaven.

"Hestia is a wounderful goddess. I'm one of many who have been honored to receive her affection. Words of gratitude cannot begin to repay the debt I owe her from back when we were in the heavens," Dionysus explained in all honestly. "At the time, our territory had a rule to select the Twelve Gods... our representatives. I despaired at not being able to take part, but... then Hestia lent me a hand." In the heavens where gods resided, there were territories similar to the countries of the mortal realm. And those territories had their own rules. Apparently, in their area, being one of the Twelve Gods represented an imporant position without any comparable substitute. And Hestia had relinquished it without a second thought, giving it to Dionysus.

@@Grimlock7 yeah this series is the furthest from real myth. I mean cmon genderbend gods and Hestia and the other Olympian are definitely not Kronos children since gods can’t have those in this series
Hestia’s “power” was very fitting: I don’t know if you knew that but she’s actually one of the original twelve Olympians in Greek mythology (she then “abdicated”, relinquished her place to Dionysus, and then people kinda “forgot” about her) and she was one of the most respected gods in all of the pantheon: Zeus was actually her brother and Hestia was one of the very few people he had an high consideration of (and we know from mythology that Zeus wasn’t exactly known for being respectful and considerate of others)😂
Being Italian I’ll use an Italian expression to describe why this “depiction” of Hestia was extremely fitting: in Italian she’s known as “Dea del Focolare” which roughly translates to “Goddess of the Fireplace”
“Focolare” then became a world that indicated not just the fireplace but all the people gathering around it; this world actually became a synonym (and it’s still used today to indicate) of “House” or “Family”
So, by praying to Hestia, “the goddess of the fireplace” you were essentially asking her to keep your house, your family, your loved ones safe…
In conclusion “fire” and “protection” are two recurring themes whenever it comes to Hestia

I’ve always loved both history and mythology, and being from southern Italy, the heart of what, before Rome, was known as “Magna Graecia” (in Latin “Greater Greece”) I’m quite familiar with both Greek and Roman mythology…
I’ll tell you more: to the Romans Hestia’s name changed (they essentially “copied” Greek divinities, changing their name and sometimes a few attributes) and she became “Vesta”
Here’s why Bell’s technique was named “Argo Vesta” that if wrote “Argo Vestae” would literally translate from Latin to “Vesta’s (Hestia’s) Argonaut”
Moreover in Rome Vesta was such an important figure that she even had her own “priestesses”; they were know as: “Vergini Vestali”, literally “Vesta’s (Hestia’s) Virgins”
They were without a doubt the most important priestesses in Roman history and also the most important and influential women in Roman’s society: they were 3/4 (then they became 6) randomly drawn from a pool of 20/30 candidates (little girls of noble families who were about 10 years old)
Their “service” lasted for 20/30 years and after they were free to live however they liked…
They all had to undergo quite a rigid training, but in Roman society that was EXTREMELY patriarchal they surely were the most free women and had special rights and privileges reserved exclusively for them: they were the only women who could make a will, when they didn’t have to attend their duties in the temple they were free to go out, and when they walked in the streets everyone, including senators and high “magistrates” (in Latin= high ranking government officials) had to step aside and let them through…
They could “bestow their grace” to people who were sentenced to death (like a “presidential pardon”) and many other things
They only had two obligation:
1) Remain virgins
2) NEVER let Vesta’s (Hestia) fire in the temple extinguish, for WHATEVER reason
But even if they “transgressed” these 2 rules and were sentenced to death, they were “special” even in death, because being sacred to Vesta they basically could be touched (let alone murdered) by human hands, so instead of executing them, they were left to starve to death because “no human being could dare to bring death upon them”
I know, the last one is quite creepy😅
But I just wanted to show how much of an importance Hestia had in the ancient world

in the light novel, it was mentioned that there are only the virginal goddesses that can resist freya's divine charm and those are "Hestia, Athena and Artemis" so yeah... Hestia's Flames is so effective in this situation.

Hestia is not weak, in fact all the gods actually respect her just how strong she actually is. She very well known in the heavens to be strong.
IDK if the episode skips it or not, but Horn was kind of implied she was fine Freya feeling that way, what was not fine is Freya was hurting for being a normal girl while her identity as a Goddess, which makes her being a normal girl is impossible. Also, there is one dialogue either they change or skip from Horn.
"If only I've met you first,, I could've make you mine and the Goddess wouldn't lay her eyes on you" or something like that.
and "this is my feeling, me liking you has nothing to do with Goddess' magic" so yeah it is outright confirmed in a way that Horn does also like Bell romantically.
My beloved Vesta finally showed why she's the Goddess of the hearth and SACRED FLAME. Her fire is one that burns away all impurities. Hephaestus's flame is one of the forge, but Hestia's is something that burns even hotter still, an eternal flame.

6:30 Quite sure it's not complex at all. Syr in the tavern who interacted with Bell was always Freya and never Horn.
Horn simply shares all the feelings and memories of Syr.
The only Syr who were Horn that we (the audience) saw was in episode 1 of this season when Syr was asking a request from Freya.
The simple story here is the one you hate the most is often the one you love the most.

I told you guys, I don’t remember if it was 3/4 episodes ago but I wrote a comment in which I said that, for me, Horn wasn’t done yet, because I felt like she still had a part to play, maybe even a crucial one…
And it turns out that I was right, apparently
She was essential in helping Bell FINALLY connecting all the dots together…
And I’m not gonna lie, that scene was heartbreaking, you could see how much she was suffering deep inside and how much she was affected by Freya’s feelings (I feel like at this point she wouldn’t be able to kill Bell even if she tried, as we saw…)
(When Ryu was taken prisoner I had a strange feeling that Horn would have been the one who would have helped her evade)
When Bell was like: “I wonder who this intruder might be…”🤔
I was like :”My dear, realistically it could only be Ryu/Asfi or maybe Ais… But the little green magic sparkles really should make you lean towards the first one…”😂
Not gonna lie, Hestia scene was TRULY BADASS, I literally jumped from my seat😂, one of the most cool and badass scenes I’ve seen in anime recently, I loved it😍❤️
(A bit of justice for Hestia too, because I feel like she gets “mistreated” too much and too often, so I’m really glad that she got her “time to shine”… LITERALLY😅😍)

Uh yea hestia might be a weak goddess in the lower world, but with her divinity she’s an insanely powerful goddess.

It might have been for a brief shiny moment but that moment was the first time i actually liked hestia. And then at the end she goes back to her annoying self but oh well ❤
Anime skipped alot of internal monologue of both Freya and Horn, that's why the dynamic between them is a bit confusing.
Another thing is in the anime people are mostly suffering from Hestia flame, but in LN, Aiz describes Hestia's flame as the embrace of a mother which I really liked.
I wish they showed her true Vesta form at least when she cleansed everyone and not just the ades vesta name. It would have been a nice call back to the game.

Hestia only burned freya's charm they really didn't fight so her being weak is irrelevant+ hestia is using the tower as her altar and all house have her blood in it so she literally just lighting her fire in the whole town
This would have not worked out if freya is in the tower so ryu and bell disturbances allowed this to occur
Not to mention she isn't really weak. Just at a lower position due to her personality, other comments have beautifully explained this.
She's not though. She is explicitly a very prominent and powerful Goddess, when they're in the Heavens. But here, in the mortal realm, where they are playing by some very particular rules, she joined the game exceptionally late, and has no influence. But outside of that, pretty much any time one of the gods actually talks about her from when they knew her in the Heavens, they show her nothing but the utmost respect.

Plus the entire season so far has gone really really great
