Im surprised you left the oilfields, figgured that would be more money. I just finished CDL school and am waiting for my road test. Was planning on doing a year flatbed then going to the oilfields myself. Is this a bad idea? Any advice? Much appreciated!
The oil field is always up and down and it’s not easy to predict when it’s gonna be good or bad. It wasn’t that great when I was there and I didn’t know when it would turn around, so I came back to flatbed. There is big money in the oil field though, you just gotta be in the right place at the right time

When you came back to Melton, did they make you go out with a trainer again? Or did you get your truck right after orientation?

It wasn’t bad at all. They changed orientation from 2 weeks to just 8 days, so it goes by pretty quick
@ianelbert that's good, I thought 2 weeks was long, when I worked there it was 5 days.

hey you back. quick question, i also left melton after doing 8 months.. when you rejoin, did your CPM increase or it the same?
After I left melton I drove at another company for a few months, so when I came back I had 1yr driving experience. So that upped my CPM
What phone mount are you using?
I forgot the name but I think it starts with an “s” and I got it from Walmart
Why did you quit the oil fields?
I wasn’t making as much and I did at Melton, and I had to work nights a lot which I didn’t like
