Lu Lu is awesome little doggie. Don't you just love how we build stuff and then instantly make it better. Great upgrade to your upgrade.

@@MightyRaze thank you! She is an Australian Shepherd. Ethan and Steffen work for a couple on a farm a couple miles from us. They have a bunch of dogs and litters once in a while. She gave them pick of the litter. They chose a female so there wouldn’t be any issues with Duke.

Love the idea! Imagine how that trailer would feel behind a 212 powered tractor! Twice the horsepower with the touch of the throttle hahaha

@@RichieRichOverdrive heck yeah! This is just a prototype, experiment. Also could have a couple foot longer hitch and the engine could be mounted in front (outside) of the box. I still would like it to have a bit more power or less clutch slip. But it does work no doubt about that

It's a little weird but I don't hate it! So you know, back in the day there was a tractor from Porsche - yes, THAT Porsche - that could be equipped with a trailer. The trailer's axle hooked up to the tractor's PTO, so the tractor with the trailer was an articulated 6x4.

@@leifhietala8074 yes that’s awesome! We use these trailers all the time to go up and down a steep trail on our property. Before, if there was any significant amount of weight in the trailer, I would have to physically push on the trailer and help it go up behind the tractor. Sometimes there would be more than one person pushing on the trailer. And then going down, we would have to hang onto the trailer and drag our feet so that it didn’t just plow down the hill. I saw a video several years ago involving a Russian Sherp and if it wasn’t that it was something very similar. It had a trailer on it that was powered, and it had multiple axles from what I recall. It was basically unstoppable. This trailer here that I built is a prototype. Just to see if it would actually work. it does have some kinks that need to be worked out, but it does work and it works well. We have another trailer that I think I’m gonna try again, mount the engine outside of the trailer itself upfront on the hitch bar. I think I would use a slightly larger enginewith a torque converter so I can get some more torque out of it.

Crazy stupid idea only men would come up with (lets fill out trailer up with engine) 😅 but hell yeah 👍 Im all for it. Now u just need another trailer to hitched to the trailer and we have a serious wood collecting trail train. Some fixed chainsaw holders, a peavey hook, log roller, 2-stroke mix can holder, small tool box.

@@aussiehardwood6196 thanks for the thoughts and comment! This was a proof of concept build though. Now that we know it can work, it can be fine tuned/ rebuilt. I’ve got a larger trailer that we will add an engine to. This time it’ll be mounted in front of the box/ outside the box. It’ll be more powerful with a torque converter and more powerful brake.
Besides that, we are driving these small tractors up and down pretty steep terrain. If I put much more weight in it, the thing just slides down no matter what. The thought was to be able to get up and down “safer”, even if we have to make more trips. It’s way better than walking or pushing and pulling the trailer.
I won’t be around all the time when my boys are going to get firewood, so this gives me some piece of mind and I won’t be so worried about them getting hurt. Plus it is pretty cool. With that trailer on the back I’d say the whole thing is just as capable of conquering steep terrain, if not more capable than without it.
Maybe with the next version of it, we can try your idea and hitch another trailer up behind the powered trailer! We appreciate you commenting and watching! Thanks again!
