I have the hrt boot but the double edge version. I have abused the shit out of it, I use it all the time, carry it with me all the time and it has stood up to the years of abuse and use extremely well and I wojld recomend it to anyone who wants a solid knife for self defense and utility purposes
I just sent Nikki this video because she told me that she had this knife but knew nothing about it! I told her that you were the best reviewer on the Interwebs!! :))
Good review Fred, I have the CKSUR1 Search & Rescue and it's not too bad considering it was about $20. I always keep silica packets and throw them in my cases and safes.
Good point about the tang.. "Full tang" does not just mean the tang is as long as the handle, it also means the tang is as wide as the handle, and is visible all the way around.
Hey Fred, I enjoy your reviews. I was hoping you could try out a Stanley quickslide sport III. I have a few different knives but really like this knife and want someone like you to share your thoughts.
timber wolf, S&W, and schrade all have the same exact knife I knew of Schrader and S&W but then I noticed in an old budk catalog one of the little black and white adverts had a timber wolf has the same exact knife too and for oy $12 lol so there's no telling how cheap this knife actually is but I've had my hrt bootknife from S&W for over a month as my edc and its holding up great I even had it on my belt when I went swimming and the sheath held up awesome granted it was wet for a week after no rust tho 10/10 would s&w hrt bootknife again
I own two of these S & W HRT knives and one Timber Wolf and they are essentially all the same. At least one of them is marked stainless steel on the blade. All of them are dual edged and seem to be of good quality. I spent hours in re- edging the Timber Wolf knife , even using my Lansky diamond stone sharpening device, a couple of fine grit hones and eve stropped both sides of the blade, both top and bottom until I can clearly see a mirror finish. The cutting edge is decent but not outstanding. These are tactical knives meant for stabbing and not for slashing, since the knife has no belly. You could use this knife in a back alley situation, leave it in the perpetrator's gut and walk away if need be.
Thanks for the review..I must say I've been watching your videos for awhile now.I really like that you review more practical knives that we average joes can afford. While i like the reviews of the micro techs and benchmades and so on.I probably won't ever buy one. Most of my knives are 50.00 or less most are Kershaw and Spyderco value line between 16.00 and 25.00 dollars.which i think are great knives..So keep up the good work much appreciated
just got one today at academy for $19.99, found this review and agree with you 100%. its is boot knife that is designed to be clipped on the outer portion of the boot and i just realized how old this video is. but anyway overall it is a very good boot knife for the price range if you want a higher quality go with a Gerber but you are looking at $50 to $99 from what I have seen.
@Mangus Charette Several states ban knives with a sharpened back edge. They are commonly referred to as Dirks or Daggers and assholes have demonized them as they did switch blades and gotten them banned. Sharpening the back edge risks making the knife a dagger in several states its a felony to own a dagger let alone carry one.
***** NP. FYI Just so you know the HRT knives are just rebranded Schrade model SCHF19L's. Schrade, S&W Knives, and Imperial Knives are all owned by one company Taylor Brands.
They Fred I know you know alot abot many things but it's is full tang, the other tang is called full profile tang that is the 1s that are true. As always good review.

Col. Richard Hunter lol, you are being way to kind my great friend!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, bit couldn't you just grind another edge on the dull edge of the blade? Or would you risk damaging the coating

This video is great, now I know what knife to get
Hey man thanks for the great video! Ive just found one of these online and im considering getting the double edged version.
It makes a good letter opener!

Thank you for answering that question. I seem to have missed it in my message list.

Awesome review as always, great job Fred ;)
Love the channel! Keep it up!
Pretty cool fred!
If they didn't want me to eat it, why did they make it so delicious?
?/20 for you?
cool vids bro
Your camera is having a spaz attack. Lol
Caleb Whittington ok :)
You are welcome
I thought s&w was an American brand?!
No offense, I was hoping to see a BOOT knife rig, not a belt knife.
I can't believe I bought a 440c knife for 15 bucks
I lost interest at "Made in China". Shame on S&W when there are so many good American knife makers.
Great review on a not so great knife. Smith&Wesson uses their name to sell some pretty crappy quality products :/
