Check out the F-Series shade 10 Tefuawe auto darkening 2x4 welding lens. Light shade is only 2.5, shade 10 when dark, solar panel, 2 sensors, optical clarity of 1/1/1/2.
It really is a good deal. I have seen them around on TH-cam and Amazon for a while. I took a chance and I am very pleased. Some of my other helmets would flash me when I was using Tig. I found out later that they were not rated for lower amp Tig. So, when I was looking at this lense, I saw that the F-Series are rated for tig all the way down to 5 amps. And, you cant beat the clarity. I especially like that it is True Color, whether in the light shade or engaged. I hate the green lenses.
@@AllStarWeldingSC I ran one of the fixed 10.5 shade gold tig rated ones for a while and now I have one of their stainless “hand” series ones that’s awesome. When I’m not running a fixed lens I run that one of most of the time
huh, I don't wear any prescription glasses but makes me wonder if those cheater lenses would be a good upgrade for the sake of making things look more up close
No. It's accurate to a fixed lens 10 though. The one I have is the F-Series lens, good for tig down to 5amps. The F-Series aren't available in a 9, I don't think. Just 10, 10.5, and 11.
No sir. It was ready right out of the box. Because it doesn't have any other functions other than just on/off, it doesn't take much. I just bought a second one a few days ago for a second hood to keep in the truck. I think these are great! And the F series will do tig all the way down to 5 amps.
Your lens won't activate? Pull it out of your helmet and just hold it with your fingers, then use a lighter and make sparks. It should go dark briefly. It may be defective and need to be returned
Nice video sir! I appreciated the reader lens you talked about.
Thanks! Yeah, those things are great 👍
I keep seeing this lense and I think i need to purchase it. It seems like a good buy for the price

I like this welding helmet

I find that they are handy when tig welding. Let's me get really up close so I can get a better view of my puddle. For mig and stick, not too helpful.
Just picked up one myself. Would you say the shade is accurate to a fixed lens shade 9? Or rather on the lighter or darker side

@@AllStarWeldingSC Sweet, an thanks for the video. Have good one
Does this lense have to charge in the sun before you use it?

Mine won’t turn on
