I make this recipe with regular potato’s and I use leftover roast (pork or beef) don’t always mix the filling together but just layer on top of the potato. My husband loves it. I can’t wait to try it like this with the sweet potato and chicken. Thank you for sharing this with us. You make me look forward to Tuesday girl!

Yep! I pre cook all my potatoes/sweet potatoes in the microwave before I need to put them in the meal. Just stick it in a produce bag with a tiny bit of water and poke some holes in the potato and put it in the microwave for a few minutes
Wait... Ryland has never used his oven? Girl, give him some recipes and lessons on how to use that thing. He is missing out on some great recipes he could make in that. Also, since he will be a Dad (hopefully in the next year) he will need to know how to make great baked treats. One day he can bake some fun yummy things with his kid(s). ps. I find shallots to be a bit sharp so I don't use them often and pretty much use Vidalia onions because they are sweeter tasting when cooked. White onions can go in the trash. Yellow onions are ok. New vlog idea. Take Ryland to the store to get all the kitchen items he needs that he doesn't currently have that will make his life easier when making meals.

@@tikettle getting a press seriously changes the garlic game. I've also used a zester before. Anything to make it small.
