    Yes, because when I watched Conan, I remember endless hours of building houses and decorations. That time Arnold spent nearly two hours of the film gathering rocks, sticks and plan fibers was the best two hours of action I have ever seen in a film. So glad they included it in the game.

      Aww, thank you. To be honest, we enjoyed doing this series as well. We thought about doing more, but while it was quite easy to build with the base game and DLCs back in the days (and simply leave out mods), it's much more complicated now due to the sheer number of BP and Bazaar items. Almost nothing has been added to the base game, and of course, building/decorating with BP and Bazaar items would make sense if we have them - but who could rebuild our examples easily? BP items might not be obtainable anymore, and Bazaar items not available at the current time... and it's really hard to distinguish which items are obtained where when selecting them in game. We'll think about it, but these changes definitely complicate things. What type of topic would you have liked to see?

    • @hunterkiller1984
      @hunterkiller1984 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Pixelcave Thank you for the reply. I definitely understand the dilemma of using battle pass and bazaar items vs base game/DLC items while also making sure that the builds remain vanilla friendly.
      Hopefully funcom relents at some point and adds some extra things to the base game.
      Finally, if you guys were to revisit this series, perhaps you could consider things like a study area or golem workshops or even themed storage areas or perhaps shrine ideas that fit in one room..just throwing out random ideas though. Thank you! We agree, Conan Exiles has definitely an amazing build system and allows for so much creative freedom - if you play on PC, mods add yet another level of possibilities. There are for sure some frustrations too - no game is perfect - but if you are into sandbox building and/or role-playing, you should get a good amount of fun playtime out of the game.

  • @GothicElf68
    @GothicElf68 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really loved all of these ideas. I might have to try some of these ideas in future builds. I'd be hesitant to use the bonfire, though, as being a crafting station, it does require a lot of fuel to keep it lit. They looked really great, though. One of my favorites was the double-sided fireplace. That looked amazing. I could see that in the middle of a large great hall or even as an exterior fireplace.
    I did something similar to the 3rd suggestion prior to seeing this video. However, instead of building a second wall or building into my house, I built my framework on the exterior of the house, added a vaulted ceiling (I used a Nemedian pieces as the build is primarily in Nemedian and the fireplace is as well. I did not add a crenellation in front, though I suppose I could have. After this, I created an exterior chimney by stacking planters, Next, I sunk a tiny Stygian brazier into the soil in the planter low enough that the flames could not be seen, but the smoke from them could be. Lastly, I added the right and left sloping walls and topped off the exterior with a slopping Nemedian roof piece. This actually added to the exterior aesthetic of the house, by creating another roof of varied height and shape- a trick I learned from one of Eradicat1on's building tutorials. (The house I built is likewise based upon one of his designs, but I tweaked it a bit.)
    I have also used a variation of the sunken fireplace trick, again, before seeing this video. In this instance, I used the building trick to create a lowered foundation, then I simply placed a large campfire into it. The foundations surrounding it created a natural little mantel. As I intended this to be part of a kitchen area, I did not add any crenellations around it. I had not even considered it, to be honest. Now that I have seen this video, though, I just might decide to do this (and who knows what else) as I finish working in that area. The build, which is a work in progress, is a large fortress in the Exiled Lands, on a ridge near Godsclaw Pass.
    :NOTE: I do have the Less Building Placement Restrictions mod installed. I am not sure if everything I did could be recreated without it.

    • @Pixelcave
      @Pixelcave ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot! By the sounds of it, you have come up with several really cool ideas for fireplaces as well - really interesting, would love to see it. Since the video was purely focussed on the fireplace ideas, we didn't cover any build designs etc., but it is true - anything that helps adding depth or different heights to a build is often a great improvement / makes the build look more natural and elaborate, less like a simple box.
      The LBPR mod is great, we also use it frequently. Coming up with ideas which are mod-free was a bit of a challenge, but one can do a lot even without - it's surprising actually.

      No mods, and admin mode doesn't give you any options to place things differently, the game and placements are just extremely fiddly. We actually get annoyed ourselves by the base game's restrictions every time we do these builds. Now keep in mind that this video was done pre 3.0, who knows what could affect placement of some things.
