I learned how to create micros from this excellent video, but wound up disabling my undo and redo icons. Here is what you need to know. Creating a macro automatically causes you to lose all data in the space used for the undo and redo options to work. As a result, creating your macro causes the two icons to fade out and become unusable because there is no data in the reserved space). Don't try to fix this problem. It will automatically cure itself when, after stopping your macro-creating activity, and you start editing using MS Word, the reserved space will start receiving text and the two icons will fade back in.
added to my playlist "developer tutorials" ... i learned how to record a macro back in the day, then taught myself vba (enough to cut and paste from the internet), now i think i need to learn Powershell and/or Python. i would love to help my fellow computer geeks to push buttons. make your computer do all your work for you, that's what they're for! thanks for the video 👍
Putting the MS Office (any software, actually) version in the title of the video helps. In the 2020/21 version, the macro option is under the VIEW tab.
thanks for nice explanation/ i have a question pleas / if i need to add a command botton inside the word document or templat and write a code for it that save the document as the NAME lable field (plain text content control), in a specific bath directory, how can i write the code pleas ? can you drope the line code that do this when i click in this command botton.? pleas your answe and thank you in advance.
This is a super video. Can you also do a Macro for an action, like finding something and automatically replacing it with something else? In other words, can you automate the FIND + REPLACE functions?
Quick question, is the macro part of the document, I mean if I open the document on a different computer, it will work? sorry if it's a dummy question xD
Hello Mike! Thank you for the tutorial. Question for you: If I'm wanting to create a new macro and already have code for it to copy and paste into VBA, how do I create this new macro without deleting previous macros I have created? For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to deselect the old macro that appears in the "Macro Name" field by default, so that I can create a new macro. Any time I hit Create, Word asks if I want this new macro to replace my old one. No, I do not! But there does not appear to be any other option. SOS! :)
This is the best tutorial video! Solved all my problems easily. You rock!
Thanks Justine! I'm glad this helps! Do you use Macros in Excel too?

Nice Tim! Thanks for letting me know. Do you use macros in Word often?
Helpful. But your yellow highlight around the cursor is distracting!
Thanks Joe! That’s good feedback. I think a better option is to make the mouse slightly bigger.

We're both right, it's in both!
I just don't see a Developer tab when I open up my Word doc so that baffled me.
@@newbodytrends You should add this tab in the options. there is checkbox with developer tab
