      Pause any video of mine you like on your computer, take a screenshot. Adjust the scale until the outside fork tips are 100mm outside edge to outside edge. Trace the outline of the slingshot. Then you have a template.

    Your channel needs more attention, you have straight forward videos which are rare. What is the width of the forks you're using? Also 10:00 I got used on °F over the years on TH-cam 😂 greetings from Europe lol

      @sturmslingshotsandshenanigans  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching! I like being a semi hidden gem on TH-cam.
      In all honesty my channel has grown a bunch in the last 6 months. It's pretty cool to see people from all over the world enjoying my nerdy lil passion in backwoods Alaska.

    • @BushcraftEurope
      @BushcraftEurope ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans I would say channels that review a lot of gear have more attention, those that sell themselves for views. You just enjoy hunting and slingshots and I find that to be rare. If you were to film how to taper videos or ones with goofy clickbaits of suprised person and pointing a finger on 4 rabbits with a caption "I hunt them in severe storm while fucking bear was following me" while severe storm is just a light rain and bear is 4 miles away (like bushcraft channels do) you would get more views for sure. Or if you make videos like:
      10 begginer mistakes
      10 things I wish I knew before slingshoting
      One thing that will make you accurate
      (just talk bunch of shit but make it look as one tip)
      No power tool slingshot build
      (Make sure to use at least one and apologise)
      How I made this slingshot in 1h!!?
      (Make sure to have a clickbait with surprised face, mouth wide open and point to a slingsho) (Use power tools as usual and don't sand a lot and make sure to say waiting for it to cure is not included in one hour)
      You get the point hahah I hate YT sometimes, have tons of channels on Don't reccomend for these reasons.
      So thanks for being straight forward and filming what we all like - slingshots, hunting and slow mo videos of rabbits dying lol

    I see you prefer 11mm ammo. I'm assuming that you have tried all the others before making this decision. Would you consider offering the pros and cons of the others, and why you decided on 11mm? It appears that nearly all of your shots are head shots. What happens with body shots using the 11mm? Thanks for your invaluable advice and experience!!

    • @sturmslingshotsandshenanigans
      @sturmslingshotsandshenanigans  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      9.5 was hard for me to hold. 10 mm is hard to get in Alaska. 1/2 inch (12.7mm) was pretty slow with bands that were comfortable to draw and aim with, but I did use it for a long time. 11 mm or 7/16in is easy to come by, packs a huge amount of energy, moves fast and requires a draw of 13-15 lbs which is pretty comfortable.
      Head shots always win. Squirrels will laugh at a body shot and leave. Grouse will fly off and die, and bunnies will die but recovery requires tracking. And the vital zone on a hare is about the same size as the head. Head shoot em and eat well

      Awesome video !!, please keep the build videos coming!. I started making my own SS from crate Myrtle and oak , I was wondering out of one bottle of blue gorilla glue ( how many SS do get to seal ). I’ve been putting one coat on letting dry - going over any runs with 600 or better sand paper and then adding another coat. I’m only getting 3 (maybe) SS out of a bottle. Thanks for any information.

    For a 4-inch fork, what is the longest range you can accurately shoot at a target? 13:06 ❤'

    • @sturmslingshotsandshenanigans
      @sturmslingshotsandshenanigans  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can hit at 50 yards on the range. Probably farther if I practiced, but I don't hunt much past 35 yards. Width of frame has nothing to do with it.

    • @sturmslingshotsandshenanigans
      @sturmslingshotsandshenanigans  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Over the top if you are going to hunt. You have to be able to aim high for longer shots to account for the drop. Aiming high with TTF covers the target with your top fork eliminating accuracy.

      I like rounded posts. You can wrap bands around them and it works fine. If you have square posts you can fold your bands in half and tie them. I will occasionally round the corners of a square post and wrap around it and that seems to work fine.
