Good stuff. Been playing Tiger's modern for a long time but then again have had difficulties to come up solutions when facing Modern myself.

@@MiodragPerunovicOfficial And when it comes to The Sniper I think there exist almost a refutation which is as far as I remember
      "1.d4 g6 2.e4 Bg7 3.Nc3 c5 .4dxc5 Bxc3+ 5.bxc3 Qa5 6.Qd4"

Electronite1337 I am writing a book Butcher the Sicilian for Chessable and as far as I am concerned I gave both 4.dc5, but I suggested easier positional play after 4.d5!

Have to say this lecture has been very useful. Been playing too many harry the H-pawn pushes (Bullet) against modern and therefore never really learned how to play against these variations. Last couple of days have noticed that Gurgunidze is surprisingly common opening. Been getting good positions thanks to this lecture.

    1. e4 g6 2. d4 d5 - anyone come across this? Is it a line in the Scandinavian after 3. exd5?

    Actually , in old books I read that after moves 1 e4 c6 2 d4 d5 3 Nd2 was considered better than 3 Nc3 allowd 3... g6 after which it transposes))
But, after 3 Nd2 g6 was considered a better version for White ,cuz they can play 4 c3)))

Good point! And you avoid also 3.Nc3 b5 line

@@MiodragPerunovicOfficial I think advance variation 3 e5 is worth considering as well
      For example this easy line for white 1 e4 c6 2 d4 d5 3 e5 Bf5 4 h4 h5 5 Bd3 B: d3 6 Q: d3 e6 here white got a simple plan 7 Bg5 if Queen 7... Qb6 8 Nd2 he never can take on b2 and white later plays Nf3 or e2 , castles and c4
On c4 If black takes on c4 he got d5 square but White got d6 via Nc4 and d6 straight away
So on c4 push Black rarely takes and Black ususlly plays passively and White under certain curcumstances can pllay C5 , b4, a4 and dominate the whole board

    Mio, I played the two knights against Caro Kann. It went: 1. e4 c6 2. Nf3 d5 3. Nc3 g6 . What do I do when Black plays g6 ?
