As an Alekhine player I welcome this video and hope more players play 3. Nc3. Frankly it’s an underused line and I was getting bored of smashing up cowards who play 2. Nc3 and people who wander into the four pawns with no idea of what they’re doing 😉

I'm an alekhine player and never felt really confident playing against 3. Nc3.
That's why I checked this out, to know what white usually aims for. Very instructive and wellmade video. Thanks a lot.

Great stuff! Big thanks for mentioning here my friend GM Vladimir Baklan. As another model game: GM Baklan vs GM Miroshnichenko (1999) in line 1.e4 Nf6 2.e5 Nd5 3.Nc3 Nxc3 4.bxc3 d5

Thank you on donation Oleksandr! I appreciate it! Baklan is a great GM and knew his tricky opening stuff very much, also great as tactician

Great analysis. I looked because I knew that my opponent has played Alekhine for years and I have very rarely seen it. I won the game!

Great analysis like always Big Mio! Can’t wait to try this one. Alekhine’ s defense has been really annoying me lately!

Your videos are amazing! Makes me want to play chess again! You should publish a book with all the great opening choices! One of my last books is Gambiteer. But your choices are better! Thanks for uploading great content butcher!

1.e4 Nf6 2.e5 Nd5 3.Nc3 if black plays 3...e6 what is the most confortable way to play with white ?

  • @alexrich6723

i need more ideas like knight g5 when light bishop is closed

And what about 3...e6, the 2nd most popular response? 4.Nxd5 most common move and the game structure is slightly different from examples shown in the video and can't tranpose to 4...e6 section

Not winaver but french maccuchen variation the system u r recommending after black goes for e6. Tank u anyway

  • @jjowow
    @jjowow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

6:56 could've added that if Ng5 cxd4 you take the h pawn and when they move the bishop lets say to e7 you play cxd4 Nxd4 Qg4!, and white is much better practically speaking

What would you recommend against Alekhine's 3...e6, first played in Saemisch, F-Alekhine, A /1921? This is the line I believe Timothy Taylor recommended in his Alekhine repertoire book for Everyman Chess many years ago. It certainly leads to very different types of structures.

I have always played this against alekhine def. I didn't study it. Just played it and won so never bothered to learn it for rare opening. What about after Nc3 black plays c6

  • @pawekuriata1525

I understand that there is not chance to introduce all line in short video, but sometimes i'm a little bit surprise when i check your variations on the CPU and after your comment "it's only move for oponent" etc. I see two logic continuation (sometimes even better). For example after a4 (in variations when Knight goes to b6) there is no only a6 for black, but also Bg4 or Bf5. :) But ofc - thank you for your effort.

Just curious has making these videos help your chess ? The series were your talking about crushing/refuting etc... Are extremely convincing!

Thanks a lot for another excellent video! One question: How about if Black plays 3... e6 (instead of 3....Nxc3 or 3.....Nb6)? What will be the basic approach from White's side then? Thanks a lot!

Why play e6 instead of Bg4? E6 blocks your bishop. The move e6 make non sense.
