@Well-Loved Knits Isabelle The Giraffe is adorable! 👏 😁 She is going to be such great company for Baby. Also, I started crocheting a bunny (pattern by Yarnspirations) before you started making Isabelle and you still finished before I did! No fair! 😉
Maybe you can use the leftovers to make matching spotted baby beanies. You can make them in a few sizes so he can always match the giraffe as he grows. Each one can be different color combos, inverted colors, etc. so you can use all the yarn up.
This is the second Animal Friends Book and all these patterns are done in pieces. If you want to change to working in the round and stuff as you go, watch Linda Eld you tube, she does it and I tried it and found it so much easier and more fun. I have made 10 of the animals from the first book, my grand kids love them, they are best friends. by the way, your work is so good. A helpful hint for anyone wanting to make these, fill a little more than you think it needs because after a lot of play, they soften up a lot. Also, the head is really wobbly when done in pieces, Linda shows how to secure the head much better.
@@gabrielaevertsson2932 hi. It is episode #5 where she first talks about the neck stabilizer. That is 2 years ago but she has many other helpful episodes and talks about the neck in other episodes.

Pro tip: Scheepjes has mini balls of their yarn available. I believe they are 10 g each. It is really handy for projects like this, where you only need a small amount of colours.
Idea for the scraps! you can knit a modified version of the musselborough hat so that the inside is a yarn that is soft enough for baby, but the outside borrows some of the motifs from the giraffe pattern (e.g. the spots and the ears) so he can match Isabel!
I ❤ Isabelle! She is adorable with her embroidered eyes. I would embroidery the eyes also. You can use the extra yarn for baby hats, mittens, booties and socks for baby. I just knitted a teddy bear for my mother who has Alzheimers. She loves it. I am making a sweater now for the bear. Your quilt blocks are beautiful. We call the grid blocks "nine patch." Because there are 9 squares. You are doing a great job on your quilt.❤
I have made many of Susan B Anderson's' not so itty bitty giraffe's (give a bunch away as gifts) and could really relate to your sewing and stuffing the animal. I love that giraffe, she does look like the picture. I must save up for that cute book and try it, as well as the other animals in the book. So darn cute, you did good!!! You could make more for gifts with your leftover yarn, that's what I did with the giraffe's I made. And, I made them in the colors that the child asked for. Love the comment about your child's new best friend... tears of joy. love, hugs, prayers
She is perfect! And I believe she looks better than the picture because you made her for your baby boy. All the love is coming through! He is going to love on her so much, and repairs in the future are part of what mommas do for their children.
I bought both books and am ordering the yarn for 6. The giraffe is on my list. They are for grandchildren. I’m making the clothes as well. My friend is helping and knitting 3 of them. Loved seeing your giraffe and the process. Well done!
This is ridiculously cute! I have 4 kids ages 6 yrs-10 months and I have never felt the urge to knit a stuffed animal BUT now I am feeling the need to knit my baby girl a small cat! And yay the quilt!!!!!! You will be so thankful to have that to snuggle him up with. I made crib quilts for all my kids and they use them every night even though some of them are bigger than the quilt now.
Hi! Coincidentally, I'm on a big soft toy kick too! So many people wanting one😙 I found that sewing and stuffing as you go makes finishing less daunting. Oh, and kitchenering the top of the foot makes an excellent finish. I made the fox first, and then I made my second animal (mouse) in the round. Ps, you can copystich anything that might let stuffing escape. Much love from Shetland 💖
The giraffe turned out so darned cute!!! You inspired me to buy this pattern book for myself, and I can't wait for it to arrive! I did a bit of research and came across Linda Eld on TH-cam. She has come up with an approach where she knits the critters entirely in the round (Episode 30), and I am keen to try it out for myself. I thought I would mention it in case you decide to knit up a friend for baby boy's giraffe :)
The giraffe is great....so sweet. I made a teddy bear for my daughter while awaiting her arrival. Over the years all her "fur" got loved off. 52 years later my daughter still has it. I suggest you make your baby a striped sweater with all the leftovers from his animals! Fun!
Oh girl that is so adorable! I love it so much and so will he. My daughter still has her first stuffy and she just turned 42. Use those ends for another project.
It is so cute. I've always been told when stuffing toys to stuff them full and then when you think you're done, stuff it more because it will look understuffed when you are done.
Very cute giraffe. Now I want the pattern book to make some for my grandsons. ❤ . I have just cast on a Colorado Sweater for our 18 yr old and am loving how soft, subtle and fast it is .
I love it, the smile and joy you have with this project is so cute. Very happy for you. I love the giraffe! Make the baby something to match the giraffe with the leftovers.
I was given this book and took it to Staples to have it spiral bound since it cost less than $10. I knew I would be flipping back & forth thru the pages & wanted them to lay flat while I followed the directions. I knit the elephant first. Sooo cute! Now what is a 74 Year old woman going to do with knitted animals LOL? But I just have to knit them all. I love your giraffe too. Yes, I want them all. I also knit the clothes and used cotton yarn in my stash. But I did use the Stone washed yarn it called for, like you did, for the body so I was sure to get correct gauge. You have convince me to keep going ….. and my great-grand children will some day have a menagerie.
Bethany, I love your giraffe. She will definitely be a sweet keepsake for your son! I crocheted my daughter a bear and have taken her picture with it every month!
I love all the imperfection of the giraffe! And I'm sure as baby boy cuddles with it, over time the stuffing and stitches will change anyway so no point in fretting over the lumps and holes ☺I am really excited to cast on a baby blanket for my sisters second kid. She picked out a bright and happy blue color and its going to be such a joy to knit with!
What a beautiful giraffe, your son will treasure it. So excited for you working on your first quilt. Remember your iron is your best friend when quilting 💕
I love this channel. Love you too Bethany. Blessings for your baby. Great inspiration. Wish I could get 🧶 knitting help from you personally. 👶🏻❤️Best wishes! 🌈❣️
Isabel is beautiful. I love that any hand made article is completely unique, even if you made an Isabel v.2 she wouldn't be exactly the same as the original which is what makes her perfect.
So so precious! She’s perfect and he’ll love her! I’m so excited for your quilt! You look terrific. Thanks for the time. All the best to you and your family, Kimberly
Thank you for the motivation, I am finally working on my own stuffie again, although he is crochet. It's Toothless from How to train your Dragon, and I only have his arms and tail left to do!
Great job! It came out SO cute! If you decide to make more stuffies and you are worried about having holes again you can put your stuffing inside some cheap nylon stockings and then put that in your project. And I agree the sewing is my least favorite part 😅
I am obsessed. Baby number 5 is coming in November, and I finally have both the skills and confidence to make all the things. A fabulous job and I love the eyes and lash. The only fault, is the one you pointed out on the back. You could always run a few duplicate stitches around the circles. This will keep the stuffing nice and tight. Otherwise I think the floppy head and limbs is what makes Isobel so adorable and your baby’s best friend. ❤️❤️❤️
Stuffed animal projects are just so fun! They're one of my favorite things to make, and I don't have little kids anymore so I just give them all away. :) I hate the seaming too, so I choose seamless animal patterns whenever I can. I really want to try one of these Louise Crowther animals though. They are so lovely! Your giraffe turned out so well! A perfect friend for baby. This is so cute! I love it! an idea for the leftovers is maybe make another one of the heads and then crochet a bigger-ish granny square and sew the head to the middle to make one of those lovey type blankets?
Oh my goodness . . . .I JUST bought this book!!!! I really want to knit something from it for my newest grandbaby coming in Nov😊 You mentioned having to knit intarsia - which makes me nervous because I've never done intarsia! She turned out WONDERFUL and SO cute!!! I saw an idea somewhere that someone used the bendable foam (hair) curlers inside a stuffie for the neck so it wasn't wobbly . . . if it really works . . .it's a genius idea!😉
I'm working on a filet crochet last name wall hanging to gift my cousin at her wedding mid August! She is from the US and her fiance is from Thailand so they picked a new last name together that is in Thai but that is significant to her as well and pays tribute to her maiden name. I love it and wanted them to have something with their unique new last name on it!
She is so sweet… maybe you can use her to take monthly pictures of your son (nice to have a stuff animal in the picture for size reference) and this will stay in his memory book forever!
Very cute! When I started knitting a couple years ago I decided to save ALL my wool and plant fiber scraps for stuffing, should I ever want to make toys. I wouldn’t want a baby sucking on synthetic yarns or even superwash wools or dyed yarns, for that matter. Seems you can also buy organic cotton fill now.
For more on quilting (and how to make 'flying geese' blocks) I recommend watching episodes of The Last Homely House, in which Kate explains and shows how she does it. You'll have to search back in old episodes, but Kate's youtube channel is worth watching (i.m.o.)
If the holes bother you you can duplicate stitch of them to close them up. You could make the giraffe a blanket with the left overs or even kill to birds at once knit it a little jacket.
The giraffe is precious!! I made my daughter a panda for daycare. They're only supposed to have their own stuffies for naps, but she carries it around everywhere for emotional support. It's by Susan B. Anderson, who has a whole lot of amazing stuffed animal patterns.
Ahh! I can't wait to see your quilt! I would love to see the process you did for it for us that also want to tackle a quilt but are a little scared haha
one of my best friends is expecting a baby boy in april 2023 so i’ve been knitting up a little outfit (sweater, booties, shorts, and pants) !!! also crocheting a matching blanket to go along with the outfit 🤍👶🏼
Babies LOVE stuffies that are shaped like that, they're so huggable. If they have a more realistic animal shape, they are hard to snuggle! If it was me, I'd be all over making that giraffe a wardrobe 😁 P.S. In case no one else has said, the "flying geese" are the shapes that are around the center block that make up the star. (I'm a quilter and don't know the specific name for that star either) Anyway, flying geese are a common quilt component and you can find lots of videos that help with how to sew them up nicely!
It's so cute!!!!! Definitely with you that piecing things together is a drag. I make amigurumi and sometimes it takes just as long for me to motivate myself to put it together than it does to crochet all the bits haha
It's so cute 🥺 As someone that was sewing dolls before knitting, I can tell you that it's never enough stuffing. Always overstuff! like to the point where it's coming out before assembly Also you could always use the leftover yarn to make her some tiny clothes 🦒🦒
Ah that turned out so cute Bethany! I just recently knitted up Gromit (from Wallace and Gromit) and I’m hoping to do the full cast but omg I FEEL you when you said not looking forward to sewing up it took so long!!
Omg she turned out so beautifully! 😍😍 I’m a beginner knitter but I would love to get to the point where I could knit up something this cute in the future. This has definitely inspired me to get to that point haha
Aww sge really is so sweet, great job on your first stuffed animal!!! Seeing all the little pieces in the beginning stressed me out a little bit lololol but so worth it!!
Yayyyy, it looks so good! 😁 I finished the toy I said I was making in one of your last videos, and this uploaded during the seaming of my very next one :P
im still knitting up socks! though, i’m starting to tire of pure stockinette socks, so i’ve been looking into more interesting patterns. after agonizing over what yarn would go best with what patterns, i decided to take a lovely chocolate brown and just go with the flow! i’m gonna go for a checkerboard pattern :)
so glad to find this video in my subscription feed 💛 I have to weave in the ends of my summer secret crop (from Jessie Mae Designs) that I've just finished and I was very lazy to do it, but this video really motivate me, so I will do that while you seam this gorgeous stuffed girafe which I'm in love with 😍 thanks you so much for this amazing video !!
I'm sock knitting for myself for the winter long socks Love the giraffe have you tried amigurumi they are always good because the head and the torso are one piece
This giraffe is sooo cute ! 🥰 If you want to knit seamless stuffed animals, I suggest Cinthia Vallet's designs (you can find them on Ravelry). She has made a bunny, bears, a mouse, a lion, etc. and they come with little clothes. I haven't knitted them myself already but I've heard really good comments about them and I will definitely knit them as Christmas gifts.
Can you please tel me witch colors you used I wanted to crochet a giraf not so good in knitting. They have different shades of brown and cream from scheepjes. I love the colors of you’re giraffe she’s adorable 🤗👏
Maybe you can make baby a little hat or scarf with the leftovers so that he can match his toy when he’s a little older? My aunt gifted me a hat for myself and my teddy bear when I was little and I was OBSESSED with matching her😅
I couldn’t be more excited with the result!! Thanks for cheering me on for this project 💗 wishing you a happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday! Was just looking for something to watch while I knit for the day!

The eyes that you’ve created by embroidery makes it perfect! Much sweeter than then with plastic eyes.
Very cute!! I think embroidery was best choice for eyes. Safer and, I think, cuter!

Gorgeous giraffe. Between yours and Kat's zebra, I want to buy the book now too. Your son is going to love her!
She’s so sweet! I think it looks even better than in the photo ❤️
Also I'm so proud of you for doing the safe thing and embroidering the eyes. So many people use safety eyes and they're so unsafe for littlies!
I love her eyelashes!!! Such a cute touch!
Isabel is beautiful. I love that any hand made article is completely unique, even if you made an Isabel v.2 she wouldn't be exactly the same as the original which is what makes her perfect.
You could make a lovey with the left over yarn! Make a little giraffe head and a small blanket attached.
So so precious! She’s perfect and he’ll love her! I’m so excited for your quilt! You look terrific. Thanks for the time. All the best to you and your family, Kimberly

I would be so nervous to make this! I'm glad you recorded the process. The leftover yarn can be for repairs 😄
the eyelashes look so good!!!! definitely very giraffe!
The joins look fantastic!!! You did such a great job.
Oh Bethany! This couldn’t be any cuter!! Great job! 👏 it will be “well loved” 😉
Totally want to knit a stuffed animal now! Love yours
I don't know if you have enough yarn over but a matching newborn cardigan or even hat would be adorable!
ahhhh its sooo cute!!! I love the giraffe so much. I am making frogs for my sisters and I never knew how happy these knitted frogs could me make!
Loved the giraffe. So freaking Cute

I love it and wanted them to have something with their unique new last name on it!
How cool is that! Such a special project 💗
You could knit a Ten stitch blanket (free pattern) or a big granny square blanket from the scraps for your baby!
Oh my gosh, Isabelle the giraffe is so, so cute. You did an amazing job. I love the eyelashes. 😊
She is so sweet… maybe you can use her to take monthly pictures of your son (nice to have a stuff animal in the picture for size reference) and this will stay in his memory book forever!

Your excitement inspired me to try amigurumi again! 🥰 I’m definitely gonna crochet an octopus mascot (hockey team) for me & a Pikachu for a friend 😄
The giraffe turned out so cute! I’ve ordered this book and can’t wait to knit one of these, thank you for the inspiration!
It turned out so adorable 😻 I’ve made a few little stuffed animals and it’s always so fun and quick!

Thank you for posting ♥️💞
Aww sge really is so sweet, great job on your first stuffed animal!!! Seeing all the little pieces in the beginning stressed me out a little bit lololol but so worth it!!
I absolutely love it ❤️
this is so sick. Good job on that, respect your commitment.
Wonderful experience and I hope that I can give it a try but I have no idea how to do it
Please please please, knit a little beanie with girrafe's ears and those pointy things, that would be SO adorable ❤️
Yayyyy, it looks so good! 😁 I finished the toy I said I was making in one of your last videos, and this uploaded during the seaming of my very next one :P
im still knitting up socks! though, i’m starting to tire of pure stockinette socks, so i’ve been looking into more interesting patterns. after agonizing over what yarn would go best with what patterns, i decided to take a lovely chocolate brown and just go with the flow! i’m gonna go for a checkerboard pattern :)
so glad to find this video in my subscription feed 💛
I have to weave in the ends of my summer secret crop (from Jessie Mae Designs) that I've just finished and I was very lazy to do it, but this video really motivate me, so I will do that while you seam this gorgeous stuffed girafe which I'm in love with 😍
thanks you so much for this amazing video !!
I'm sock knitting for myself for the winter long socks
Love the giraffe have you tried amigurumi they are always good because the head and the torso are one piece
I love the colors of you’re giraffe she’s adorable 🤗👏
yoummihjt be able to double stitch the back holes, but clothes work/ it is so cute!
Do you have a baby name yet? or a list?
Maybe you can make baby a little hat or scarf with the leftovers so that he can match his toy when he’s a little older? My aunt gifted me a hat for myself and my teddy bear when I was little and I was OBSESSED with matching her😅
