And it's so tragic that when they've finally decided, "Okay forget some idealistic solution, let's just *finally* do something good and negotiate." Jayce demands (unknowingly) the SINGLE THING that Silco would never give him.
One of the things I ask myself to ensure I am properly orienting my beliefs is asking "Does this belief require lies or exaggerations to maintain?" If you find yourself lying or stretching or bending the truth just to win arguments then perhaps you have started to slip towards tyranny or radicalism without even noticing.
the council voting for peace with silco not knowing he's dead, jinx' hextech fueled rocket hurdling towards them and breaching their space underscored with sting singing "what could have been" roll credits... what a masterpiece.
@@funnylilgalreacts Definitely. The only therapy we all have is watching others take the journey like we did, in reaction videos. So thank you for that.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Arcane is a modern Greek tragedy. A story of people doing the best they can on a collision course with each other, a train wreck that we all see coming but can't look away from. Pure perfection.
@@matheussanthiago9685 Well, wherever this Cooper guy went, I hope he's OK. To expand on Shakespeare, I see Vi and Kait as a Romeo and Juliet (obvious), while Jayce and Viktor are more of a Prospero and Caliban, and Silco as a MacBeth, and Powder/Jynx is Halmet.
This episode has two of my favorite storytelling tropes: 1) A character is offered exactly what they want most in the world, for the one price they're unwilling to pay. 2) As part part of a tragic ending: an alternate path which leads to a happier outcome is shown to the audience, but characters' choices have already made taking that path impossible.
It truly is an amazing storytelling. But the fact that they can do it with animation and still portray the emotions is stellar. It’s just unbelievable.
@@funnylilgalreacts Anime in the east has been there for a while now but hopefully it becomes more mainstream in the west that animation doesn’t automatically means that it’s not a rich medium to tell meaningful stories with and they don’t have to be just for kids. And if an animated show is for adults it doesn’t need to make low effort raunchy jokes in rapid succession because that is apparently what being adult means.
@@Mokikimoki well honestly "normal anime" rearly can hold up to arcane imo, yes they can make u emotional but arcanes animations are just way better in that way than the mostly over the top, or to generic.
@@Gandorhar I am not saying that every anime is top notch or aims for the same thing arcane did. My main point was that in the east animation is much more varied. There is a much bigger palette of different kinds of anime. For us in the west animation is generally regarded as for kids so most of the animated shows we get are either for kids or family guy type of shows that are adult themed because of the humor. But we don't get animated shows like Arcane that go beyond what we typically expect from animation. Not just from a visual but story telling standpoint. In anime those type of shows are much more common.
Silco has "Freedom at any cost" mentality even if it means death of many innocent people and Vander had "Peace at any cost" mentality, even while the topside was exploiting and poisoning them. But in his last moments, when he had to protect his daughter, Vander gave up on his pacifist principles and was ready to smash some skulls, the same way Silco gave up on his principles when he had to give up his daughter, and independence of Zoan was suddenly no longer a priority. "Ohh it all makes sense now brother
I actually really really love Silco as a "villain" because he has such depth to him. I mean, his ultimate aims, what really *drives* him, are things considered to be noble: freedom, equality, and independence. What makes him a villain is that he so completely subscribes to "the ends justify the means" as an ethos (Power is given to those willing to do *anything* in its pursuit) and is willing to do villainous and evil things in the pursuit of something that we would define as noble: a free and independent nation of Zaun. Silco really does love Jinx as a daughter. His love, attitude, and ethos have resulted in twisting her irrevocably, but he still was willing to sacrifice *everything* for her. Like others have said, this really is a modern-day Greek tragedy. There's hubris, mortal fallibility, and people's decisions which may make sense in the moment, but in reality have truly epic negative consequences... Euripides would be proud. One of the big pillars of that tragedy is that, despite what Vi wants to believe, Jinx really *IS* a "jinx" in the same way that someone in an actual ancient Greek play would be "cursed by the gods." Basically every thing she takes part in that's major goes horribly wrong. Think about it: the robbery, the monkey bomb trying to save Vi & Vander, the air ship in Ep4, the fight at the end of Ep6 when Vi gets taken and leaves her "abandoned" again, Ep7 where she nearly dies after fighting Ekko, and then at the end, when she fires off the rocket into the Piltover council right as they are voting to give Silco and Vaun everything they ever wanted. Every single time, the side she is supposedly on is on the verge of succeeding, only to have horrific results as the results of what she does.
Mel indicated she's done with her family. As shown by her removing her ring and also her mother looking upon her painting of home that Mel trashed. Great reactions throughout the series. One of my favorite shows ever.
Mel didn't trash the painting. She covered the fleet of Noxus in waves of Piltover gold. She was showing who she was now and was rejecting her mother's offer to come back to Noxus.
There's my favourite line in the entire show. "Make her go away. Please?" Because to Jinx, Vi is playing the game she described in episode 8. The game where they invent bigger and scarier monsters until Powder would get scared, and so Vi has to scare the monster away. Caitlyn is the biggest, scariest monster, that can take her sister away forever, so of course Jinx is scared of her... and asking Vi to scare her away. Chase away the monster you created. Vi fails to catch that, but she almost succeeds anyway, accidentally, by suggesting they run away from the scary monster. However... Vi clearly does not understand her sister throughout the tea party, and so she has no chance. She is still seeing who her sister is now as a mere... illness, or a veil over her true little sister, still the caring little ten-year-old she left behind all those years ago, and doesn't even entertain the notion that she is facing not just a mask, but who her sister has BECOME in the intervening time. That's why there was never a chance that she would sway Jinx, even though Jinx herself was TRYING to be swayed... because Vi was not prepared to do the ONLY important thing, which was to ACCEPT Jinx in her current stead.
If you watch closely, you could see the brief moment where Jinx is disappointed that Vi though she had decapitated Caitlyn and put her head on a plater. In that moment, Jinx was probably very hurt and disappointed that her sister think that lowly of her. Yeah, she shot at them at the bridge, but not to hurt them, but to separate them. If Jinx wanted Caitlyn dead, she would have done so at the bridge. Jinx may be crazy, but she isn't stupid and is smart enough to put things together be that inventions, weapons, people, and situations. Everyone that she has targeted directly has hurt her and/or Vi or Silco in some way. The firelights for attacking the shimmer. Marcus for taking away her sister and threatening Silco. Now, the council, because they have been a problem for years now as their inaction has allowed the problems to fester and become worse; and when the council decides to act, they attack the people of the undercity via the enforcers. This lead to the deaths of her parents, the fact she was forced to live a life where her talents were put towards building weapons to survive, taking her sister away from her, and probably some other things. Being how stealthy she is, she could be anywhere at anytime gathering info and overhearing conversations, so there's no telling how much she knows of things. In the end, after being heavily disappointed by her sister and losing Silco, she decides what she sees as a long time problem, the council, should be dealt with, she's doing it her way. After all, there will be no peace because even if she had not done anything, they would have attempted to come for her anyway. The main one crazy enough to start stuff and they couldn't let her be and let all of Zaun have a clean slate (her included). The whole table meeting, I think, was set up for Jinx to test loyalty, after all, that was one of Silco's major values, especially after what Vander did to him. Silco was completely loyal, but got killed because he attempted to shoot Vi during Jinx's mental breakdown. Vi was somewhat loyal but could bring herself to fully accept what Powder had become (Jinx), therefore Jinx finally settling into in person as she is now instead of the mental tug of war between her younger self and her adult self. She could never fully grow up until she faced her issues, which is what this last part was. On a side note: I don't think she had any intention of killing Cait. Jinx knew Vi cared about Cait and even called Cait "Vi's girlfriend", so her intent was to make sure that Vi would not get so enamored with Cait that she would forget her sister and give her up. Her line: "Im not that crazy."; I think said as much. After all, if she cares for her sister, why would she do something that would ultimately end up pushing her sister away for good? She wanted to see if Vi, despite their differences and changes, would still be there for her, but Vi only partially passed the test. "Here's to the new us." Jinx will probably still care for her sister. Now, I'm thinking that down the line, Jinx and Vi will probably have a battle or several battles leading up to a point where they come to an understanding. Now that Jinx has had a chance to work through a lot, probably not all, but a lot of her stuff; it's time for Vi to work her stuff out, which she has failed to do (because she's extremely hard headed and stubborn).
More details: Those monsters that Vi described in Ep 8. are visible as crayon drawings on the old walls at Ep. 6, with the colours showing which sister drew them.
I don't think she misunderstood. I think she physically and mentally can't accept what jinx has become. In her mind it's her own fault she's like that now and she hates it. She can't possibly say "jinx" to her face because SHE gave her that name. Like yeah that might be the most important thing for their reunion but let's be honest, aslong as Vi wants to... she wouldn't be able to.
Also telling her to remember who she is and all these things, VI sees it as seeing who she really is. For jinx it’s bringing up all her trauma which she can’t cope with and causes her to split
I adore Silco. Of course he's a terrible person but as a character he's fantastic, and I can't help but like him because of the pure love and affection he has for Jinx
That’s what made him so great, he’s such a dynamic character. He’s not one-sided he’s very three-dimensional. Just straight up one of the best characters in animation
@@funnylilgalreacts Silco was dominating that conversation up until Jayce mentioned Jinx. Then you can instantly see his change in demeanor from cool and collected to panic. Fantastic animation.
Another character like Silco is Kingpin from Daredevil Netflix. An evil man but with a noble goal and true love for a person. The final scene in Daredevil is like this too; Kingpin sacrifice his ambition for his loved one's freedom.
Instead of his usual "Jinx is perfect" in his final moments he tells her "You're perfect" Letting her know that she's perfect whether she chooses to be Jinx or Powder. Silco is the best kind of villain, absolutely evil and causes innocents to die but at the same time has depth, relatability, and redeeming qualities.
@@jaroslavsvaha6065 ^^ yeah this is it. i think him saying that was also one of the factors that pushed her to the jinx chair, because she remembered when he called jinx perfect.
Vi tells her it doesn't matter what she's done, how she's changed or who she is' Vi will still accept her and even after Vi, with no context, sees Powder try to murder her- Vi still is right there reaching out to help her sister. Nothing Powder says or does disuades Vi from trying to help her. Silco meanwhile does absolutely everything he can to force Powder to become what he thinks she should be. He lies to her about her families motives to manipulate her decision making, he feeds her fear and paranoia to manipulate who she trusts, he encourages her anger and even spends his last breaths trying to force her apart from her sister. Every action Silco takes is literally the opposite from "accepting her no matter what". He has an extremely narrow vision of who she should be and considers anything else wasteful and weak. The bizarre apologism for a character that is a truly horrific abuser of a mentally ill child is one of the strangest things I've seen in a fandom. Silco isn't just a villain; He's very much a monster and perpetuates the cycle of abuse through Powder.
I mean... no? He only said that to manipulate her further, even in his dying moments. He is an irredeemably evil, selfish master manipulator who cares for noone but himself.
The greatest show I have ever seen. Ever. I never even imagined a show could do what this show did to me. It permanently changed something in my head. I'm not sure it's a good thing. I cry over shit that never affected me before. I have watched this show so many times, I have watched so many reaction channels.........I have rewatched some reaction channels. Doesn't matter. It's the greatest show I have ever seen, because no show has ever crushed me like this. I never understood Catharsis before. Jinx is the greatest representation of a "broken toy" ever brought to screen. All of us are broken toys............I have never seen it like Arcane showed it........ 30 years ago I was the kid that other kids thought would do something crazy...........not fun crazy.....crazy crazy. Their parents usually thought worse. I did have a small group of friends and did prove to most of their parents I wasn't what many thought.
I really do like that final line "What could have been." You have the immediate few little changes and there is peace of a kind, but you have as well the much broader could have been. Imagine a world where Piltover isn't grinding down the undercity under its heel, a world where people like Powder and Ekko can put their clear genius to work in that university, and fulfil that desire to help and be useful so evident in them as children in a safe and caring environment. Such a world where the massively valuable human capital of the undercity isn't so carelessly wasted is the real lost opportunity. It is unfortunate to think that this also applies to the real world, it is a tragic thing to wonder just how many geniuses have been squandered in the slums of the world.
If I had to pick out one single moment that created Jinx... it would be the opening scene of the entire series. Vi is leading her vulnerable little sister onto a bridge of death and carnage... (very bad decision.. but that's kind of Vi's thing... she is fearless, relentless, and impulsive, which makes us respect her, but also leads inevitably to consistently unwise decisions) We can see from the framing and the scribbles in the opening scene that Powder is actually seeing everything on that bridge.. she's peeking through her fingers. What is the first thing she sees in the smoke on the bridge? An explosion and a flying body... followed by a point-blank execution by firearm.... the beginning of Jinx is that moment... those are even her specific themes. Vi doesn't create Jinx with the slap.. she simply NAMES her with the slap. Powder is already unstable, as demonstrated by her freakout when the kids leave her behind, as well as her active efforts to murder people with her toys.... I mean, she creates literal nail bombs as toys. She lobs Mouser at the boy chasing her and stares expectantly.. hoping, needing, wishing to see.... exactly what she saw on that bridge in the opening scene.. an explosion and a flying body... she is seriously disappointed when he is not maimed by her toy. The angst she has comes ultimately from the fact that she lives in the undercity... EVERYONE in the undercity has an inferiority complex, other than just a few individuals at the top of the ladder. The enforcers remind them at every opportunity that they are dirty trencher trash that deserve to live their miserable lives in the muck. That has an effect on people. Vi even explicitly mentions it on the bridge in episode 2: "I've lived my whole life knowing I'm less than them.. that my place is down there" Vi passes her angst on to Milo.. she actually bullies him a bit.. his theme seems to be "humiliate Milo and physically remind him of his place"... even Claggor does it to him. You can tell by the expressions on Vi's face when she does this that it isn't just her messing with her little brother.. she has actual disgust and scowls of anger on her face when she smacks Milo or kicks him. She is passing her angst to him, because that is how bullying works.. she is bullied by the world, and hands it to Milo.. who hands it to Powder by constantly reminding her how much of a screwup she is. The look on Milo's face in episode 3 when Vander tells him "you can do it" is really rough for me. This kid isn't given one single word of encouragement for 3 episodes.. nothing but crap from everyone around him... and his response to that single encouragement from Vander.. his eyes open wide.. he doesn't quite know how to respond to actual encouragement... truly sad growing up like that. Just a horrible place to grow up, the Undercity. I loved all of the kids, and wished I could give them a big hug and a better childhood, even if they were make believe.
What's even worse is that poor Milo dies immediately afterwards. He can't even enjoy his moment of triumph, and lives on as a ghost tormenting his younger sister into deeper psychosis.
Great analysis. The episode 1 opening scene applies to Violet. Violet is following Vander's footsteps. The parallel that Vander showed at the end of Episode 3 tells everything. -Vander chokes Silco on the bridge. (Silco's reaction: eyes wide open, looking frightened at Vander. Violet pinches her crying sister's cheeks hard. And gives it a new name. (Powder's reaction: She's crying into her sister's face.) great parallel Parallel as more images I may not have expressed my explanation well.
One thing I realized after many viewings: Jinx will talk, sometimes even argue, with the voices in her head. However, the only times she ever tells the voices to "Shut up" are times she's looking at Vi. There are sign of her not being mentally stable even back in act 1. You can see the scratchy lines taking over the screen even back as far as the very first scene. They just don't become prominent till act 2 when Vi isn't around warding off the bad thoughts. After that Mylo becomes the negative voice in her head. When she tells Mylo to shut up and then shoots his mannequin, she's really asking Vi to make the voices go away. She's not giving Vi to an opportunity to have Powder back. She's begging her to resurrect Powder, to take her back to the time when things were good and she warded off all the monsters in her head. Glad you enjoyed this so much because you had great insight. Though I feel guilty enjoying your pain so much. You were holding your breath in terror for moments there. Maybe I'm evil for enjoying it but its nice to see someone so invested. So... have you ever seen The Green Mile?.... (Yeah I'm definitely evil)
Someone elsethread pointed out that the voices don't come out when she's interacting with, or even fighting with Ekko. If you were evil, you'd suggest "Schindlers List" or "Marley and Me"
The monster you created. I don't think it was just about that one moment when Vi left her, and I don't think Jinx lied when she said it. This whole show is about things not said and left for the viewer to interpret. I think it's also about that Vi carried a lot of anger and violence, and Vi brought her little sister into that world of violence. Children learn through mimicing and Vi was her parent as much as her sister. Vi showed her to survive on the street through brutality, Vi taught her how to hate the enforcers. But Vi also had temper control issues. While she loved her sister dearly, she also beat her up. And if we look at the music video for Enemy, and we look at her childhood trauma, we see that temper control issue again with her sister. Exposing Powder to her inner violence. Jinx is Powder gone feral, her survival mode. It's the Vi-version of Powder that protects Powder from the monsters in the absence of Vi. With all her flaws. The monster who chases the monsters away.
Exactly, Jinx is Powder's monster to guard herself with without Vi, but also because of Vi. And Vi is implied to have a lot of anger issues and resentment towards the unfair world and hand they were delt. Implied that Ep3 wasn't the first time she hit Powder, you see powder flinch in one of the earlier moments between them when Vi gets mad. As much as she loves and admires Vi she also kinda hated and resented her. In a way, Powder/Jinx is the protagonist of season 1, and that makes Vi in fact the antagonist; not Silco, her supportive father.
This ending is soo good Vi failing Jinx’s questions. Silco not feeling hatred for Jinx after she shot him telling her she’s perfect. The revealing of fishbones with the red moon and Jinx using her ultimate super mega death rocket. I was screaming while crying. I can’t wait for season 2!
The questions she gets "wrong" are insane - kill Caitlyn and I'll be Powder again - (no she wouldn't). Several of Vi's replies are fine, "we'll always be sisters", "I never forgot about you", - Vi offers to leave with her sister and never come back - however, the voices in her head get in the way, and then she takes Silco's gag off and he's straight in with his manipulation.
@@Hohum37 What manipulation? If giving someone your honest assessment and not being 100% correct is "manipulation", then humans need to stop speaking to each other forever. The things Vi fail are pretty obvious. The whole sequence is Jinx presenting herself, and begging Vi to meet her where she IS to figure out where to go. And EVERY TIME, Vi ignores the person she is in the room with and tries to speak to the person SHE reckons she knew almost a decade ago. How would you feel if someone you haven't seen since elementary school insisted on treating you as if you were unchanged since then, demanding that you BE unchanged, to the point of deadnaming you consistently? I wouldn't be thrilled. But no. Vi keeps trying to remind her of the bad old times that sucked for Powder even before the trauma. Mylo was an unmitigated asshole to her every moment of every day. Claggor was aloof and dismissive (also just enough older that it's fair, but Powder has little reason to be all misty-eyed over his memory even without the guilt. No significant positive interaction with Vander is shown, either, at any point in the show. Childhood was bad and ended in trauma, guilt and disaster. That's what Vi tries to bring her sister BACK TO. My school age, roughly Powder's age and before, was shitty and awful though nowhere near THAT bad, obviously. It stayed bad until I was 18-19. When Facebook "connected" everyone back in the day, people I knew then started reminiscing about the good old days... which confused me, because they genuinely felt that those days had been good. For me they were awful. But they were SO DAMN ANGRY when I pointed out that those times were shit and they had MADE those times shit for me. I get Vi longing back to the good times before her unjust incarceration, but in idealising those times, she leaves her sister by the wayside.
Eeeesh. Calm down. We can have different interpretations of what's happening. It's odd to me to think that Vi, after some very brief moments with her sister, after years apart, will manage to understand her psyche, as deeply broken as it is. Saying Vi's failing her seems like an odd reading of the situation to me.
It's tricky because just Silco and Jinx knowing that Marcus locked her up doesn't undo that they both believe Vi abandoned her that night. Silco doesn't know Vi tried to immediately run back for her (he wasn't there when Vi talked to Jinx on the tower). And for Jinx, just the act of walking away from her was abandoning her, I'll also add that Vi says, "I won't abandon you again." and this is why Jinx freaks out when she runs back for Caitlyn on the bridge and screams, "Liar!", it's also why she says, "You wouldn't lie to me, not again." Of course we know what's going on but it's so much more complicated for the characters involved.
I must say, the moment you recognized the Talis simbol on the letter I thought: finally someone is paying real atention. Most people just missed it. You are amazing.
On Shimmer... When singed gives shimmer to Viktor he describes it as "a variant". We can assume that there are a few variants. Street shimmer is likely the stuff that Vander, Deckard, and Huck took. Addictive and causes mutation. The shimmer that the apothecary sold to Caitlyn for her gun only had a single drop of shimmer mixed into a potion for healing.
"I didn't see it" Lol, I didn't see Jinx standing behind Caitlyn either until I saw reaction videos of episode 8. There are so many details in this you can't catch everything, especially on the first viewing. It took me a lot of time to realise that the painting in Mel's bedroom is the exact scene she witnessed in her flashback even though the transition should make it clear for example. "She doesn't exist in the game" Nope Sevika was created for Arcane. But frankly I wouldn't be surprised if she made appearances in games now. She grew into one of my favorite characters, I really love her. Plus she's a tragic character: She can't play a card game, go to the brothel or even have a drink without Vi suddenly appearing and beating the shit out of her xD. And when it's not Vi, she's Jinx's punching bag instead. Must be hard to be Sevika, working hard, keeping everything together only to have one of two sister randomly appearing and ruining your whole day! The scene of Sevika showing her loyalty to Silco is a bit of a double-edged sword though. She's absolutely threatening him in that scene between the fact that she let him believe she might kill him instead of warning him beforehand and her "not for a worm like him" implying she'd change side in a heartbeat if a leader that's better for Zaun showed up. She's giving him an ultimatum in that scene, ala "get your shit in order or it might be you next time". "the hextech transports" Not quite, that was the point of the matrix. Magic can do pretty much anything, the only reason it merely transported before that was that Jayce only saw one spell in his life and it was a teleportation spell so he reproduced those specific runes in a specific order and got the same result but Viktor's matrix is about unlocking other functions (and maybe even more since he speaks about hextech learning). I know this is originally Jayce's work, but I'm more impressed with Viktor's scientific prowess in Arcane. In one night he figures out the problem Jayce was stuck on: Stabilizing the hex crystal's power. And now he's the one to expand hextech beyond a single function. Considering how he remembered the teleportation spell, Jayce does seem to have a photographic memory though, so that's impressive at least. As to the survivors, my best guess as a non player (well I did play a bit of lol but only a bit and it was so long ago Jinx wasn't even a hero yet), Viktor should be fine thanks to hextech and shimmer, Jayce might also be fine if he has the hexshield he showed in episode 8. Mel has completed her arc so she very much has a death flag but she's the daughter of a Noxian warlord so she might have a trick up her sleeve against assassinations. I'm still assuming she's dead until proven otherwise though, especially with the complete chaos it would cause with Mel's mom who now would have two reasons to attack Zaun/Piltover (avenging her daughter and taking the hextech for herself). Caitlyn's mom is almost certainly dead considering the drama it would cause between her, Vi and Jinx and the three minor councillors (Hoskel, Salo and the robot guy) are probably done for if only to show the power of hextech weaponry.
Thanks so much for the reactions! I wanted to share my thoughts on Jinx's line that you discussed a bit in your afterthoughts. "I thought maybe you could love me like you used to. Even though I'm... different." - Jinx I understand where you are coming from when you say that sisterly love, or any familial love for that matter, wouldn't break apart from one instance. However, I think it's perfectly understandable to think that Vi might not have been able to love Jinx the same way as she had. There are several reasons for this, but I think two that stand out are the following: 1) The entire series Vi is trying to get "Powder" back. We never really see Vi accept that jinx is a much different person. She is fighting to get "powder" back, not necessarily just reunite with Jinx. Jinx knows this, but I think Jinx also knows that she can never go back to being "Powder." She has changed drastically. More so than any other character in the series. She has arguably also gone through the most traumatic experiences as well. Yes, you can argue that Vi lost her family to, but let's be honest. We all know that Jinx is the one that pulled the trigger and that has a huge impact. 2)We see in the final scene that Vi is speechless. She doesn't know what to say or how to respond to Jinx. She doesn't say a single word once Jinx sits in the chair labeled "jinx." I interpret this as Vi kind of accepting that she doesn't know anymore if she loves the person in front of her the same way. I'm not saying that she couldn't love Jinx the same way as before, but even Vi herself isn't sure if she could. The truth is no one really knows and we will never find out. One final thing to mention is that I'm not sure Jinx would want to be close to Vi either. Jinx thinks of herself as a Jinx. A person who brings chaos and loss to everyone around her. If Jinx still loves Vi and thinks of her as a sister, then it kind of makes sense that she wouldn't want to endanger Vi in any way. This is also backed by the fact that she leaves Caitlyn alive with Vi. She knows Vi loves Caitlyn and I think deep down Jinx wants Vi to be happy. However, Jinx also wants to bring chaos to the ones that made her life miserable. Jinx is partly a consequence of the upper city and the neglect they has towards the under city. She wants to make the council pay, and so Silco's words "We'll show them... We will show them all" echos through her mind as she fires that rocket right towards them. The story is truly tragic, and Jinx stands at the center of it all. I love it so much though 🥲
I like your analysis. Pretty spot on with mine. A lot of people underestimate Jinx's intelligence; not the fact she can make weapons from scratch, but perception and reading people. Despite her issues, she can see where problems are and what they are. The only thing is that she handles it in her own way.
Among the many heartbreaking aspects of this show and this episode, Jinx's final scenes haunt me. You can see the resignation inside of her after she kills Silco; it's in her expression, her eyes, her body language, and how she moves. As it turns out, Mylo was right, all those years ago: She's a jinx. And if she's a jinx, then she will be the biggest, baddest jinx Piltover and the undercity have ever seen. No truce. No negotiations. And no peace. She'll show them all. Let it all burn, and let chaos reign. War is coming...
I'm not so sure war is coming. From a storytelling standpoint they will (hopefully) likely want to keep it character driven, not combat/spectacle (event) driven. It's possible to do this, but constantly raising the stakes can be a trap best not fallen into. For an example of a background of war, but it's really all about characters, watch Jean-Paul Rappeneau's "Cyrano De Bergerac" (1990) - (in French, with subtitles, the English dub voice acting isn't good enough) - it's a masterpiece, on a level with Arcane imo - and I don't say that lightly.
@@Hohum37 Good points, but I also feel that war is inevitable, given Jinx's attack on the council. Another time skip perhaps? We could hear the characters talk about the war and see it in brief flashbacks.
@@Shax22132 I doubt that they want to have exposition dumps, so flashbacks would be more likely. I'm dubious about another time skip. Whatever they come up with, it will be better than any prediction I make.
There is a moment i like to highlight in this episode. When Jinx brings out the tray, every single person i've seen react to this has the same reaction. They hold their breath and wait in stunned fear for the reveal. Even the people who play the game and know that Caitlyn can't die are still utterly terrified for a moment. The fact that we as an audience wholeheartedly believe that Jinx is capable and willing to present Cait's severed head on a platter is a testament to just how strong the writing is. Everything Jinx's has done up till that point primes us for that moment, her deterioating mental health, her theatrical violence, her willingness to kill and hatred of Cait. Every moment leads to this and it comes together so well that even people who logically know she has to survive are instinctively terrified she doesn't. It's a small moment amongst so many brilliant ones but it always stood out to me. Love your reactions :)
This show is a must _re-watch_. My first time through the stress of the situations gave me tunnel vision. There are so many brilliant details that are easy to lose in the distraction of wondering what's going to happen next. The dialogue and the actions of characters also hit different when the viewer replaces hope with lament. I think the story actually gets sadder with familiarity. Yay tragedy!
I rewatched the first episode a few days ago and just realizing that Powder was already mentally broken from the very first scene kind of caught me by surprise. The evil scratches over the enforcers faces showed right when that break was occurring. The show is not only consistent but it is so well thought out and planned. I can see why something took six years because there is so much effort being put into it
@@funnylilgalreacts yeah, coming from a casual and very occasional player of the game, but enjoying playing Jinx, I was already familiar with her character quotes, so I was looking for brokenness/insanity/depravity, or at least it's beginnings. I never noticed the bridge scene as it starts, so I need to look for that, but for me it was in ep.3 when she's crying out being left behind. That grief paired almost with a...hyperactivity?...was just unhinged.
About Sevika - I'm quite sure she's not loyal to any person but loyal to her cause. Whether it's specifically for Zaun's sovereignty, or for Zaun to match Piltover's military might, I'm not sure, but it's somewhere in that ballpark. That being said, for me, she's the definition of a fantastic supporting character with potential to being raised to the main cast in S2. I'd like to see her character put to a bigger test of her integrity - if someone who's her enemy aligns with her cause, will she join with them, or refuse out of spite? I think there's a high likelihood that Sevika's goals may align close to VI's and even the Firelights, and depending on how she handles that, she may become among my favorite overall characters.
By the way Sevika is loyal mostly to the cause... her saying "but he won't be the last" is saying the next guy competent enough and worthy... she'd get rid of him whenever aslong as she has more trust in them fighting for Zaun.
This is honestly one of the best Arcane reactions ever. Like i’ve only seen this one, but i’m positive. I’m like obsessed with your energy? You’re kind of awkward but in the most lovable and positive way possible , and so emotionally invested in the characters? And honest and genuine In your reactions Idk you’re just great 😭 so glad I found your channel 💜💜💜
I love how the episode starts right off the bat. Vi telling Jayce that he didn't have a choice, when just prior Viktor tells Jayce that there is ALWAYS a choice.
the monster Piltover created is Zaun. The title applies to almost everyone in this show. I really enjoyed following you through this rollercoaster of emotions, Arcane is nothing less than a masterpiece of writing and acting. If you want some more of Arcane, i suggest the "Enemy" music video by Imagine Dragons, if you want a little more of Jinx before the next season shakes up this world, you can watch "get jinxed", a 8 year old music video which was published with the release of Jinx in the game. And finally, "Harley Quinn vs Jinx Death Battle", a final stand-off between those two always compared and yet so different strong female anagonists. I would love to see you react to those as well, for now, just have a beautiful night :)
Let me preface by saying that this is, by far, my favorite reaction series to Arcane. I've watched several, and as many as have been complimentary and approving, I feel like you might be the first reactor to see this work all the way down to the bone like I felt that I did. An absolute masterpiece, and I can't wait for more. If you're interested in going a little further down the rabbit hole with this one, a favorite channel of mine is schnee on TH-cam. He does a lot of really in depth analysis on the writing of Arcane which, even after multiple rewatches and watching countless reactions, really helped to reframe the way I view the events of this show. I kinda can't wait to watch it again after seeing a lot of his breakdowns and honestly, this reaction series. Another good TH-camr is T B Skyen. He's an animator who does close up analysis of how Arcane does characterization so well through its art. He also does a lot of shorts that give quick break downs of the multitude of League of Legends characters (Riot tends to do cool design first, lore second, but the lore is usually very compelling once it's in place, Arcane being the best example of that). As far as recommendations, Invincible will be a slight step down from this, but it's not NOT worth your time, especially if you liked The Boys. And it's quick. I would suggest doing that next as kind of a palette cleanser before starting Airbender, which is an absolute must. Happy (sometimes?) watching, and best of luck with the channel! M
The raw reactions you choose to share and expose is a beautiful thing. Not to mention the way you analyse the shows you watch. You should be proud, you are an amazing person. Thank you! Like you said, most dont understand how much of a masterpiece this show really is. You've got to be ready and willing to take from the lessons and insights the stories/masterpieces like this one are trying to share.
I didn’t feel like talking. I was actually gonna come back the next day and give a commentary and I was like “that’s not what I do” so I made myself talk about it. Which I think it was very therapeutic
Sevika and Vi having their fight in the bar is amazing. Two powerful women just going at it. That scene was so well made! And yes, that goes for all of Arcane; the voicework and the animation is amazing. Add in a dose of good storytelling, and I'm sold! And, I have to admit, I never saw Jinx in the mirror last episode either (and I've seen that scene about 5-6 times). I remember half-sobbing my way through about 50% of this episode. That song with Sting singing at the end, just made the bittersweet ending really hit home. *chef's kiss* Loved it, and glad to see you enjoying Arcane as well! Now we just have to sit back and wait for Season 2.
Cool parallel that first episode with Echo, said he sold bunch of junk to someone who didn't even haggle. Second ep were young Kate with box of stuff with Jayce going to his office. Thats the stuff Jayce bought from Echo at double the cost...Which goes with Jayce didn't haggle with the terms of independece.
Seeing this in my feed, and my first thought was: "She's boarding the rollercoaster." So much nuance and depth in this episode, and Arcane as a whole, I love it.
@@funnylilgalreacts Seconded! The impact Arcane will have in the field of animation and storytelling in general will be immense. I know it changed my own perception of narrative writing.
"I have some mixed feelings...". That pretty well sums up my initial reaction as well. It's complexity is why it is so compelling, IMHO. You and I share an unfortunate commonality, as we've both lost a sister far too early in life. So, as you can imagine, this show hit me like truck. While the series itself is therapeutic in a way, watching your reactions is an absolute pleasure. Arcane is the first of your reactions I've watched and I'm hooked. You've got an aura of wisdom about you and your empathy is palpable. Thank you for being so open with your emotions and life experiences, you're a real one 😉.
Those amazing vocals in the song as the rocket flies are by Sting. Yes, THE Sting. The power and emotion he brings to the song are incredible. There is a live performance of him singing this.
There is an excellent youtube video "The Making of ‘What Could Have Been’ from Arcane | Sting ft. Ray Chen" by the co-composer of that song. It gives a great insight into the amount of care, attention to detail and creative effort that went into just a small part of the sound track.
Loved Silco saying to Vander that now he understands him: now he knows what means to have a daughter. Like you said, Vi is the only one who never really changes: always not-solving things with her fists. Cait is the real, maybe unique, good character in Arcane: even if very naive, due to her growing up. I loved Mel’s development too: she goes from the cold manipulative politicians, who didn’t even understand Jayce friendship with Viktor, to the one routing for peace. Nobody borns and want to be a monster, “I am the monster you created”. You keep people angry, hungry, lonely, betrayed, at war and you get Silcos, Jinxes, Savikas and, later on, Viktors. I think we are gonna see the real Jinx in second season, because until the very end she’s just tried to be what Vi and Silco wanted her to be.
Ever since I stumbled over your channel (what a luck that was) I feared to see your reaction to "Are we still sisters?"..😭 Thanks for sharing all your emotions and thoughts with us. You have a brillant observation! There is one thing you probably got wrong here though. Viktor (his leg) isn't corrupted by the shimmer. It's the hexcore. The shimmer helps him survive the process and not end up like the plants. Thats why Sky actually saved his life by stepping in. Viktor had no more shimmer this time and the hexcore would have destroyed him if it wasn't for Sky to take the damage. Unfortunatly, Singed won't be able to save Silco I fear. He is very busy with an other experiment (seen in his last appearence). You will not like it and with your observation skills I'm sure you will find out.. Things you could/should watch: The Enemy music video shows some backstory to Arcane that has not been seen in the show and there is a tiny teaser for season 2 out. I would suppose to dive in the League cinematics but this will be a "rabbit hole" for sure. Yet, they are stunning and not only will you meet some of our beloved Arcane characters in it from time to time, you'll also witness how huge this whole world actually is and what other characters it will have to offer. Piltover & Zaun is just a tiny peace of it. You don't even know 10 champions from League, but there are about 160! Thanks for everything (so far).. 🙏😃❤️
this has been one of the best arcane reaction series i've watched (and i have watched literally all of them). thank you for your insight and your willingness to share your emotions with us, i love what this show brings out in its audience and the ways we can all connect to each other because of it ❤️❤️
When Jinx fired that rocket, she made the choice to be fully herself and commit to her Father's dream : to get back at Piltover and stand up for the nation of Zaun. When Jinx sits at the Jinx chair and confronts Vi one last time, she's saying goodbye. She is Jinx and yeah that moment when Vi left Jinx made Jinx. It may have only been a moment, but it was a defining moment that spanned for years afterwards. That changed Powder into Jinx and when Jinx shot Silco and Silco told her "don't cry, you're perfect." Jinx realized that she was Jinx - that's who she is now. And she fully embraces it. Vi thinks she can get Powder back, but Powder is gone. That's one thing Silco understood that Vi didn't. And that's why Jinx said "I thought you could love me like you used to" but the fact of the matter is Vi just can't do that. Jinx wants to kill Caitlyn, she wants to kill enforcers. She chose the path of destruction. Vi chose the path that Vander had chosen. Jinx is Silco's daughter, Vi is Vander's daughter. That's the parallel the show is trying to make. And since Arcane is a frigging masterpiece, the irony in all this is that Jinx fires that rocket towards the council to honor Silco's memory. But unbeknownst to her, she will completely destroy what Silco had worked all his life to achieve : the nation of Zaun. She "jinxed" everything, one last ultimate time. The irony is she's exactly what she is and what Silco wants her to be : herself. A Jinx. Jinx. And her final act is to jinx the peace treaty and the amendment of the Nation of Zaun. Masterpiece.
This might be the best example of a soundtrack and an emotional moment enhancing each other. I still feel all emotional when Sting says, "Why don't you love who I am?"
That’s the line that hits me the hardest. I think maybe we’ve all felt that way but in the context of Jinx and Vi, it’s heartbreaking. Jinx choosing to sit in the “Jinx” chair was her choosing to never be Powder again. She knows Vi doesn’t accept Jinx. Especially after Silco reaffirmed Jinx is perfect.
When Jinx asks Vi with reference to Catilyn to "Make her go away, send her on her way...please" That is a reference to the game they used to play where Vi would create a monster and then scare it away. Shows that to Jinx, Catilyn is a monster. She is asking her sister to make the monster go.
This was longer then intended but some important clarifications was imo needed. At the end there is a very intresting theory that Silco is actully trying to protect Jinx in that whole scene. Vi is trying to get Powder back but regardless how mutch she is trying it´s just not gonna happen Jinx is to far gone to just do a 180 and turn into Powder again. That being said Jinx have clearly shown not to be just this crazy person. I think Jinx is testing VI through out that entire table scene. Jinx asks VI to make Cait go away, she dosent say kill Caitlyn just make her go away just like VI chased the monsters away when they were young. VI could push Caitlyn away right there to prove to Jinx she is more important. VI even hade the thought just like MANY ppl did that she brought Caitlyns head instead of the cupcake. Jinx even commented that "i´m not that crazy" Now the Jinx/Powder chairs. Where shall i sitt could be a test to se if VI can accept Jinx the way she is or if she only cares for the Powder part that is left in her. Jinx even stumbles when VI say we can leave all this behind and just run away leaving everything behind us and start over again. This could be a hint to Jinx that VI could accept her when she then stumbles asking where they go. Here comes the intresting part about what Silco is saying. "Her name is Jinx" Silco knows that the past is haunting Jinx as we can se almost every single time Jinx thinks about the past she dosent se happy memorys but instead sees haunting visions looking like monsters. Before Jinx totally snapps and kills Silco we can se VI yelling at Jinx to remember Milo, Clagger and Vander but what does Jinx se. All she sees are monsters haunting her and now Silco knowing what this does to Jinx he goes berserk doing anything and everything to break free and to make those vision go away. Jinx reacts to the gun and kills him as a result. We are meant to think that Silco is this super evil caracter that does anything to get what he wants and when he is getting it offered right infront of him he cant take it. "I never would have given u to them, U are perfect" While it may sound abit far fetched at times i have absolutly no doubt that Silcos intention was 100% protecting Jinx from VI and the monsters at the end. Jinx gave VI multiple chanses to show that she could accept her the way she is at the table. The cupcake she thought Jinx killed Caitlyn, The gun VI thinks Jinx wants her to kill Caitlyn, The chairs, Jinx asks where should i sit? Can VI accept both the Powder and Jinx part of her. And what i think was the final tipping point VI never realized the pain and horror Jinx goes through when thinking about the past and VI forced those memorys upon her to the point that she killed Silco the ONLY ONE! that trully understands and accepts her the way she is. Jinx herself in the end says that i thought u could love me like u use to, even though i´m... diffrent. Another big hint that Jinx was testing VI to se if she could ever accept her.
Good analysis. Did you see the ashtray and cup on the Silco table, gifted by Jinx? I wonder if we'll get flashbacks featuring Jinx and Silco in season 2. It would be great.
I loved that after Silco got shot by Jinx. Even in his final moments Silco didn’t feel betrayed or hatred towards Jinx. Instead he says “Don’t cry, your perfect”. That had me tearing up
Yeah, I find an interesting parallel between what transpires between Vi and Powder at the end of episode 3 and what happens here between Silco and Jinx. In both cases she has harmed her family, in the first instance she is verbally assaulted "Because you're a Jinx, Milo was right" and in the second she is reassured "I never would have given you to them, not for anything... you're perfect" He may not have been the ideal father, but in that single moment he succeeds where Vi had failed years before.
I can't begin to express how thrilled I was to hear you call out Heimerdinger for what he said. I love him as much as everyone but it's entirely true that the circumstances in the undercity were allowed to get out of hand cause they're an after thought to the council. And especially when he goes down there, and then shies away from all of the negativity and then has the gall to say he came to help. Like you said, he did absolutely nothing but get immediately discouraged and leave. No one ever points that out and it's bothered me to no end. The amount of time you spend considering these stories and characters is why you're one of my faves. I've actually waited this long to watch your Arcane reactions cause I've been wanting to join your patreon for the full length, but I just never have the time so I finally decided to just watch here. I'm glad I finally did.
Never had a show hit me so hard emotionally while looking so pretty… I have to commend everyone that worked on Arcane for taking us on this roller coaster of emotions. Can’t wait for season 2.
This is the first series reaction I’ve watched on your channel and I loved it. You are so genuine and I also enjoyed listening to your insights afterwards too. I know you recorded this 2 years ago and you might have already seen it, but there is a great series on Riot’s TH-cam on how they made the series.
I thought Silco’s offer was valid especially when Jayce told him “your people would be annihilated”. Silco knows this and sees Jayce is having difficulties handling killing one kid. Thus what is really getting traded there is Jayces sanity. Silco is thinking “Go ahead and annihilate us. You won’t be able to sleep well for the rest of your life if you do. But it’s either that or this.”
Ep 9. Silco, referring to Jayce: "All we ever wanted. The boy didn't even haggle." Ep 1. Ekko,. referring to Jayce: "He paid in gold and didn't even haggle. I charged him double price, sucker."
I also think Jayce was overselling it by a ton. Yes they have hextech and if they mass produced weapons maybe they would slaughter but mass production is a ways off and those enforcers with guns vs people on shimmer? They were demolished in seconds. Not that everyone on shimmer is that good but... I feel like it would be really bad for both sides if they went to war.
It has also been Silco's strategy all along. Back in ep 3, when Vander says that even with the shimmer monsters, Silco couldn't beat Piltover, Silco's response is that he doesn't have to... he just has to scare them. Silco has Piltover pegged. He knows exactly what their limits are, and Jayce is simply the embodiment of that.
I have just finished watching all your arcane reaction and commentary videos, and I have to say that I am impressed. You really speak your mind and express your feelings about the plot and characters in a coherent and meaningful way. This is not the first set reaction videos of TH-camrs watching arcane I have seen, but it is one of the best. Your emotions and how you connected you are to the characters and events was so beautiful to witness. My only grievance was that you didn't watch the "Enemy" music video before watching episode 7. It would have made the fight between Jinx and Ekko that much more meaningful. You get a real sense that Ekko and Powder were akin to best friends, so it really hurts to see them fight later in episode 7.
That dinner scene is just full of stuff that can be missed or interpreted in many ways. I love how Jinx took the time not only to doodle all over the atlas gauntlets but she also repaired the one that got damaged in the fight. The fact that Caithlyn is dressed, not just in some casual clothing she quickly put on but in her enforcer uniform, is kinda scary to me. I can't imagine Jinx knocking her out and dressing her, which means Caithlyn most likely had to dress herself while Jinx was holding her at gunpoint. I also like that Silco's first words in that scene are in defence of Jinx. When I watched the scene for the first time I thought it was just to act against Vi, but I now feel, that he is more angry, that Vi keeps deadnaming his daughter. Also, the Voice Acting in this scene is great. It always gives me the shivers when Jinx asks Vi if they are still sisters.
Damn, i love Arcane. Such calibre Villain we rarely get. You can kind of understand him, his motivation, his driving force. And you end up saddened by his death. Super well done. Also, this show is Realistic in many ways, not in that extreme, but still. Rich have no Clue how poor lives, and poor are left neglected. And there are many places where this is the case in real life. From Russia and it's Moscow and villages outside is like night and day. US with it's homelessness problem and so on. Also, i loved how you get short flashback every episode to flash out characters in the show. Well done. That's what you get when you do show with your own ideas and your own story, and you give us something new. instead of just handing it to Netflix to butcher it, to try to milk existing property
33:26 Jinx hears the voices in her head say "It's time to leave them" then raises her gun and yells trying to bait Caitlyn to shoot her and end it all.
This is hinted at throughout. The biggest one being when she shoots the crow in the arcade (the crow is Jinx, they follow her throughout the show and show up as her background "mascot" during the bridge fight scene vs Ekko.) Taunting Sevika in episode 4, playing chicken with the grenades in her "room". The bridge fight ending, the look of "finally" and acceptance on her face before releasing the grenade.
I love that because Vi is such a strong character that has gone through so much, a viewer can’t help but to fall into her gravity. People side with her almost automatically, and that blinds them to her faults. She messes up a lot in this show, and often her strengths are precisely what get her into trouble. Besides the creation of Jynx in episode 3, I think my favorite illustration of this is her meeting with the council. It’s fascinating to watch people view that scene for the first time. Initially, they all side with Mel and Caitlin against Jayce, thinking that peace is the right way to go, but as soon as Vi pipes up saying that Silco can’t be reasoned with, viewers become instantly conflicted. Upon second viewing, it’s obvious that Vi simply never understood what motivated Silco, and subsequently, never understood that he really was Jynx’s father figure in a way that even Vander never was.
I find Vi and Powder/Jinx's characters and flaws an interesting study in contrasts. With Vi, she has a charisma to her that draws people to want to follow her lead. However, she often sets up walls to not let people in and instead shoulder the burden all on her own. With Powder/Jinx, she just wants to feel loved but instead always feels that she is being betrayed or abused by the people in her life. Which causes her to lash out and do whatever it takes to hold onto those very people who are betraying or abusing her. Interestingly though, I also feel that for all her paranoia, Jinx was accurate about her assessment of Vi. While Vi would probably still care for her, she probably wouldn't have been able to accept Jinx's more violent tendencies and morality.
Jinx was also right about Vi replacing her with Cait. Now that Vi knows the real Jinx, and how far gone she is, she will need someone else to love. Vi just got out of prison, all of her old family has been dead for years. All she has is Caitlyn and Ekko now. Caitlyn is also the polar opposite of Jinx, so the more Vi associates with one, the less she can be with the other. She can only be with one gun toting blue haired girl, not both. She can choose her family (Jinx) or not loosing her good heart/moral compass (Caitlyn). The two core values she has are now mutually exclusive. Jinx was paranoid, but she was right. We will especially see this when Vi becomes an Enforcer, the very thing she once hated. This is partly what Jinx meant by "you changed too" as the camera was on Caitlyn. The old Vi wouldn't be hanging out and hugging all over some Piltie Enforcer. She changed too.
I enjoyed going through all of your reactions, and I'm so glad that you liked the show! A couple small callbacks in this episode that I like: Vi's standoff with Jayce is like her confrontation with Deckard and his knife after the street fight in the first episode; "didn't even haggle" is consistent with Jayce buying gear from Ekko, as he tells Claggor; and Vi's line to Powder about "what makes you different makes you strong" hits harder after hearing Jinx say that she wishes she could be loved like she used to be, even though she's different. Also cool how Vi activates the gauntlet shield by blocking, not usually her go to. She's also rewarded for blocking in the bridge fight in episode three when she counters the big guy. I do think that Silco was the only one willing to give Jinx unconditional acceptance in the end - maybe Vi could get there too, with time, but she's still hanging on to Powder. Just adds to the tragedy, I suppose. Such great characters, great writing, and wonderfully artful presentation throughout. My favourite show in quite some time. I've also really liked the psychologist reactions that I've watched, would highly recommend!
“You’re perfect”. So beautifully written. The validation of a “parent” to a “child”. She was so scarred for so many reasons. Really from the first scene of episode one…and the ongoing trauma. This series should be studied by film schools and writers. Perhaps even psychologists. I told you when I saw your first react to the series. 3, 7, and 9. All episodes are great. But those three are at another level. I’m actually in a funk just waiting for season two.
Sevika's loyalty is to a shared vision of an independent Zaun. We will never know if she would have accepted Silco's choice to not give up Jinx for independence.
I think Sevika is more loyal to the cause than to Silco, and she "has more in common with cave lice than with Jinx". You're right though... we'll never know... unless a similar choice comes up in season 2 for her...
Fun fact: Jinx's rocket launcher is called Fishbones and is very much a tribute to Silco. It has one bad eye, just like Silco and is a shark, since Silco loves fishes. In ep. 1 i believe, when Silco is introduced, we can see a fish swimming in the background.
It's not about silco thats why jinx made fishbone a shark.. When she was a kid you can see that she drew sharks and she also got a shark pillow.. Meaning she just like shark
@@mhel8757 Both are not necessarily mutualy exclusive. She can love shark AND also make it for Silco since he likes sharks too. That way, it reminds her of him through a passion they shared.
Thank you for doing these reaction videos. Glad you enjoy Arcane as much as lots of us did. Love your thoughts and comments too, very sincere and heartfelt, not superficial just to get views count like some others. See you back in season 2 !!!!
Who created Jinx? How far back can you go? Powder? Vi? Silco? Vander? If you wanted, you could take it all the way back to the creation of the Undercity, and the inequality that gave rise to people like Vander and Silco. The Council had endless chances to do something to lift up Zaun, but even when Hextech enriched them, they chose only to lift they highest. They made Jinx, or someone like her, inevitable. The sad thing is Silco was right when he said "You'll be with her a day before she realizes you aren't that girl anymore and turns her back on you" to Vi. Powder is gone, and Vi, like so many other people, is focused on trying to bring back the past, but it's impossible. You can't turn back the clock. I think the Hexcore *punished* Viktor. It punished him for trying to kill it.
Glad you liked Sevika! There's just something about her; I believe she might be my favorite side character in the show. She doesn't say much, but everything she does rounds her very well, and even though she's an antagonist I can't help but root for her in some way. I also wonder what Silco's death means for her, I don't think she's interested in being a leader. Season 2 has so many possible directions to take, now that Jinx's arc is over, and that's not even taking into account some other characters from the game that are likely to show up and were teased as early as episode 2.
I really started liking her in the last three episodes, but her showing loyalty to Silco sealed the deal. I had a little chip on my shoulder because of how she talked to Vander, and how she was kind of pissy with Jinx (which now I wish I could take back because she was right). She’s a bad ass I am looking forward to seeing her more next season. I don’t even know what I’m gonna do without Silco…. I’m still so upset he’s gone.
@@funnylilgalreactsThere's an interesting theory going around that Silco might appear as another of Jinx's hallucinations, akin to Mylo, except more positive, or at least supportive. Although that still doesn't bode well for others, considering the type of shenanigans Jinx might be up to.
That ending leaves everyone speechless. I think Vi sees herself as a monster for punching and calling Powder a jinx. Also, I believe that Sky's consciousness is inside the Hexcore and it's a plot point that will return back in Season 2. Viktor's leg looks different than other shimmer mutations because it's mixed with not only shimmer, but also Hextech and his leg brace. Sevika isn't necessarily loyal to Silco, but to his cause. If there was anyone who was fighting for the same cause as Silco, that Sevika saw as a better leader, she would betray him. Her saying "But he won't be the last" was a wake up call to Silco to step up his game. Have you noticed the body hanging in Singed's lab? What are your thoughts on that?
Avatar the last airbender is another masterpiece of a show. Its not as concise as Arcane or as adult but I think many people still consider it a masterpiece myself included.
A couple of callbacks in this episode. "Am I interrupting?" between Jayce and Viktor when they're taking turns to save each other from themselves. "The boy didn't even haggle." Jayce never haggled for the illegal goods he bought from Ekko that he used in his experiments and he does not haggle with Silco to sue for peace.
Remember how the Firleights panicked when they realized they were stuck in a room with Jinx? And that was before her shimmering up. Now he's become the thing that goes boom in the dark … But I liked her ninja reveals, especially the one at the bar. And also that she was able to carry her unconscious sister and the broken gauntlets all the way to the old factory … among other things. (Guess where the music box from the apartment has been during the last years?)
This episode makes things to people. In my case, I was also speechless, but also so proud this was so well done and featured the characters I've been loving many years now, so others are able to watch and love them too. I can only hope we keep on getting a similar level on future seasons (hopefully more than S2) but if not, it would be fine as well... because this season is already a work of art showing you can achieve this level of narrative in animation. I am very happy to be alive so I could watch this and also share the journey with others. Thanks for making such great reactions and allow people to watch along!
Silco's death hits so hard because he isn't dying as a villain - he's dying as a father. There are plenty of great, relatable villains out there... but they almost always end up dying in the midst of, or as a result of, their villainy. It comes while they're trying to carry out their plan, or as a result of things they've done for the sake of their grand design. But Silco's death has almost nothing to do with his larger plans - he's literally just disavowed them - or the horrible things he's done to Zaun for the sake of his goals. He dies trying to protect his daughter from someone who was clearly causing her incredible pain, like any parent would want to do for their child. You can sympathize with a well-crafted villain dying as a result of their villainy, regret the loss, the waste of a life that was trying to do good in its own fucked up way but had to be stopped. But a parent being almost unknowingly killed by their child while they were trying to protect them, and accepting their death to the point that their last words to the kid that killed them are still full of love and acceptance? That's heartbreaking, even if that parent happens to also be a villain in other aspects of their life. In the moment, his villainy is all but forgotten, because the father is shining through so strongly.
@@Squeekysquid Am I saying that? He is the villain, all I’m saying is there are a lot of grey areas and they also manage to make you feel sympathy for or in some cases cry for the death of Silco. That is an impressive feat.
There’s a teaser for 2nd season ;)and I also suggest if you want to learn more about the world of arcane you should watch some of league’s cinematics, I would start from the tales of runeterra which will explain the regions
Loved your reactions to this series. Have to say the editing for the song that plays during the last part, with the rocket that hits the council chamber on the line "What could have been" was just *chef's kiss*. This show is worth every minute and like some people have commented this series was one of the first in a long time where I was actually kind of depressed when I finished the last episode. Fortunately it was announced that there will be a second season. There is a short teaser on TH-cam if you want to check it out.
funnylilgalreacts You should check out Schee's channel, it captures and tells a lot about all arcane scenes and characters. Even though it's been 6 months since Arcane came out, I can still see that he has discovered a lot of new things. You should definitely check out Schee's new video titled "GRAND UNIFIED BUNNY THEORY". He discovered something really cool about the Arcane characters. And there really is something very interesting about the characters. A therapist on the georgia dow channel presents and examines some arcane characters very well. I suggest you watch especially the one about Silco&Jinx. As an Arcane therapist, he's my personal #1.
What is weird or more tragic would be that perhaps she would have 4 pennies. Since in the original lore it is indicated that she killed her birth mother and father. Never stats how though. However; Arcane story line is not the canon universe. But canon and not canon is not something people who know League lore argue about since it all comes from the same people. Everyone just loves the stories for what they are.
Savika's loyalty is to The Cause. Always. She was loyal to Vander until she decided he wasn't good for the cause anymore. She continued to be loyal to Silco because she still felt he was the best one to lead. When Silco asks if she was tempted, she specifically says "Not for a worm like him, but there will be others." She's letting Silco know that her loyalty has limits, if he ever stops being what is best for Zaun, she's done with him. She is a patriot first and foremost, everything else is secondary.
Really enjoyed your reactions so I wanted to clarify something. I'm playing LoL for 12 years by now and I don't want to convince you start playing it, but if you don't it shouldn't be cuz someone said "Don't, it's toxic". It's as toxic as EVERY competetive scene with humans involved ... football, shooter games, w/e you name it. Not sure what a toxic game is, but it's the humans that make it that way, not the game. Football or chess aren't toxic, but the mental of the players may be. If we didn't support one of the biggest game in the world we would have not gotten Arcane. LoL didn't get this famous cuz it's a bad game. Objectively this just doesn't make sense and I hope you can argue better why you "would never play it". Not investing weeks of your time to learn a pretty hard game is a good reason imo :) I'm just sad people don't realize it's not a cool move to mix their personal frustration (after playing a free game for 100s of hours), cuz they can't climb in ranked, with new players expectations who have no clue about anything of LoL and can't really judge what value their opinion has and how biased it is. Preventing new ppl from starting the game doesn't get us Arcane 2.0 etc. Anyway I'm sure others told you but Riot - and why the community wanted movies/a series by Riot - always made great cinematics. A lot of Arcane reactors went down that rabbit hole with like weeks of content. Piltover/Zaun with it's like 8 champions are only a small town within Runeterra and atm 150+ champions which all have a great story to tell (hopefully soon as movies and more series). Would totally enjoy some of that from you :)
This show was the epitome of an emotional rollercoaster. I just binged all your reactions to this series, and I'm looking forward to S2. This show was an instant classic, and I'd even put it up there with _Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul_ & _Community_ on my list of favorite shows of all time for me. Visually stimulating *+* great story *=* What More Can You Ask For? 🤷🏾♂️
The most poignant scene in this, for me, was when we hear Silco’s final words to Jinx. “Don’t cry. You’re perfect.” A few scenes prior to this, we see Silco having a heart-to-heart with a statue of his “brother” - having finally realized what Vander meant. How Vander could so willingly walk away from the cause once he became a father to the kids. Everything he could have ever wanted, an independent nation of Zaun in his fingertips, yet there was no reality where he’d sacrifice Jinx; sacrifice his daughter, for his life’s work. What adds further heartbreak is that Silco’s final words to Jinx were everything she could have wanted. Being told that she’d never be abandoned, for anything, and that she’s perfect the way she is. Silco is certainly a villain. He either directly or indirectly was the cause of so much death in the under-city. He flooded the streets with Shimmer, he fostered a drug epidemic, he employed children as laborers in his refineries, and he certainly raised Powder in an environment not conducive to her mental health. Still, he grew a parental love for her, the love of a father, and even in his final words…after he’s been maimed fatally by his own daughter…he still doesn’t blame her. He could have had hate or anger in his heart in his final moments but instead, upon seeing his crying daughter, he consoles her and tells her that’s she’s perfect. I’ve re-watched the series three times and I’ve seen so many reactions to the finale and I can’t see that final scene without some waterworks. It was great to go on this journey with you and I hope you, like so many including myself, fill this post-Arcane slump with further Riot content. Enjoy the brilliant cinematics, the music, and I cannot stress enough how massive the library of content there is. Riot kills it at everything they do.
The only thing I disagree with is the whole "He employed children in his factories." Is it explicitly stated that he demanded or even encouraged such things? I thought of it more as when families would work on a farm and every able-bodied member would work to help support the family.
My friend, you are presenting unproven and unconfirmed things in a bad way by vilifying and misrepresenting the Silco character. What you wrote is just a hypothesis, there is a lot we don't know in terms of details, and you misrepresent what we know. @@MaskedMass I agree What I want to add: How Silco's releasing the shimmer onto the streets might help his cause. All we see is that he has Shimmer used in his own bar, there is no logical explanation for Silco's involvement in this case. (In the Underground City Independence Case) It is also not a potion belonging to Shimmer Silco. We know the ChemBarons exist outside of Silco and we know that the ChemBarons don't like Silco that much, they will do anything to make money. (They don't care about Silco's case, they're after getting rich. That's why Sevika didn't choose Finn.) We know that in Zaun many children are orphans and Shimmer runs their factory in their Chembaron. We know that the son of a member of the ChemBarons works at the factory and that the boy activated the security alert. Maybe the responsibility of that factory belongs to him. It's not nice of you to vilify the Silco character by misrepresenting "Spuriusrex" obvious or not. I want to point out that there is no villain in this series. Each character created another character. Silco is the monster created by Vander. The underground city (Zaun) is a monster created by Piltover and Heimerdinger. Jinx is a monster created by the Piltover council and its Practitioners. And it is the beast that will bring the end of Piltover. (End of chapter example) I don't think it's right to apply the dictionary meaning of bad guy to Silco. Silco doesn't quite fulfill the meaning of the word "bad guy". As far as I understand from his story.
@@n0bleonline222 bro, chill. I love Silco. He’s my favorite character. Getting booty-bothered is not necessary. It’s true, maybe Silco has had no involvement in the rampant spread of Shimmer on the streets, there are ChemBarons we haven’t even met I believe (i.e. “bigger fish than Silco”)…I’m not trying to vilify my favorite character but it would be difficult to not label him, at least, as an antagonist. A complicated antagonist who certainly isn’t completely “bad” but an antagonist nonetheless. He did manipulate and use Jinx at times for his own personal gain. He did bear responsibility in the deaths of many under-city residents as pointed out by Cait and Ekko. Honestly he’s a goal-driven man who won’t hesitate to do whatever is necessary to free the under-city of Piltover’s control. But his methods; his approach, at times exude a villainous label.
The whole Show can be summarized by viktor “in the pursuit of great we failed to do good”
That line hit so hard
So many GREAT lines like that in this series.
@@funnylilgalreacts and yet you cut it. :( That was one of the main parts of your reaction I was looking forward to (it hits hard for everyone)
the council voting for peace with silco not knowing he's dead, jinx' hextech fueled rocket hurdling towards them and breaching their space underscored with sting singing "what could have been" roll credits... what a masterpiece.

Omg, it was bad. It took like two weeks before I realized why I was so off. I'm doing better now, but damn...
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Arcane is a modern Greek tragedy. A story of people doing the best they can on a collision course with each other, a train wreck that we all see coming but can't look away from. Pure perfection.
I went into Arcane expecting a mash-up of crazy video game characters and crazy anime abilities. I got fkn Shakespeare.
Well said

@@matheussanthiago9685 Well, wherever this Cooper guy went, I hope he's OK.
To expand on Shakespeare, I see Vi and Kait as a Romeo and Juliet (obvious), while Jayce and Viktor are more of a Prospero and Caliban, and Silco as a MacBeth, and Powder/Jynx is Halmet.
@@coolbanana165 still, the writing is nonpareil in todays world. Most writing today is pathetic. This creates a 360 degree story.
This episode has two of my favorite storytelling tropes:
1) A character is offered exactly what they want most in the world, for the one price they're unwilling to pay.
Well said.
I mean, this isn't even really true. He clearly doesn't care about the people of Zaun in any way, all he cares about is himself.
Mel indicated she's done with her family. As shown by her removing her ring and also her mother looking upon her painting of home that Mel trashed. Great reactions throughout the series. One of my favorite shows ever.
I wouldn't say trashed, more like overwrote.
Mel didn't trash the painting. She covered the fleet of Noxus in waves of Piltover gold. She was showing who she was now and was rejecting her mother's offer to come back to Noxus.
Powders little drawings on Silco's ashtray always hurt me
omg I hadn't noticed it? Thanks for pointing it out.
This comment sums up most of the thoughts and analysis I had in my head. Truly a well said work of art. This is magnificent
@@funnylilgalreacts i've seen video analyst Schnee call him a 4D character (rightfully) as is Jinx
Instead of his usual "Jinx is perfect" in his final moments he tells her
"You're perfect"
Letting her know that she's perfect whether she chooses to be Jinx or Powder.
Silco is the best kind of villain, absolutely evil and causes innocents to die but at the same time has depth, relatability, and redeeming qualities.
er... not really. He said "you're" as in Jinx -- not Powder. He definitely don't like Powder.
Yeah I also read that differently. He said "Jinx is perfect" at first, and then "You're perfect" meaning "You're jinx"
Same. I find more depth in things then before. I read the emotions in a movie more then I did before. Is that weird? lol
Silco’s final scene. Tears every time. Masterful storytelling. 😭
There aren't many stories that can make you upset when a morally bankrupt villain dies. Such good writing.
(very bad decision.. but that's kind of Vi's thing... she is fearless, relentless, and impulsive, which makes us respect her, but also leads inevitably to consistently unwise decisions)
We can see from the framing and the scribbles in the opening scene that Powder is actually seeing everything on that bridge.. she's peeking through her fingers.
Vi even explicitly mentions it on the bridge in episode 2: "I've lived my whole life knowing I'm less than them.. that my place is down there"
Vi passes her angst on to Milo.. she actually bullies him a bit.. his theme seems to be "humiliate Milo and physically remind him of his place"... even Claggor does it to him.
(Powder's reaction: She's crying into her sister's face.)
great parallel
Parallel as more images
I may not have expressed my explanation well.
I don't think Vi really had much of a choice. There was probably war all around the undercity. They were just trying to find their parents.
Huh? Vi doesn't bully Mylo wtf? What show were you watching?
Well said *Applause*. I saw that powder had that madness in her too from the bridge scene episode 1.
I've loved your reaction to this show. It's so raw and so pure, it's great to see a reactor who cares so much about this show we love!
One thing I realized after many viewings:
Jinx will talk, sometimes even argue, with the voices in her head.
@@Hohum37 let's not kid ourselves. Vi failed Jinx from the beginning all the way to the end.
"Don't Cry, You're perfect" Always make me cry 😢.
Even though I'm... different." - Jinx
I understand where you are coming from when you say that sisterly love, or any familial love for that matter, wouldn't break apart from one instance. However, I think it's perfectly understandable to think that Vi might not have been able to love Jinx the same way as she had. There are several reasons for this, but I think two that stand out are the following:
1) The entire series Vi is trying to get "Powder" back.
"I literally couldn't find words for a solid 10 minutes" ...
... You and me both!
Among the many heartbreaking aspects of this show and this episode, Jinx's final scenes haunt me. You can see the resignation inside of her after she kills Silco; it's in her expression, her eyes, her body language, and how she moves. As it turns out, Mylo was right, all those years ago:
She's a jinx.
@@Hohum37 we do know from LOL lore that a war is started...
We also know of the existence of zaun...
In the lore zaun isn't a dream no more.
For sure. “Not for that worm” definitely meant someone deserving would get her loyalty. I actually admire that 😂
This is honestly one of the best Arcane reactions ever. Like i’ve only seen this one, but i’m positive.
I’m like obsessed with your energy? You’re kind of awkward but in the most lovable and positive way possible , and so emotionally invested in the characters? And honest and genuine In your reactions
Idk you’re just great 😭 so glad I found your channel 💜💜💜
Seeing Powder in the Enemy video is kind of heartbreaking after seeing Arcane - but worth it.

This episode cuts deep. I remember having a blank mind for half hour after the final scene and just processing it all
I didn’t feel like talking.
*chef's kiss*
Loved it, and glad to see you enjoying Arcane as well!
Seeing this in my feed, and my first thought was: "She's boarding the rollercoaster."
So much nuance and depth in this episode, and Arcane as a whole, I love it.
It was definitely a thrill ride. I’ve never experienced anything like it. It truly is a masterpiece ❤️
@@funnylilgalreacts Seconded! The impact Arcane will have in the field of animation and storytelling in general will be immense. I know it changed my own perception of narrative writing.
Ekko ep 1: the guy didn’t even haggle
Silco ep 9: the boy didn’t even haggle
Same line but different meaning to show how Jayce matured.
Oh my God I thought that song was so beautiful. As soon as you said it was Sting I was like “of course it is! “
There is an excellent youtube video "The Making of ‘What Could Have Been’ from Arcane | Sting ft. Ray Chen" by the co-composer of that song. It gives a great insight into the amount of care, attention to detail and creative effort that went into just a small part of the sound track.
I just about fell out of my chair when I found that out. Amazing song.
I just listened to it again because it’s such a beautiful song
This is the live video I mentioned th-cam.com/video/I1klbTzBQpk/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=thegameawards
Ever since I stumbled over your channel (what a luck that was) I feared to see your reaction to "Are we still sisters?"..😭
Thanks for sharing all your emotions and thoughts with us.
Things you could/should watch:
The Enemy music video shows some backstory to Arcane that has not been seen in the show and there is a tiny teaser for season 2 out.
Phenomenal analysis and I truly respect this
I've been waiting for this for so long! Buckle up it's going to be an emotional roller coaster!
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee
This might be the best example of a soundtrack and an emotional moment enhancing each other. I still feel all emotional when Sting says, "Why don't you love who I am?"
That’s the line that hits me the hardest. I think maybe we’ve all felt that way but in the context of Jinx and Vi, it’s heartbreaking. Jinx choosing to sit in the “Jinx” chair was her choosing to never be Powder again. She knows Vi doesn’t accept Jinx. Especially after Silco reaffirmed Jinx is perfect.
No words for 10 minutes - love it
When Jinx asks Vi with reference to Catilyn to "Make her go away, send her on her way...please" That is a reference to the game they used to play where Vi would create a monster and then scare it away.
That had me tearing up
I think he would have rather died than give her up. He didn’t have to choose anymore.
Yeah, I find an interesting parallel between what transpires between Vi and Powder at the end of episode 3 and what happens here between Silco and Jinx. In both cases she has harmed her family, in the first instance she is verbally assaulted "Because you're a Jinx, Milo was right" and in the second she is reassured "I never would have given you to them, not for anything... you're perfect" He may not have been the ideal father, but in that single moment he succeeds where Vi had failed years before.
ep 3 feels like a lifetime ago by the time we get here
*you're
I mean, yeah, why would he? That wouldn't serve his goals. Making sure that Jinx finishes what he started does.
Never had a show hit me so hard emotionally while looking so pretty…
I have to commend everyone that worked on Arcane for taking us on this roller coaster of emotions.
Silco is a very smart man and he had Jayce pegged immediately. He knew exactly why they were standing there, and it wasn’t out of goodwill.
Ep 9. Silco, referring to Jayce: "All we ever wanted. The boy didn't even haggle."
Ep 1. Ekko,. referring to Jayce: "He paid in gold and didn't even haggle.
@@Hohum37 good call I totally spaced on that.
Did she repair the gauntlet? Or was she just lifting them with Shimmer strength? They weren't glowing, which they do when they're activated.
@@kenjutsukata1o1 yes, this is what i reckon at. Jinx just lifting those gauntlets without any help from gemstone because she's like Cap America now
@@kenjutsukata1o1 oh right. That’s also possible.
Love the show and love your reactions. Glad to see it resonated with you. It’s probably one of my top five shows ever.
It’s definitely in my top 5
Oh Glob, yes! “Invincible” is outstanding! Haven’t looked at your full playlist but “Squid Game” and “Midnight Mass” are top picks
I love Arcane, and I really enjoyed watching your reactions. I appreciate your courage to expose your raw emotions and personal traumas. Thank you.
Indeed. She even says so - watch out Silco, as someone not a worm might come along.
I love how you just can't get a beat on how crazy Jinx actually is. I deadass thought Caitlyn's head was on that platter too.
Fun fact: Jinx's rocket launcher is called Fishbones and is very much a tribute to Silco. It has one bad eye, just like Silco and is a shark, since Silco loves fishes. In ep. 1 i believe, when Silco is introduced, we can see a fish swimming in the background.
And her mini-gun is called Pow-Pow. Vi's nickname for her.
No line in this show will ever hit me as hard as "I thought maybe you could love me like you used to, even though I'm...different."
"Are you real?" is waaaaay up there for me.
@@green31OSU Same. And her scream in ep3
It's very sad that your Arcane reaction series is over. I highly appreciated your reaction. And Arcane itself too, of course.
I just binged all your reactions yesterday, so excited to see this upload! Welcome to the Playground, girl.
❤️
Avatar the last airbender is another masterpiece of a show. Its not as concise as Arcane or as adult but I think many people still consider it a masterpiece myself included.
1000%
Found your channel bc of Arcane. Love your reactions. Thank you!
Thank you!
Also a recommendation: text analyses Schnee makes of Arcane. Really insightful and well done.
Now he's become the thing that goes boom in the dark …
But I liked her ninja reveals, especially the one at the bar.
The fact you cried for the supposed "villain" of the show (Silco) says so much about this show and its writing
@@pali1d well said
@@Squeekysquid Am I saying that? He is the villain, all I’m saying is there are a lot of grey areas and they also manage to make you feel sympathy for or in some cases cry for the death of Silco. That is an impressive feat.
".................................................................I have some mixed feelings." LMFAO
lovely reaction as always
Suggestions, not as good as Arcane, but what is? Still, pretty damn good:
Animated: Invincible. ATLA
Live action: Severance, The Expanse
i love the quick cut to contemplation face
There’s a teaser for 2nd season ;)and I also suggest if you want to learn more about the world of arcane you should watch some of league’s cinematics, I would start from the tales of runeterra which will explain the regions
Oh and don’t worry it won’t spoil future seasons
Loved your reactions to this series. Have to say the editing for the song that plays during the last part, with the rocket that hits the council chamber on the line "What could have been" was just *chef's kiss*. This show is worth every minute and like some people have commented this series was one of the first in a long time where I was actually kind of depressed when I finished the last episode. Fortunately it was announced that there will be a second season. There is a short teaser on TH-cam if you want to check it out.

You should check out Schee's channel, it captures and tells a lot about all arcane scenes and characters.
Practically the same reaction I had on the ending haha, I couldn't speak for 5 minutes - absolutely stunned
If jinx had a penny for every adoptive father of hers that she kills, she'd have 2 pennies which is not a lot but it's weird how it happened twice.
dude.....loved it
I expect there will be a flashback in season 2 where it turns out she somehow caused her real parents deaths too. 😉
@@Hohum37 Its implied in the original lore that she played a roll in her birth parents deaths.
Arcane was so amazing! Thanks for all you do!
Love that you enjoyed this show as much as i did and other people too
Savika's loyalty is to The Cause.
“Don’t cry. You’re perfect.”
A few scenes prior to this, we see Silco having a heart-to-heart with a statue of his “brother” - having finally realized what Vander meant.
He is one of the most brilliantly written villains I've ever seen.
The only thing I disagree with is the whole "He employed children in his factories." Is it explicitly stated that he demanded or even encouraged such things? I thought of it more as when families would work on a farm and every able-bodied member would work to help support the family.
@@MaskedMass a cocaine farm
My friend, you are presenting unproven and unconfirmed things in a bad way by vilifying and misrepresenting the Silco character.
What you wrote is just a hypothesis, there is a lot we don't know in terms of details, and you misrepresent what we know.
@@MaskedMass I agree
What I want to add:
How Silco's releasing the shimmer onto the streets might help his cause. All we see is that he has Shimmer used in his own bar, there is no logical explanation for Silco's involvement in this case. (In the Underground City Independence Case)
It is also not a potion belonging to Shimmer Silco.
We know the ChemBarons exist outside of Silco and we know that the ChemBarons don't like Silco that much, they will do anything to make money. (They don't care about Silco's case, they're after getting rich. That's why Sevika didn't choose Finn.)
We know that in Zaun many children are orphans and Shimmer runs their factory in their Chembaron.
(End of chapter example)
I don't think it's right to apply the dictionary meaning of bad guy to Silco.
I know I'm watching these reactions way late, but if you haven't seen them, I always recommend schnee's analysis vids on Arcane.
