- Well, I didn't have a new Endless Ocean game on my 2024 Bingo Card, but suffice to say, I was pleased when I heard the news. But after fourteen years since the last game, is Endless Ocean: Luminous a worthy successor? Is it a good game? Will Endless Ocean fans be pleased with it? Let's dive into the sea once again and seek out new fish and new marine mammals as we look at the recently released Endless Ocean: Luminous.

It seems like its a sequel that takes two steps backwards, and dumps everything in front of you.
I'd love to see more diving games, but maybe a bit more structured and with progression. Starting out as a snorkeler in shallow waters and as you earn money you buy a boat, better equipment and take on different task. Early game would be about photography, trash collecting, and small treasures (items lost by people like rings, and necklaces), but eventually you'll be doing salvage diving, conservation efforts, and science research.
The ultimate goal with trying to maintain that sense of wonder and discovery.
Side note: These kind of games just make me want to go snorkeling again. Even if its just in a pool or a cold alpine lake. Even though it can't compare to all the days I spent in Hawaii snorkeling, I've always been drawn to the water for swimming.
Would totally buy that game.
I kinda had some hopes for this game, but it was a letdown. Not terrible, but not as good as it could have been. You're better off playing the games from 15+ years ago.

I say it makes sense there no fanfare for the new discoveries, I mean stuff like the great mother was 15 years ago and they've found a species of seal that like to wear party crowns... you'd check out mentally too as a scentist after that. Also have you played Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure or Time Machine VR?
Haven't played either, but I've seen Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure around for years. Might get that one if the price is right. As for Time Machine VR, I don't have a VR set.

They have I, Claudius on TH-cam now. We spoke of it before. 11 out of the 12 videos, not sure why 7 is not here though. But that can be found on another site. I think these are all complete. I have not went through them all myself, minus just to see if they would start and had sound.

Sounds like there needs to be something that combines the realistic animals of Endless Oceans with the gameplay of something like Subnatica with some more danger and added prehistoric species of ARK Survival to have something more compelling.

Treasures of the Deep for the PS1 might be right up your alley. Granted, old gen graphics and controls that may not be a smooth as you like, but the rest is there. Relaxation, exploration, upgrading and fighting. I'd post a link to the trailer, but then this post probably would not be allowed to stay.
@@tilasole3252 No need: I already own it. I started to play it about a year ago, and then life happened and things got stressful, so I went to playing River King to chill out. I do want to play it, though.

🤗 I've personally never got very far in it. I have ADHD when it comes to games and books. I've only beaten/read a handful of them. And those I have beaten or read, I generally beat/read more than once.

Game just came out. To be fair, though, the Greenland Shark does have funky texture like that.
If there's no way to fail in this game then is it a game at all or just a diving sim?😂
I don't think there's a way to fail. The first game was kinda like that, but I feel like there was more of a point to the first game, which is weird because the stakes are much higher in this game.
