I vote “Beat Goes On”, she sings it on the Sticky & Sweet set list plus lyrics of the song are referenced in another section of the show, I think it’s a good one in preparation for the tour reaction. But whatever you react to I’ll love it ❤
I always say when people say hard candy was chasing trends that it was actually an up date of her debut....funk/r&b/disco its all there...Great collaboration with pharrell on this 🔥
Vividly recall driving around in my friend's car listening to this cd for the first time. This track had us screeeeaaaaammming!!! What did she just say??? Love you in the shower! Whaaat??? Stealing my looks and lingerie! It was the ultimate "read" and we were here for it all! ❤️
I’m not sure if you caught the end of Pharrell Williams section but there is a very fun lyric, “When you come back it will cost, just trust me, trust me…..Wendy”. The “Wendy” he is referring to is Wendy Melvoin the guitarist from Prince’s band, The Revolution. She plays guitar on this song and a few other songs on the album. I think it’s such a fun shoutout to her.
One of the best songs on the album and a highlight of the Sticky & sweet tour !!! I’d vote for Candy shop next, I’d wasn’t a single but Madonna loves it and has performed it on several tours !
Voices!!!! Great trac. When u see the tour this song is portrayed so differently than what u would think. U will be surprised. I’m in LA and a sticky and sweet tour would be a great break!!!
We can't begin to imagine what you must be going through there - The destruction looks completely overwhelming (just from what we've seen on the news). We'll be thinking about you and sending so much love and healing your way. ❤️❤️
I don't remember if you've heard her song "Thief of Hearts" from her Erotica album. If you haven't you should, because this song is like the 00's version of that song. And with that I mean not only the sound but also that this version is like this sugarcoated version of Thief of Hearts, which is a bit more aggressive.
What an amazing reaction!!!! I am so thrilled you chose this track!!! ❤❤❤ “What a great breakup song.” Just wait for the Rebel Heart era and the first track and single is “Living for Love” very similar. The Wendy reference is Wendy Melvoin from Prince and the Resolution. She plays on this track.
I want to say ‘Heartbeat’ next, but this album launched a love affair with Madonna and the song ‘Candy shop’ so I’d say listen to that And waaaait until you see her perform ‘She’s Not Me’ live 😂 👀
The performance of the song in Madonna's 'Sticky and Sweet' tour is certainly memorable. I've always thought toward the end of the song she says "Wendy." Hmmm...
I vote candy shop and heartbeat. She perform them in her concert and candy shop, she is not me are performed in multiple concerts so it will make more sense as you watch the concerts
Hard Candy is underrated and I can understand how people can be put off by the many producers and collaborations. However, it's an incredible album! I can't wait to see you react to Madonna's Sticky and Sweet Tour!!!! My pick for the next reaction would be Heartbeat or Beat Goes On.
This and “Incredible” are some of my favs from Hard Candy. Definitely there’s some of early Madonna work in this song, reminds me of Think of Me from the first album. The vocals and beat are just great. Very funky/80’s. This is definitely a autobiographical song and probably one of the reasons of the breakup with Guy Ritchie considering the lyrics and time frame. Great reaction ladies!!! 🫶🏻
Great reaction ladies. “She doesn’t have my name”…. Because there is only one Madonna ♥️ I also wondered if this song was based on some personal experience. Still unsure. Regardless, it’s such a catchy song. And I absolutely love the performance of this on S&S!! 😉 I also wish there were more singles released as videos off of this album. This album was produced during a transition in Madonna‘s record producers, so perhaps this is the reason. I already choose Heartbeat for the next reaction. Have a great day ♥️🍭
Aww, thank you! ❤️❤️ “She doesn’t have my name”…. Because there is only one Madonna ♥️ " Exactly! "And I absolutely love the performance of this on S&S!!" Sounds like it will be a highlight of the show - Really looking forward to it! Hope you have a wonderful evening - Much love! ❤️
During the MDNA tour, she sang Express yourself. She has always said that Lady Gagas Born this way was a melody ripoff of Express yourself. To solidify her point and to throw a little shade Lady Gagas way, while singing Express yourself, she suddenly switched the words to the lyrics of Born this way, which showed the same melody was used for both songs. However, she didn't stop there. During the combining of the Express yourself melody with the lyrics of Born this way, she added the chorus of Shes not me!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 it was gag worthy!!!!!
"she's not me" is one of the best on HARDCANDY, it's a pity that this single wasn't promoted at all, it's funny, rhythmic in Madonna's style. Best regards 😘
I vote in my humble fanatical Madonna fan option..lol... listen to " 💙 ❤️ HEARTBEAT " or included in the poll.. lyrically love it, and I think you will too. One of the hardcandy "gems" for sure ❤️ ! The top three would be Heartbeat 💓 The beat goes on Voices PS she's not me is so good live ! Love u guys! 🤟🏼 Scruffy
One of the many wasted singles from hard candy alongside heartbeat, Beat Goes on and Candy shop. The album version is good but the live version is 10 times better
Back in 2008 when this album was released it was rumoured that this song 'Shes Not Me'was a "diss"track towards Lady Gaga... Do not forget Madonna was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the same year 2008 by Justin Timberlake... Look it up to react to it before The Sticky & Sweet Tour reaction
For the next song you have several options, all with different vibes. Madonna loves “Candy Shop” and has performed it on several tours, so you will hear that plenty of times in the future. “Incredible” and “Heartbeat” are musically more in line with “She’s Not Me” but more lyrically simplistic. My vote is for “Voices”, the moody album closer that follows “Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You”. It has that haunting quality as well as some of her best lyrics in her catalog. It will definitely make you wonder what was going on with her and Guy!
Thank you ladies, I would go for a song she actually performs on the Sticky and sweet tour so I gather "Beat goes on" or 'Candy shop" That she adores and wanted it to be the actual first single hence why she opens the tour with it and performed it so many times on the tours that followed,
Love this song! That bridge is heaven. Amazing on tour and fans always liked to say she was singing about Gaga 😂 I vote for Voices. Not on the tour and a great song. 🥰🥰
At the end she almost sounds like shes singing like Gwen Stephanie and it also sounds like she put a little Prince tribute in there with the funky guitar part and her saying Wendy. Just something I always think about when I hear this song. I also always think about her singing this on tour. We ALL knew who she was referring to.😆

Hello ladies, as I wrote in some other videos, all the songs from HC are worth listening to, but I want you to react to unreleased songs as well, they would've fit there for sure 😃
We'll definitely get to all the tracks on the album eventually (either now or when we go back for a deeper dive later). Looking forward to hearing those unreleased songs as well! ❤️
This song raised tabloid speculation of who Madonna was referring to in the lyrics where she sounded like admonishing her partner for falling for another girl who’s obsessed in being a “Madonna Wannabe”. But in an interview with Q Magazine, she revealed that she and her song co-writer Pharrell Williams “concocted a story about an ultimate jilted lover”. In a larger sense, she’s more likely chiding the celebrity media and some in the pop music world for misunderstanding her by thinking she is any of the many re-invented images she’s portrayed in her artistry-like the Material Girl or the lusty girl in a wedding gown on her honeymoon night in Like A Virgin. She’s made it clear that none of the iconic images she’s created in her videos should be mistaken as her in real life, but that each one has a bit of essence of her. She conveyed her messaging about this song with her live version during the S&S tour. As Nicki Minaj rapped at the ending of Madonna’s I Don’t Give A..number during the MDNA era: “There’s only one Queen and that’s Madonna…B- -ch!!”😅 Appreciate your insightful reaction to this album audio. Suggest you cover her awesome promo mini-concert at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC before you react to the Sticky&Sweet Tour. Many thanks. ❤😊

Very fun reaction! 🩵🩵 I vote for Beat Goes On featuring K. West. It's a track that many fans felt should have been a single. It would have probably competed well on the Billboard charts. On top of that, it's a great dance song. 😃
Alright, ladies, grab your mugs cause the tea is hot for this one! It’s rumoured that this song was a last addition to the album and that Madonna REALLY wanted to include it. Usually Madonna imagines herself in a situation and write about it, but years later we finally understood what happened. So in 2016 she said during a concert “I used to have a Filipino friend, but she f***d my husband” and putting 2 and 2 together we understand that her former personal trainer, Tracy Anderson, was the one Guy Ritchie was seeing behind Madonna’s back. Although neither has ever confirmed nor denied it, Madonna for sure added gas to this fire! 😅
Great song. When Madonna and Pharrell say "Wendy" towards the end, they are speaking of Wendy Melvoin of Wendy and Lisa, also part of Prince And The Revolution . Wendy was on the Kiss video with Prince, too. Saying all that, Wendy played guitar on She's Not Me. I vote for Heartbeat as the next song. Will you be doing any specials or interviews for the Hard Candy era? Here's a link to a couple th-cam.com/video/ZsrNtTu0CgI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nB1RCJfftNGO0cYx th-cam.com/video/zMa1NdHRoZ4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dneFQIdTtwU3TgUc
Hey Girls! Don't forget to react to the Promo Concert at the BBC Radio 1 Event before the tour!! BTW I love "She's not me" ! Pd: "Beat Goes On" should be reacted to.😊
It depends on where you want to go next with the next song. Most the songs are upbeat R&B with a splash of hip hop/rap. Though, Dance 2night is a great dance song and sorta has a throwback to the 70's Bee Gees. Beat Goes On is another upbeat fun song, but it in the same vein as "She's Not Me" and a couple other tracks.
She’s not me. May be referring to lady Gaga this is when Gaga was starting to become famous, it will make more sense as you watch interviews and two concerts away she will refer to it by singing she is not me after she sings a snippet of a Gaga song
Nope it is not. Gaga did not break through til late 2008. This was released in spring 2008. It is lyricly clearly about a woman her husband is cheating on her with or who he is interested in. The Gaga thing did not start until years later.
Girls there also a demo for the beat goes on which was leaked , then Madonna changed the whole song, cause she was upset , by the way the first version is soooo good th-cam.com/video/pAj32bTwSXs/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
A very fun song and a very danceable song as well ... there was a long rumor this was aimed at Lady Gaga but I doubt it. This album was made during a very difficult time-- because she was facing the end of her relationship with Guy Ritchie. If you want to react to her VERY first real single-- look up Ain't No Big Deal. That's the true first Madonna single, not Everybody. Ring My Bell should have been on the album (US version).
The song was recorded before Lady Gaga even released her first single. Her first single was released the same month of Hard Candy. Ain’t No Big Deal wasn’t her first single. They wanted to release it as the first single but it wasn’t in the end.
@nicocdc5658 you are wrong. Ain't No Big Deal really WAS the first single until they didn't release it. But in essence, it was. Even M herself has said, on record, it's the first. Don't try to outsmart me on M. Next, it was a well known rumor about Gaga-- she appeared on the music scene in 2007 but didn't hit it big until 08. That's true. But the rumor still persisted. So yeah-- you aren't correct on either
"If you want to react to her VERY first real single-- look up Ain't No Big Deal. That's the true first Madonna single, not Everybody." Thank you for sharing that with us!! ❤️❤️ How interesting! We'll definitely have to look it up and react to that one.
We call that "Destiny Swapping" , it's actually witchcraft. When someone basically takes over a huge aspect of your life. I'm sad this is the album that's getting album track reactions 😢, it's universally titled her worst album by fans. But it's good though to prepare for the upcoming tour as this is over of the highlights. Another highlight of the tour is "Beat Goes On".
Hard Candy is definitely my less favorite Madonna’ album and it’s because this is the first time she decided to follow the trend and produced the album with Timbaland, West, Williams and Timberlake. All of them have a very similar sound and at the time, they were producing for other artists, and all the songs produced by them, sounded the same. The sound is encapsulated in 2008-2010 period. For me, it sounds outdated today. But I love the live performances she did for the songs, they are more likable live than the album version. And she put one of the most physical challenging performance of her tours.
She followed the trend before. Think of the Like A Virgin Album that was produced with the signature sound of Nile Rodgers who did many hit songs of the time (Diana Ross, David Bowie, etc). Or think of the Erotica album adopting the New Jack Swing Sound that was famous at the time. Or think of the Bedtime Stories album when RnB was the trend back then with Dallas Austin and Babyface (TLC for example). She sometimes followed big trends way before Hard Candy.
We're really looking forward to seeing these songs live. Just when you think her tours couldn't be more physically demanding, it sounds like this one is - Can't wait! ❤️❤️
“The Beat Goes On” is quite an enjoyable song!
Yes!!!
And should be the third single .... but was replaced by miles away 😊
It is but i feel like Madonna has had better albums where our ladies did not listen to as many album cuts even though they deserved it more than Hard candy haha i am thinking Bedtime Stories, Ray Of Light, Music etc.
Heck yeah, that was another song I instantly liked the first time I bought the album and listened to it back then.

The song " voices" is so beautiful....
Wait till you see her perform this on tour
WowOwow
oh yes! a masterclass of her madgesty, career and irony!
Exactly ❤🎉
I agree!
Sounds great!! ❤️❤️
I vote for “Voices” from this album ❤
That's the best song from the album
Voice is a trip
Love the pace, her Voice...
I also like it a lot
Voices & Across The Sky ❤
I vote “Beat Goes On”, she sings it on the Sticky & Sweet set list plus lyrics of the song are referenced in another section of the show, I think it’s a good one in preparation for the tour reaction.
But whatever you react to I’ll love it ❤
Big hugs to you! ❤️❤️
I remember where I was when this album came out and I would play on it repeat! I love Voices and dance2night!
I vote “Heartbeat”.
I second this vote. Heartbeat is so beautiful.
I vote for hearbeat also!! ❤
My vote for the next song would be Heartbeat or Beat Goes On.
Heartbeat!

'Candy Shop' which is a song Madonna likes to perform.

We'll definitely get to all the tracks on the album eventually (either now or when we go back for a deeper dive later). Looking forward to hearing those unreleased songs as well! ❤️
Beat goes on, please!
As Nicki Minaj rapped at the ending of Madonna’s I Don’t Give A..number during the MDNA era: “There’s only one Queen and that’s Madonna…B- -ch!!”😅
Appreciate your insightful reaction to this album audio. Suggest you cover her awesome promo mini-concert at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC before you react to the Sticky&Sweet Tour. Many thanks. ❤😊
Thank you! ❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing that info - They certainly concocted a fantastic (and detailed!) story!

What a perfect explanation in every way!

Yes - We're planning to react to the mini-concert and the hall of fame induction before the tour.
Much love to you! ❤️
Very fun reaction! 🩵🩵 I vote for Beat Goes On featuring K. West. It's a track that many fans felt should have been a single. It would have probably competed well on the Billboard charts.
On top of that, it's a great dance song. 😃
Aww, thank you! ❤️❤️ And thank you for voting too!
Biggest hugs to you ❤️
Alright, ladies, grab your mugs cause the tea is hot for this one! 😅
Jeez dude you are obsessed with Guy. Leave him alone ffs.
Wow!! That tea was pipin' hot! 😂
Big hugs to you! ❤️❤️
Here's a link to a couple

Hey Girls! Don't forget to react to the Promo Concert at the BBC Radio 1 Event before the tour!! BTW I love "She's not me" !
Pd: "Beat Goes On" should be reacted to.😊
We can't wait for the promo concert! Big hugs to you! ❤️❤️
Dance 2Night next
Id love you to listen to Heartbeat!
❤️❤️
Beat Goes On
should have been a single imo
I say Candy Shop 😊
Don't forget "GIVE IT 2 ME" transitions into "HEARTBEAT" ❤
She’s not me. May be referring to lady Gaga this is when Gaga was starting to become famous, it will make more sense as you watch interviews and two concerts away she will refer to it by singing she is not me after she sings a snippet of a Gaga song
Nope it is not. Gaga did not break through til late 2008. This was released in spring 2008. It is lyricly clearly about a woman her husband is cheating on her with or who he is interested in.
The Gaga thing did not start until years later.
Beat goes on or dance 2night
Candy Shop please
next reaction Beat Goes On and to Sticky & Sweet Tour please
VOICES
or
DANCE2NIGHT
Hello Ladies … please do Beat goes on 😘
Girls there also a demo for the beat goes on which was leaked , then Madonna changed the whole song, cause she was upset , by the way the first version is soooo good th-cam.com/video/pAj32bTwSXs/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
@nicocdc5658 " Ain't No Big Deal was first chosen as the first single release with Everybody as a B-single."
"If you want to react to her VERY first real single-- look up Ain't No Big Deal. That's the true first Madonna single, not Everybody."
Thank you for sharing that with us!! ❤️❤️ How interesting! We'll definitely have to look it up and react to that one.
Across the sky from Madonna and Justin Timberlake unreleased is good
We call that "Destiny Swapping" , it's actually witchcraft.

Great GHV2 megomix
Very cool - Love the transitions! Thank you for the recommendation! ❤️❤️
Oof. "She's Not Me" is one of my least liked tracks from the album. Not sure who recommended this one. 😅
Another unfortunate song from her most unfortunate album. 😢😢 I do think all of the sarcasm in your review commentary was overboard though.
What sarcasm?
