Hello, Happy New Year! This video is taken from a photo shoot for a well-known magazine. Madonna being very busy at that time asked the photographer who was taking the photos if he could shoot the video for his song. He had never shot a video, Madonna convinced him and sometimes helped him.
One of my favorite Madonna songs after all these years. It’s Madonnas mantra dating back to “Over and Over” from Like a Virgin album. Ageism with Madonna dates back to the Erotica era. I would say this is “peak fitness” for Madonna - rivaling Blonde Ambition era. She is at like 0% body fat during Sticky & Sweet Tour. Not the best look but from a fitness perspective it’s impressive.

The video is based on an Elle Magazine photoshoot she did to promote the album. She loved the various looks so much they basically recreated the whole photoshoot in motion. Personally as just a second single it deserved a more high budget elaborated video, but since Hard Candy was her last album on Warner the record company wasn’t probably interested. The live version on Sticky And Sweet is amazing!

Hard Candy is very interesting album, perhaps not as successful as Confessions, but has some hits in it. I think Pharrell's songs with her aren't bad, but have a lot of unnecessary fillers and ad-libs from Pharrell, but I guess they were just vibing while making that record 😃 I recommend listening to the whole album, non-singles are well made, demos also.

Give It 2 Me is an evolved form of a demo called "Infinity", that is supposedly co-written with Pharrell and produced by The Neptunes. Not 100% sure, but... anyway. This demo leaked in the 2010's and gave us a peek at how she reworked lyrics and melody to turn it into the final product. I don't know for sure but I think the Infinity demo was made with Timbaland. It just has that vibe to me.
