FYI: Check out the Terrell Show with Lalah Hathaway. Her doctor viewed her vocal chords. They work individually 🤣 She can sing 4 chords at once. Check out the interview, obviously I'm not a doctor nor musician🤣
Although, in Music Appreciation, my professor said I had an immaculate ear. I love music so much! I love singing! Can't play an instrument, can't read a scale, nothing! But I KNOW good music!

Lalah Hathaway sings overtones! And not just TWO notes, but the last chord is THREE notes! The only vocalist that I’ve heard do that commercially is Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix. The technique is an African tribal tradition, I understand. Oh, she’s Donny Hathaway’s daughter!

Hi Elisha, great to see you picking artists to react to that may not be known mainstream. Layah Hathaway is the daughter of the legendary R&B soul singer Donny Hathaway (my favorite male vocalist) who is probably mostly known for his duets with Roberta Flack - th-cam.com/video/MBT1neIA0tc/w-d-xo.html. The way Lalah scatted and mimic's an instrumental solo like a saxophone is amazing. and when she sang the double octave notes at the same time - wow!

you should also give a listen to a group called Dirty Loops , they fuse Pop Jazz and R&B into a mind-blowing whole . Start with the song NEXT TO YOU and listen to the lead singers range and since they are only a trio (Bass, Drums, Keyboards) it will make you question reality .....LOL!
