I've patiently waited 20years for some headlights for my NBS 2000 Tahoe.. Finally lol..These are by far the best you can get. I got the clear corner version..icing on the cake. great output, look great and even the daytime running lights are great. I believe these are better made than factory. Absolutely tight fit. Just have to be patient with the install and getting the polarity of the lights correct. Glad I never bulb swapped or went HID..Hopefully the last time messing with the headlights for a long time. Thanks for the review...
I appreciate the watch and your input, thanks for watching and commenting. They are bad A$$ lights!
Did you have any trouble adjusting yours mine are raised to the max and still aim to the ground
@sean.g4516 no issues. Make sure you have anything forcing them down. A lot of wires tucked in there and ez to do. Use a wall to see the cutoff line. The lights are as bright as my wife's Tesla with similar cutoff lines so ez to see on a wall.
@@spyderlyf3 thanks after hours measuring moving around driving rechecking trimming finally got them right
I thought about upgrading my lights in my GMC dually.. i may just do that. Thanks for the video.
This review is worth millions💯💯
Appreciate that. Thank you
Great review man, thank you. I'm on my second pair of "neat looking" garbage from Amazon. For $110, I got a set of headlight and turn lenses with a messed up clock position of the low beam bulb. The first set, the bulb came out and melted its way down the back of the plastic assembly. The second set I was able to "persuade" the bulb to fit in the proper position, but the heat is melting the "floor" of the headlight. So any day now, I'll be buying something else. Gxengo might be selling their first set of headlights from your video to me. haha
Rock on man, thanks again for the video.
Thanks for watching. My reviews are always something different 😂 definitely not the normal "hey buy this, link in the description "😂... Anyway, when I was installing them I had thought about installing weather pack connectors on the parking/turn lights and now wish I just did that. The parking light on the passenger side (one I had an issue with) is working intermittently because of a loose connection and I can guarantee you its the dang light socket, GM always had an issue with them... Easy fix regardless... Overall the lights are really good and definitely SUPER BRIGHT, there is no going back...😂😂 Along with the hood being installed the truck looks pretty sharp. Thanks again for watching and commenting and if you wind up purchasing a set, thanks in advance..👍👍 #ChallengeTheBuild
@@ChallengeTheBuild Yea, the whole time I was watching, I thought, "Ain't no way I'm plugging that harness into that socket, that's a terrible design. I'll cut the ends, and use adhesive heat shrink".
You're correct, those GM sockets are junk. And yea, that truck looks great. I dig it a lot.
I'll be watching the hood video tonight. Rock on man!
Best looking lights on the market just ordered these for my suburban
Agreed! These look freaking awesome! Love the DTRLs not to mention these are crazy bright! Can't drive without them now..
Best video out there for this product
I appreciate the positive feedback! Comments like this let me know I am doing my job well. Thanks👍
Thanks for responding bud. My next question is how did you get just the daytime running lights on without the low beam bulbs coming on in the top. I had them working with my light switch but then the drl’s would act as my blinker as well and the orange part would be useless. I love the design of the drl’s on by themselves.
Thanks again.
I just installed similar ones today. I’m pretty sure you saved me a lot of hassle which is much appreciated.
How are these holding up for you? Should we expect these to last a long time? Thanks
Awesome... Holding up well, I had a loose connection again at the turn signal plug but so far that's it.. If I was to install another set I would definitely wire them up using weather pack connections rather then the plug and play connections they came with. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍
Ok man, I bought a set. Even used the affiliate link. haha
Have a cocktail on me brother.
I do appreciate the support every little bit helps, thank you👍... You are gonna love the lights they are awesome!
@@ChallengeTheBuild Great to hear, looking forward to them. Shipping ETA of Dec16th - Jan 6th kinda suck though. Oh well.
Rock on man, Happy Holidays and thanks for the videos.
I bought these and love the look. I’m not a mechanic so how do I adjust the headlights. High beams pointing down and only light up 10 ft.
On the back side pf the light there should be 2 torx style bolts/screws they might even be external torx. One bolt adjusts up and down the other should be left to right...
Thanks for the informative video. Love the look of the lights and am considering them for my 2004 Chevy Tahoe. they only thing that is unclear to me is if LED lights can be replaced individually if one goes out? looks like a closed housing assembly so just want to make sure they can be repaired if needed.
I do not believe they can be repaired easily if they go out. I can't remember but I want to say they are rated for 50,000 hours (yes I just checked rated at 50,000 hours)? I never really looked into whether or not they could be repaired... Im sure they could be repaired but as for how and what's needed to do the job I am unsure. I appreciate the feedback and watch. Good luck in making your decision. 👍
Thank you for the thoughtful response!@@ChallengeTheBuild
Do these blind oncoming drivers ?
Not sure... I know most of the lights nowadays blind me...😁
UPDATE! finally figured out the adjustment, the BOTTOM adjustment screw is for the vertical/up down movement and the top is for horizontal, left to right. It pushes the headlight outwards or inward near your grill where you will probably see a big gap at first install. Turning to the left nearly all the way out is where you wanna be with the horizontal adjustment. You'll see that it's even with the top front of your grill. Then its simple to just play with the bottom vertical screw til you're at the height you need.
Clean cutoff line! just take your time use a wall or garage door the lines on it help. I can definitely say there worth the money now lol
Great! Thank you for the update...👍
So I installed these but I can’t figure out how to get the lower set of DRLs to work? Also how did you fix the diode that was wired up wrong from factory?
Great video sir, not sure if you can help with a question. I have these installed in a 2001 Chevy Silverado and for some reason the DRL on the passenger side both the top & bottom do not work in DRL mode but when the headlights are on they light up ? If you could help out I would appreciate it. Thank you
All I can say is just check and recheck the wiring. I wish I had a better answer but I do not... These were a bugger for me and as I continue to get comments on this video it seems they can be a little problematic. Still worth it in my opinion because they are the best looking lights for this style Chevy. (In my opinion) Thanks for watching and commenting.
So I must be careful with the negative and positive connection to avoid dealing with a spam turning signal and failure to turn off high beam ..
I honestly think mine was an isolated incident. Just take your time on the install and I think you will be okay...
Why are the drl on when the headlights are on? Shouldn't they turn off ounce the HL turn on?
Just got mine installed. One question: How did you get just the daytime running lights on by themselves, to check if they are working correctly?
Thanks
Turn your ignition key on (DON'T START IT) put truck in reverse or drive (Might want to use E-brake for safety 🤷♂️) and if its bright enough outside the DRLs should come on. You may have to fool the light sensor on the dashboard with a flash light depending on how bright of an area you are working in. Good luck 👍
Thank you. Currently have one side running lights not working once I turn the car off. Already flipped the drl connection on that side and it didn’t help. Going to try some more options today
Great review man, do they make tail lights for a 1999 chevy silverado step side?
Thank you. I do not believe they have make/sell any tail lights.
When You Turn The Light Switch On The Inside The Vehicle To P Do The DRL And The Turn Signals Suppose To Come On Only?
I am sort of confused by this question?
This video needs more views and likes, plus subs
Thanks, I appreciate the support. 👍
Is there any way to make the bottom row turn signal part white as well until signal is engaged like switch backs? That's the only thing I dislike is the whole bottom row is amber except the drl part @@ChallengeTheBuild
No, I don't think there is...
@@ChallengeTheBuild do you know if the high & low bulbs are replaceable if they where to go out?
@sean.g4516 I will have to go pull out one of the assemblies. I remember the back of the headlight having two rectangle bulbs that ypu could probably replace. If you have Instagram hit me up there and the I can shoot you a picture of them...
I have the lights installed but the hazards and turn signals aren't working properly: did you have any issues and if so what did you do to solve them?
I didn't have issues with turn/hazard lights, my issue was with daytime running lights. Best suggestion I have is check all connections, fuses and relays. After having them installed for a while one of my turn signal connections came loose. If I was to do it again I would just hard wire all my connections using weather pack connectors rather then the plug and play connectors provided. Good luck 👍
So it is all plug in play no running wires anywhere ????
All plug and play, I did not have to run any additional wires anywhere. 👍
@@ChallengeTheBuilddoes the turn signal area stay amber at all times or only wen turn signal is on. Hoping its led until the signal is on
@sean.g4516 Stays amber at all times when the lights are on, then obviously blinks brighter when turn signals are turned on... They are very aggressive looking lights. In my opinion probably the best looking lights for those year chevy trucks...
I just got a set of the headlights, my passenger side daytime running lights are not working top or bottom. Everything else works and I am starting to wonder if I am having the same issue you had with the passenger lower cannon plug being wired incorrectly?
How did you fix the problem? did you cut the wire below the plug and swap wires and crimp them?
I just took a razor blade and trimmed the index barb on the male cannon plug, which then allowed me to rotate the cannon plug and then I just plugged it in... Hope this helps
@@ChallengeTheBuild Thanks
I flipped the plug around and everything works, except my headlights stay on along with daytime running lights whether in park or drive sitting outside. Any Ideas on what the problem is? Thanks again
Can you help me out or anyone. I ordered these through Amazon they shorted me a Diode Wire and it's impossible to get info from them..Do u know of a way or where I can buy one or have a number of manufacturer any advice on how to get one it would be much appreciated. Because with out it won't fully function. Thanks
Sorry for the late response, unfortunately I do not have any information. I don't have the install instructions and I didn't need to use the diodes and I can't find them to reference any part numbers... I hope you were able to figure it out...
Great video! I installed these, but when I turn on my high beam it shuts off the low beam light. Any idea why this might be happening?
Check the instructions. I feel like you may have a plug backwards...🤷♂️. Check and recheck all connections. That's honestly the best advice I have. These lights can be pesky little buggers.
@@ChallengeTheBuild I was thinking that. Once the rain stops I’ll try to flip them. Thanks!
@ijonathanf Hope you get it figured out...
Will these lights fit a 2004 Chevy Tahoe ?
I think they should. I installed them in a 2004 Suburban, basically the same thing..
Which fuse that blow for day running light? I saw two "DRL" on list in fuse box. I check 10A fuse and it is fine, then I switch big black fuse, fine. I dont know why my day running light dont come on. I tried to come out of " AUTO" light switch. Nothing happened.
In order for you to test the DRLs you need to put a light over the photo sensor that is in the center of your dash board to trick the sensor (if it's dark outside) then turn the key on (engine not running), put emergency brake on for safety and then put the car/truck into drive in order to complete the DRLs circuit. The daytime running lights only come on when the vehicle is in reverse or drive, the DRLs will not come on when the vehicle is in park. Hope this helps...
It's your ambient light sensor on your dash that has gone bad. If it goes bad you headlights will come on every time the key is inserted.
The DRLs will only come on whenever you have you vehicle in gear. If you engage your parking brake for 99-02 models. Your DRLs will not come on if your ambient light sensor on you dash is good. If the sensor is bad. Your DRLs will never turn on
I installed these on my 04 Tahoe and my left turn signal stays on 😢
Hmm... Interesting. Maybe there is a possibility of having the company send a replacement?
Where did you get the grill?
Local junk yard..👍
The drl on my bottom driver side works but the one above it doesn't. What could the issue be?
Oh boy.... I'd say check then double check and finally re-check any and all connections. You may need a test light to figure everything out.
@@ChallengeTheBuild Since I've posted this comment, both drls on the driver side went out. My connector is melted so I need to buy a new one. Maybe it'll fix the problem.
Bought them, installed them. They aim at the ground 10ft in front of my suburban. Worthless junk.
Did you try to adjust them? You should definitely be able to remedy this problem. 🤷♂️👍
Having the same problem right out the box they aiming way too low. I adjusted them to the max height still nothing. And it's a painnn getting the pins back in without breaking something @@ChallengeTheBuild
@ChallengeTheBuild yes I have adjusted them. The problem is the adjustment mechanism on the back of the light rams the radiator core support. Not sure how to fix that other than put a hole saw to the core support.
