How To Install EAC & Granular CO2 Scrubber On The O2ptima CCR

Great vid. I was taught to pour the gran from the container into a pitcher to help eliminate some of the dust by letting it blow away in the wind. Then pour it into the canister, tap and fill. But I use EAC whenever I can. I would like to see a video on cleaning the canister when you experience a wet flooded can or when you want to switch from gran to EAC.

This looks like too little sorb was packed. I would be adding just a bit more. The top plate should be flush with the inside edge of the canister. You have a decent gap between the top plate and inside edge of the canister. Freeze frame at 5:14 and then compare to Figure 7 of the Dive Rite user manual.

Great video, what kind of duration do you get with the EAC in cold water?

4 hours as recommended by the manufacturer and Dive Rite. I’ve personally watched a friend of mine use it for 6+ in deep cold water, but I found this to be reckless and wouldn’t ever recommend.

Any advantage of loose over the EAC? I have actually never dove withe packed sorb… I only ever packed In training. EAC are so convenient

Some people would say, price is the advantage. Personally, I use both, but I prefer the EAC cartridge because of its reliability, ease-of-use and reusability.

@@divecurrent and u can flood your EAC cartridge and recover them :E. Im happy and stile alive apoc user :E mccr and i wold even thing go back to old day sorb use :E .
