I understand your feelings. The three year limit relates to the Editor; the Organizer remains perpetual. I think this new arrangement is still good value e.g. $100 ($80 with upgrade discount) if you keep the software for three years. This compares with the Photography Plan (Lightroom & Photoshop CC) at $360 ($120 p.a.)

I am looking for something else becausr you can no longer buy it outright. In 3 years time the license will expire and you will have to buy again.
