How could you leave out Evelyn Harper and Berta from 2 and a half men??? She's even more critical and insulting than Lucille Bloome - and Berta has no chill.
Benson from Soap, Geoffrey from Fresh Prince, Dana from Step by Step, Endora from Bewitched, Red from That 70’s Show.
What about Al Bundy from Married with children ??
With Benson and Geoffrey from Fresh Prince, Niles isn't even the most savage Butler in sitcoms. He shouldn't even be in the honorable mentions.
Dorothy Zbornak-The Golden Girls and Florence Johnston-The Jeffersons.
Niles is definitely the friend we all need 😂
Niles and CeCe were such a great duo😆
This is recent because they are still iconic
Finally know his first name now 🙌
I have watched this show since I was a small kid and I have never heard Edward before, I thought his name was just Niles the Butler.
I have my own niles as a best friend life is never dull for sure
I can't believe Bertha from "Two and a Half Men" didn't make the list... or at least an honorable mention. I just love all of her burns towards anyone she encounters.
I agree. Missed opportunity.
Berta, NOT BERTHA, if you are going to include a character, do some reading to learn the characters name
@@beanbag8148 It was probably autocorrect. Relax. 🙄
You could have also added Evelyn - She's like Lucille Bloome on steroids
@@beanbag8148Geeze...they just made a mistake.
Niles' burns on CC still make me laugh so much. He is the GOAT of burns.
Plus his target his both not his subordinate/a random nobody and perfectly able to kick back. Too many authors confuse bland condescendance for sarcasm, not his.
@@franck3279 Until Season 5 or so, you didn't get the feeling CC was really hurt by his remarks/antics - almost like she knew it was a game and perhaps even was only acting interested in Maxwell as part of playing the game. Then, because of Lane being pregnant, they invented a whole "breakdown" thing as an excuse to have her be gone.
Salem was my favorite on Sabrina. It would crack me up when he cried. He made words sound like they had 15 syllables. I was surprised that Geoffrey from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air isn't on here. He was so brutal. Granny on Downton Abbey was hysterical!
the latter isn't a sitcom but no one delivers British wit like Maggie Smith. Nick Bakay made Sabrina, even in the last season when the show sucked he was still in prime form
@@MsJubjubbird I know that Downton Abbey wasn't a sitcom. But no one could deliver the zingers like Dame Maggie.
@@peggyknecht5551 Amen to that.
Geoffrey is more savage to Phil
@@MsJubjubbirdyeah
How could Al Bundy not be on this list? He's the most savage person in tv sitcom history
The next list definitely.
He was especially funny when he made fun of Marcy.
100% agreed, nobody was more savage than Al Bundy!
He was also very savage when he made fun of the fat women at the shoe store. Too bad that won't fly today because of today's woke culture. If he did that today, he would be accused of fat shaming. People today need to lighten up.
Came here to post this
Niles is #1, as it should be! The universe is where it should be.
Im watching the Nanny for the 1st time all the way through up until now only saw episode here and there, anyway LOVE Neil's just had the best burns
#2, Sophia #1
What about Niles Crane? He could go toe to toe with Frasier and even Roz.
Good suggestion, definitely a character that should have been near the top spots
I thought for sure he'd be #1.
How is Penny more savage than Bernadette? Yes, she's a tough nut, but Bernadette delivered one of the most savage come back lines in the Big Bang Theory!
Bernadette: "Gosh, Amy, I'm sensing a little hostility. Is it maybe because, like Sheldon's work, your sex life is also theoretical"?
In that episode she was the most savage I love her I don't understand why people don't like her
That was my thought also
Don't forget Amy said she was scared of her
@@laura-maejames3424 Hello
@@laura-maejames3424 how are you
Ohh my gosh can you imagine Karen (will&grace), Carla (cheers), Bertha (2 and a half men), Chandler (friends) and Niles (the nanny) in a show together!! 🤣
Everything would hit the fan! That would be epic!!
Yeah it would make the golden girls look like the Oprah Winfrey show.
I think Salem deserves to be on the list and not in the honorable mentions but I'm still happy to see Chandler,Karen and Niles on the list 😊😊😊😊
That scene with Miles and CC where he tricks her into clucking like a chicken is real comedy gold. I must have seen it at least 20 times and i still laugh at it very loudly.
How is Jeffery the butler from “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” not on this list?
Yeah! I thought he’d be in this list or at least an honorable mention.
I think you mean Geoffrey Butler.
Because basically Niles and him are the same archetype and I guess the authors didn't want to seem too repetitive.
Niles Crane Fraiser
Benson-Soap
Berta-2 and a half men
Geoffrey-Fresh Prince
Florence- the Jeffersons
While not the star of the show, Niles was certainly 1 of the main highlights in The Nanny
Niles is the reason I watched
Everyone needs a Niles as a best friend and Julia Sugerbaker, She is a take no nosease from awful people.
I always loved that Niles and CeCe were given some of the best material in the show, even though they weren’t the main characters.
You gotta add Geoffrey from Fresh Prince . Always had the last word
YES HE WAS SO SASSY
Came here to say this!
I was expecting to see him.
Uncle Phil: "Bring me my tools, Geoffrey."
Geoffrey:"Your knife and fork, sir?"
Savage AF 😄
I haven’t watched the video yet but I agree. He should definitely 100% be on here if he isn’t in my opinion!
I know she’s animated, but Daria Morgandorpher from “Daria” was the QUEEN of sarcasm. And let’s not forget Samantha Jones and Miranda Hobbs from “Sex and the City”
Spike of Buffy would have been a good one:
Buffy: "What are you doing here. 5 words or less."
Spike: "Out for a walk....Bitch."
Except it was not a sitcom.
Unlike others on this list who were savage for so no reason, Nile's had good intentions. He only really did it to CC to protect Maxwell from her and defend Fran when CC was mean to her. He's like an anti-hero, but really a hero.
It's also their way of flirting
Salem Saberhagen should have a place on the list just for the fact he can throw a forest of shade, execute biting wit and do all that as another species!
His level of savagery is nothing short of purrfection 😎😼
Niles will always be the most savage butler of all time.
I think he's even with Geoffrey from the Fresh Prince... Though Niles may edge him out just a little
Geoffrey from fresh prince and sofia from golden girls
Agree to both
Yes and YES!
Imagine if they were in the same room as each other.@@andrewgrove1691
R.I.P Matthew Perry and Jessica Walter. Lose of 2 bloody good actors with their passings.
I'm suprised Al Bundy or Daria Morgandorffer didn't make an appearance on this list with how savage they both can be.
Where was Julia Sugarbaker? The woman is loyal to a fault to her friends and loved ones but a "Terminator" to those who get on her bad side. Her entire "Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" soliloquy defending Suzanne to an upstart beauty pageant contestant was so classic--and brutal--that it was the first NON-musical lip-sync challenge on RuPaul's Drag Race (obviously, in an All-Stars season, but still . . . ). Julia could put more brutality in a simple "No" than almost any of the characters in this list could do in all their "criticisms" in an entire series run. Granted, she did a lot more in terms of sermonizing and speechifying but if you survived Julia's wrath, you knew better than to cross her a second time.
I named my daughter after her. Love her
That is so cool! Designing Women Dixie are my absolute favorite. @@angelabromley3712
“Lay into each other with more shade than a lamp store.” I am stealing that one.
As already written by a few others: Geoffrey, Berta and Florence are missing. But speaking of Niles (which def. is #1), also C.C. herself was a rather brutal burning hero.
Kaley Cuoco played Penny so well!
Niles defined savage, he invented the snarky butler
I could imagine the writers had been taking inspiration from Jeeves, the manservant form the P.G. Wodehouse books (and subsequent tv show). To me he’s the ultimate „sarky butler“. Would be interesting to see if they were aware of Jeeves. :)
Nope. Benson pre-dates Niles by many years.
Flo - Alice
Nell Harper - Gimmie a Break
Florence Johnston - The Jeffersons
Mary Jenkins - 227
Maude Findlay - Maude
Dorothy Zbornak - The Golden Girls
Mr. Belvedere- Mr. Belvedere
They act like TV didn't exist before 1993.
@@tlm6494 EXACTLY!!! Where do they think we GenXers learned how to be SOOOOOO good at Sarcasm 🤣❤
Another one I'll add: Thelma Harper(Mama)-Mama's Family.
@@donaldwilson2620 how cld I 4get her🤣❤🤣 her dislike for Naomi is hilarious... Eunice & Momma wld have to be my favorite scenes... Charades (Eunice as her partner)...The School Dance when they did the 40's music bc the band booked never showed up for ❤❤❤
@@barrellracer Mama's favorite targets were definitely Naomi and Eunice. She really burned them.
Dennis Finch from Just Shoot Me! I believe should've been an honorable mention 🤣💕
Red Forman is a glaring omission....but I love that Niles is on here 😅
OMG..,I'm so glad Dr. Cox from Scrubs made this list. He is truly one of the underrated best!
Unfortunately, it appears that everyone has forgotten Murphy Brown, and the titular character portrayed by Candice Bergen. Truly, the Queen of sass.
Dang, I was hoping to see my best girl Darlene Conner on this list... we all saw her grow from a smart-assed kid to a smart-assed adult. She never disappointed and she never failed to light someone up.
... and she was quick with the savage burn especially against Sheldon Cooper when she played Dr. Leslie Winkle on Big Bang Theory mostly in seasons 1-3
I personally thought Bea Arthur was the funniest as Dorothy out of her and her mom Sophia spoke more out of hate and wasn’t afraid to admit that she meant it Dorothy was more of a Bea Arthur character and wasn’t like that at all While she had great delivery in what she said deep down she did care and that’s what made it funnier knowing that she could play with them more like that and they wouldn’t be so offended so it came off more playful making it that much more humorous
You should’ve included the butler from Fresh Prince!! I loved his sharp witted tongue🤣
Hello, can we be friends, I live in Austin Texas, what about you😊😊😊😊
While they're not savage characters per se, there's a hilarious scene in an episode of Suite Life Of Zack And Cody, Team Tipton, where the hotel staff savagely do imitations of one another except for 1 character, Arwin, who imitates himself
Arwin is a savage 😂
I absolutely love hearing niles throwing shade ❤❤
Me too
Salem needs to be more than an honorable mention he is all sarcasm, and "she came to enjoy his tongue lashings" was that an intentional innuendo or an accidental one?
Lily's "wambulance" lines just totally are very original, and made her the perfect compliment to Cam and Mitchell.
Chandler, Penny, April, and Cox are all on the same level... however....
Karen, Sophia, and Niles all totally set the standard.. and they were savage even on themselves at times.
You forgot Roz from Frasier. She tore into Niles and Bulldog all the time
Fred G Sanford was also a savage when it came to Esther, Lamont and pretty much everyone else.
Sal and Lily's rivalry is always so funny that little "ill go to your next one" scene is soooo funny for me never gets old. all these are on point!
Missed Brooklyn Nine-Nine, there were a number of savage characters in the precinct. Capt. Holt, Gina, and Diaz being the ones that immediately come to mind.
Amazing video ms mojo,fantastic job.
Darlene Conner from Roseanne
I think Benita Lopez from the Lopez Show should have gotten an honorable mention. But I do agree that Niles is the of his class in being savage with burns
Cats don't guard they watch and judge the best savage salem quote
Characters who DESERVED to be mentioned:
1. Frank Barone (Everybody Loves Raymond)
2. Geoffrey (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air)
3. Maxine Shaw (Living Single)
4. Berta (Two and a Half Men)
5. Mona Thorne (Half n Half)
6. Wilson (Home Improvement)
7. Andell Wilkerson (Moesha)
8. Samuel (Mike and Molly)
9. Nick Miller (New Girl)
10. Alex Russo (Wizards of Waverly Place)
Ok crap list where's Al Bundy? where's geoffrey from Fresh Prince? Where's Frank Barone? where's Red Forman? Hell even Marcy from Married with children was savage.
Niles Crane and Roz from Fraser always gives the best forest fires of burns 😂
Louie DePalma - the caustic / hilarious dispatcher from Taxi!!
Cannot forget him! Lol
Sophia ate up all the Golden Girls😂😂😂❤❤❤
Changing tacks, the background characters of Spongebob Squarepants are truly ruthless with their savagery and worthy of a list of it's own.
The butler's first name is Niles. His last name is never mentioned.
Actually no his full name is Edward Ezel Niles once he marries C.C her last name goes from Babcock to Niles
I know right
He even said in one episode it's just Niles, like Cher.
How could you forget Al Bundy from Married with...Childern!?!?! He is the living embodiment of savagement.
Sophia literally has no filter as it was destroyed when she had her stroke, but something tells me that she never used it.
Julius and Rochelle from Everybody Hates Chris, more so Rochelle since she spoke her mind and always said her man worked two jobs to quit her job.
Where's Hyde from That's 70s Show (yes, I know Danny Masterson is now in prison but we can still appreciate the character he played)?
Especially his jabs at Laurie!. Some of them were brutal!
You're forgetting Dee Thomas (What's Happening),Laura Winslow (Family Matters), Benson Dubois (Soap/Benson), and Florence Johnston (the Jeffersons)
Finally, someone has told me what Niles's first name is! Plus, I was about to so annoyed if Niles wasn't number 1.
Jeffery from fresh prince he's comedic insults were unstoppable 😂😂😂😂
This kind of sitcom character is my favourite. It is basically how I would like to be irl (people would hate me though). Also no Gina Linetti?
Geoffrey from Fresh Prince of Bel Air should've gotten an honorable mention at least, he was super savage to everyone in the Banks family.
Justice for Mimi from The Drew Carey Show
I mean she sent Drew to the Great Wall of China as a prank, her mom was played by Tammy Faye Bakker and Grandma was played by Phyllis freaking Diller for goodness sake
Hello, can we be friends, I live in Austin Texas, what about you😊😊
i am kind of surprised no one from frasier was on this list lol.
Surprised Jeffrey from the Fresh Prince wasn't at least an honorable mention, but all in all, still a great list.
Just found out, RIP Matthew Perry.
Okay, I'm gonna say it. Phoebe, that last line of your script...Phrasing!
Bernadette over Penny in TBBT. A favourite for me is the airport scene where the body of Howard"s mother has gone missing. Bernadette says to the unfortunate female airline employee, "One way or another, we are going home with a dead women's body".
RIP Matthew Perry. Just found out
My dude Geoffrey even get a mention?
Hopefully there's a part 2 of savage burns. There were a few that were not mentioned at all.
The only ones that NEED to be here are Chandler Bing, Mitchell Pritchett from ModernFamily, and Geoffrey from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
I'm guessing Al Bundy was too much of a professional savage to be on the list 😂
Niles Crane should have made the list
Didn't know Niles first name was Edward, honestly thought it was something else more unusual.
OTHERS:
Basil Fawlty (Fawlty Towers)
the Chicken (Married With Children)
Archie himself (All In the Family)
Fred G. Sanford (Sanford & Son)
Moe Howard (Three Stooges)
Dan Fielding (original Night Court)
Stewie (Family Guy)
Hot Lips (M*A*S*H)
Ol' Leadbottom (McHale's Navy)
Louie (Taxi)
Love this list. I think you missed Santana from Glee.
The show Becker..that character was depressingly mean.
Hello, can we be friends, I live in Austin Texas, what about you😊😊😊
OMG! RIP Matthew Perry.
Can;t believe Niles and Fraiser Crane didn't make this list!
I didnt even know Niles had a first name
Why did I think that was Carlo Ancelotti in the thumbnail 😂😭💀
For a Good Bad Girl like Kazumi; she can be very savage from time to time and that’s what make her entertaining. For this list I’m doing the Top 10 Kazumi Schlierenzauer Savage Moments. To me, Kazumi is one of the best Brynhildr in the Darkness anime Girls/Wifus who stole the show and my heart. Good and Bad coming from her is her way of expressing herself to others. Okay, let’s get to the list.
Top 10 Kazumi Schlierenzauer Savage Moments
1.Kazumi removing Kana’s top dress and calling Kotori a “Bigger Pig”- The Clue That was Left
2.Kazumi calling out the “Fan Boys” on betting that they haven’t kiss a girl- Fragments of Hope
3.Kazumi joined Ryouta at the Hot Spring- Lost Memories
4.Kazumi’s introduction- Death Suppressants
5.Kazumi in Ryouta’s Bedroom - The Clue That was Left
6.Kazumi calling out Kotori on not having many friends - Proof She's Alive
7.Kazumi kick Ryouta in his chin while wearing her swimsuit - Fragments of Hope
8.Kazumi kick Ryouta with her foot - Lost Memories
9.Kazumi ask Ryouta on why he is staring at Kana for ? - Astronomical Observations
10. Kazumi water hosing Neko and Kotori - The Reason For Her Smile
Honorable Mentions

* Kazumi calling out Kana on not deciding to tell Neko that she can move by pressing her top harnessed - Lost Memories
*Kazumi poking Kotori’s right breast and swap kick Ryouta in his face- - Astronomical Observations
Captain Holt's animosity toward Madeline is gold.
You snubbed Al Bundy!
Very good choice for number one ^^
I would also mention Chloe from "Don't trust the b*tch from Apartment 23". She is amazing! ...as long ss you ain't the roommate. Or her enemy. Then she is tereifying :D
I was about to riot if Karen Walker wasn't listed. Well deserved spot.
You could probably do a top 100 list of this topic. Those characters are so common in sitcoms
Yes, they are so easy to write for. Not needing to create a punching bag character 1lonside is the really hard part. Niles could only be the best because CC is great too.
How can you forget Al Bundy from Married With Children or Bertha from Two and a Half Men or Fred Sanford from Sanford and Son they all deserve to be on the list
no Al Bundy? Marcy Rhodes? Peggy Bundy?
Yeah, unbelievable, right?
My favourite memory of Niles was when he was a bit high from the furniture polish. No idea which episode it was, but I vaguely remember having trouble breathing for a while.
Red Forman (That 70s Show)
Thelma Harper (Mama's Family)
If it wasn’t a drama, I’d suggest dowager countess grantham from Downton Abbey
Never knew Niles first name was Edward, few shows that I've seen on this list are Big bang theory, friends and the nanny, also this video was FREAKING funny 🤣!
…growing up with a slew of quick witted and brutally charming women is why I relate with the likes of Julia Sugarbaker, with her tirades steeped in refined eloquence made her iconic on Designing Women. There is Cybill’s BFF Mary Ann Thorpe, “Doctor Dick!” Aside from the Brothers Crane of Frazier, the ice cold Lilith Sternin and the deliciously unholy star maker agent Bibi Glaser. The Absolutely Fabulous Patsy Stone plus more from across the pond.
Salem of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" & Max of "2 Broke Girls" are my Faves on Honorable Mentions.
there's a great SNL behind the scenes stories where "Chandler" basically took credit for INVENTING sarcasm. Norm McDonald called him out for it. Oh, good times.
What???? Al 4 touchdown Bundy's not on the list?????? Al Bundy out did all this other characters in one season alone together with all their episodes and seasnons combined. Honestly, he made all these others look warm and kind to the heart.
Al was savage. Rest were just the comma after.
