You all should be ashamed of this list. Diversify your staff or just shut down operations because this list is just disrespectful.
This list had 1 black person. Pretty white washed list watch mojo. I’m not mad but just disappointed
@@rubenlara30 Which mainstream, popular black characters in sitcoms should have been included?
@@davidz2562 as mentioned Urkel, and I will add George Jeffreson, JJ Walker, Sanford. Essentially pop cultural icons. I was gonna add Cosby but yeah, no
@@rubenlara30 fax
How could Ed O'Neill not be on this list for Al Bundy?
YES!
Because WM won't include someone who's very politically incorrect.
Woke culture 🤦♂️. His insults and comebacks were the best!
@@renecarteir8092 - "Well I'd say it behind your back, but my car's only got half a tank of gas!"
@@chrisrj9871 😂😂😂😂 probably my favorite line. Also love "you know medium? The size between small and YOU!"
Creed from the office is deadass one of the funniest characters I’ve seen period
Honest to god
Dark humour love it
That guy is so mysterious 😆😆😆😆
Creed is the legend
Michael scott's endless faux pas and failure to understand social boundaries made for countless hilarious moments. He is one of the reasons the show remains so rewatchable and it explains the drastic dip in quality when he left.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Yes, continuing without him was a mistake.
@@andrewjones575 yes 😁😁😁
He is actually the reason I can't watch The Office, there's cringe humor and there's too cringe, and he crossed the line for me.
@@hartursoaki4808 Which cringe comedy sitcoms do you prefer?
Also his hatred for Toby lmao
“You have no idea the physical toll that three vasectomies have on a person!” Is and always will be my favorite line of Michael’s
Snip snap, snip snap, snip snap!!
Speeking about vasectomies I rememember Dr. Cox :D
I'm not superstitious. I'm just a little sticious.
WHERE ARE THE TURTLES
I DECLARE BANKRUPTCYYYYYYYYYY
Also for Phil Dunphy, when he loses his optimistic edge, he goes so far off into left field, it just adds to the hilarity. That Fulgencio episode was amazing lol.
Jake Peralta,Barney Stinson, Chandler Bing..the comedy kings in my opinion
Put them all in a room together, omg we all would be dying
"I am not superstitious, just a little stitious" - Michael Scott
In Brooklyn 99 I loved Terry, his face has ability to show every emotion in funny way.
Terry loves Terry
Terry is my favourite of Brooklyn 99! Just such a loveable character!
my favourite is charles
Raymond Holt. This dude is hilarious!
@@squishirox6sic6 FCK yeah he's great too.
You forgot Al Bundy he gave America so many laughs in the 90s between his back and forth with his neighbor Marcy or cracking jokes on fat women at the job he hated at a shoe store he always had me cracking up
damn straight.
I was going to say, if Al wasn't in the top 20, he definitely deserves an honorable mention.
They did not forget Al Bundy, leaving him out makes their list a politcally correct joke...
I agree 💯percent!!!
Martin Payne, Dick Solomon.
I miss Niles from The Nanny. He was hilarious🤣
Chandler was the best character on Friend's, and the most relatable.
You mean WORST character of all 6 of them
@@tommiegreen that was Ross. And it's not even close
@@gfear24 Ross >> Chandler
Damn right
Omg, you think Chandler is the most relatable? Like how funny do you think you are
George Costanza made it to the list but not Kramer? At least he deserves to gets mentioned in the honor mentions
One per show.
Costanza is waaay funnier than Kramer
@@amirsaleh4152 that’s crazy talk
Kramer is basically the heart and soul of the sitcom
Barney and Sheldon should be a lot higher on this list - they both made the shows they were in so much better
I agree 👍
Yep!
Scandal they barely made the list. *Definitely* both belong in the top ten if not top five.
I agree with Barney
The fact that Red Fox wasn't even on the honorable mentions is just sad. Shame on you Watch Mojo, shame!!!
You'd think they'd include him since they're "super progressive"
What about Dwight Schrute
I won't waste my time watching now, thank you.
They obviously have no black people on their staff
@@tommiegreen Not true! That's a horrible thing to claim.
No love for the American Hero , “4 touchdown passes in one game!”. How dare you forget him!!!
I'm looking forward to WatchMojo's top 5 basketball players of all time:
5. Michael Jordan
4. John Stockton
3. Dirk Nowitzki
2. Steve Nash
1. Larry Bird
They don't make many sports lists.
🤣🤣🤣
@@davidz2562 They did it before. It was garbage tho but they did it
Hahaha I see what you did there
Haha. I definitely see what you did there. I have the same complaint. And in response to the other person on here, they definitely make sports list on WatchMojo.
Stinson only 19th??? Not even in Top 10 for his character development and creating such memorable quotes and Brocode???
Yes, he's much better than the large majority of the higher-rated characters in this.
Facts should be way higer
This list made me laugh.
Watch mojo once again shit the bed. Barney should at least be top 10
He is THE standout of HIMYM. He deserves at least a Top 10, for me is Top 5
20.) Will Smith- The Fresh Prince of Bel- Air
19.) Barney Stinson- How I Met Your Mother
18.) Baldrick- Blackadder
17.) Sheldon Cooper- The Big Bang Theory
16.) Moira Rose- Schitt’s Creek
15.) Phil Dunphy- Modern Family
14.) Sophia Petrillo- The Golden Girls
13.) Frasier Crane- Frasier
12.) Winston Schmidt- New Girl
11.) Tobias Fünke- Arrested Development
10.) Hawkeye Pierce- MASH
9.) Leslie Knope- Parks and Recreation
8.) Mork- Mork and Mindy
7.) Jake Peralta- Brooklyn Nine Nine
6.) Chandler Bing- Friends
5.) Larry David- Curb Your Enthusiasm
4.) Archie Bunker- All in the Family
3.) George Costanza- Seinfeld
2.) Michael Scott- The Office
1.) Lucy Ricardo- I Love Lucy
H.M
1.) Sam Malone- Cheers
2.) Liz Lemon- 30 Rock
3.) Red Foreman- That 70’s Show
4.) Karen Walker- Will and Grace
5.) Frank Reynolds- It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
WTF is the 1st place i have never seen that
Wtf there's no Charlie Harper in this list..
How is Frank not on the list wtf
And Lucy? That makes no sense
The most whitest mojo list ever! Might as well replace 20 with a character from full house
@@rockroll3065 Arthur from King of queens
Phil Dunphy doesn't deserve to be that low. I love most characters in the list but Phil is someone who is just full of life and fun. A funny positive guy is the best combo and ty burrel nails the role to perfection
No love for Al Bundy? Married… with Children basically was the bridge to modern darker humor comedy!
Charlie Harper should have been on this list
I know right? People can say what they want about Charlie Sheen, but Charlie Harper was gold. Two and a Half Men is up there with Friends for me!
@@Blitze9792 two and a half men is surely better and funnier than friends
Berta was funnier than charlie
Redd Fox as Fred Sanford of Sanford and Son is hands down one of the funniest situation comedy characters of all times.
Shocked, saddened, and DISAPPOINTED that they didn’t include a single Community character. And Its Always Sunny on honorable mention?! They must be smoking crack. Any one of those characters from both shows are funnier than the majority of shows on this list
Community has never had mainstream popularity, only a cult following.
@@andrewjones575 Video should be retitled then. WatchMojo CANCELLED
Once again my favorite sitcom is getting ignored, Al Bundy is one of the funniest characters I've seen on television and made me laugh a lot with his machine gun quips.
Should have been at least in the top 3.
Same I was wondering where Al Bundy was
Factual
4 touchdowns in a single game!!
MARTIN PAYNE???!!! No Martin??? WTF??? So I guess you're going to just do a funniest non white character list lmao this is a joke 🤣
For real! Seriously, one black character? My list would have Martin, Fred Sanford, George Jefferson, JJ Evans, Jamie King, and Pops Williams. I'd also have Jessica Huang from Fresh Off the Boat.
Where is Michael Kelso. Also Hal from Malcolm in the Middle should be high up on this list
Imagine Basil Fawlty not being on this list.
A ridiculous omission in this excessively Americentric list.
Let's just feel sorry for a country that has never seen Father Ted, The IT Crowd, Rising Damp, Porridge, One Foot in the Grave, etc, etc... Let them have their list and we'll have ours.
100% agree!!! Number one in my books.
Faulty? What’s wrong with him is one of the funniest lines in history
Barney and Sheldon deserve in top 5
Barney 19!!? He’s hilarious!! Ur killin me!! Lol
Some characters that definitely should have been here, are Troy or Abed (or both sharing one spot because they are a comedy duo) from Community, Barry Goldberg from the Goldbergs, Tim Taylor from Home Improvement, and Howard or Raj instead of Sheldon for Big Bang Theory.
Nah
@@lewiscarter1229 yes
Just about Anyone from community!!
@@kelly2708 yeah honestly, even the side characters are hilarious
Troy and Abed should have made the list!
Imagine having a Funniest Sitcom Characters of All Time list without Dan Fielding / John Larroquette and Al Bundy / Ed O Neill.
Oh.
Man alive, I love John Larroquette. 💚
I find Ross Geller to be funnier than Chandler Bing and Dwight Schrute to be funnier than Michael Scott
No Jack Tripper (John Ritter) from Three's Company? How dare you?!?
Feel exactly the same....
Barney 19? Sheldon 17? Are you out of your goddamn mind?
BOY HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND CAUSE I'LL HELP YOU FIND IT
Seriously why is Sheldon ranked so low
Ed Norton?
Basil Fawlty?
Al Bundy?
Those three are funnier than 95% of this list.
Well, they put in one character from before 1970. So that is progress for them but no Barney Fife, Jethro Bodine? or even Ralph Kramden.
Martin, Dick Solomon
Phil Dunphy deserves more respect I could not stop laughing on so many occasions
Sheldon Cooper and George Castanza are my favorite sitcom stars!
Kramer? Michael Richards is a physical comedy genius!
I think they chose to exclude Kramer because of the bad publicity that Richards received in response to him using the 'n-word'.
Because he’s a fucking racist
@@tommiegreen Him being a racist has nothing to do with him being a funny actor and Kramer being a funny character. Seriously, excluding Kramer on a list like this is just insane.
@@tommiegreen I guess a lot of B people are racist because they say the word all the time.
@@calebwinfield1403 how can a black person be racist towards another black person? You sound dumb af. Kramer was talking about hanging nwords from trees. How could you defend that.
I'm surprised they didn't include Steve Urkel. I thought he would at least be in the honorable mentions.
It’s a white list, added Will Smith at 20th for diversity.
I was thinking of Urkel as well.
Oh yeah I forgot all about Steve Urkel, I agree they should have put Steve Urkel on this list, because that dude funny as heck.
No Steve Urkel?! Seriously?! Not even an honorable mention???!!!
Without Niles from “The Nanny”…this list is incomplete!!
It's very disappointing that you never mentioned the character of Al Bundy of Married with Children plays by Ed O'Neill. Married with Children was a great TV show.
I'm so mad that Michael Scott isn't no. 1 but again he's too modest to claim such a position 😌
Charlie from two and a half men deserves a spot somewhere on this list.
He should be in top 10
Christ, has anyone ever watched Community? Troy Barnes and Abed Nadir rightfully deserved a spot on this list!
The large majority of people have never seen it - look at its viewing figures.
@@davidz2562 That's the unfortunate truth I guess :/
Agreed, a spot near the top too!
Troy and Abed in the mooorning!
Throw in Pierce as well
Michael Kelso not in top 20?!?! He should be top 5
Can’t believe Basil Fawlty isn’t here ??
They've only included 1 UK character.
Is Baldrick there as the token non-American? Even then, how is he funnier than Basil Fawlty?
How did I forget about Basil Fawlty? "Would you care for a rat?"
I would’ve picked Jeffery from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. He was always on fire with his comebacks.
How the Hell is Al Bundy nor Fred Sanford on this list... But Bazinga Boy is? I am at a loss.
Its common to include recently characters compared to old characters (relatively) not fair but this is how it works
The day that Frazier is funnier than fresh prince or Phil dunphey.
The day that Will Smith is less funnier than everybody else WTF?
The fact that Ron Swanson isn't on this list is a sin
Exactly he’s more funny than Leslie easily
Agreed
Michael Scott is the funniest character ever 🤣
No Dan Fielding from Night Court? John Larroquette won 4 Emmy awards for that role.
I noticed that omit too. John Larroquette put so much into making such a likeable character.
The legend who scored 4 thouchdowns in a single game should be first here...the number one shoe salesman
YES
Who?
@@andrewjones575
Seriously!? Al “Stinkfoot” Bundy.
The fact that Sheldon is 17th on this list is CRIMINAL
Big Bang Theory has never been funny…..
Agreed, he should be much higher
The fact that no one from Always Sunny (Besides Frank being an honorable mention) is stunning to me.... Its the longest running live action comedy of all time for a reason, but I guess it would be hard to pick 1 character since they work so well as a group.
I would pick Charlie. I'm upset he's not on the list.
Mojo never give it’s always sunny any type of recognition.
@@dextermorgan4432 or Dennis...you know because of the implication
@@trevoryoung7184 mojo sucks cause of that
I miss Robin Williams so much, even to this day.
Same here.
Martin Payne has got to be the funniest sitcom character ever. Not to forget Al Bundy, Dick Solomon, Ralph Kramden...
Kind of wrong but ok
@@eugenegutierrez4639 kinda right
Cameron Tucker, Michael Scott, Al Bundy, Sheldon Cooper, Mr. Bean, Phil Dunphy, Barney Stinson - This are the ones for me
This channel has a young viewership, so its staff's devotion to I Love Lucy (which most viewers haven't seen) is bizarre.
i agree, to me it just feels pretentious
Exactly!!
I love lucy is a classic and she deserves to be number one
@@fullhousefrek
No she doesn’t. There are a ton more funnier characters on this list than her. She got number 1 because she’s an old time icon, but she’s not the funniest. That’s like saying comedy doesn’t progress and only old shows are funnier than new ones. It’s why I hate lists that put Jimi Hendrix as the greatest guitarist when many have progressed beyond him that came after. He’s the most important guitarist, but not the greatest.
@@AntonXul Lucy will forever be #1
Two most glaring omissions: Kramer and Mr.Bean.
I’m almost in tears that Jack Tripper wasn’t even worthy of an honorable mention. Y’all are too young to be doing these types of lists. Stay in your lane.
Tears. I feel exactly the same.Jack Tripper is my #1
Ritter was king.
John Ritter was one of the all time greats!!! Blows away a lot of people on this list!
Dwight not being here should be a crime
i love Sheldon cooper in the Christmas episode from the big bang theory when he got a napkin from Leonard nemoy and the other when he pranks on his enemy
Schmidt is hilarious, but he shouldn't been ranked better than Barney or Sheldon
George Constanza is the greatest character in any type of literature ever written
Does WatchMojo hate Scrubs and Community? This is the second “Best of” sitcom list to not even mention either show in the Honourable Mentions…
Ik! They are my two favorite sitcoms and never get any love!
This list without Jack Tripper (Three’s Company) or Barney Fife (Andy Griffith Show) is an embarrassment!
How about a list of greatest “straight men” of sitcoms, like Mindy from Mork & Mindy or Andy Taylor from the Andy Griffith Show?
I agreed with Tripper...I loved this guy
I am surprised none of the Characters from Night Court made the list.
Al Bundy not even mentioned. What a joke of a list
They won't include someone who's very politically incorrect.
The Janitor from Scrubs. And I firmly believe Charlie from it's Always Sunny should be number 1
Whoah. I was thinking the same!!!! I love Dennis on It's Always Sunny as well. When he gets angry. On Scrubs Ted the lawyer is hilarious too. Of course, the JD is the funniest main character.
Trigger of Only Fools and Horses should surely be on this list has me in absolute stitches whenever he utters a line.
At least one character from OFAH should be included, but the list is ridiculously Americentric. All but one of the characters are from US sitcoms.
Niles from The Nanny should’ve been included 😉
And Sheldon should be higher on the list, he’s the funniest, even if he doesn’t know it 😂
I think sheldon was much funnier than many of those above him, phil in modern family should have been higher aswell
My favourite is Bunny from UK sitcom Drifters, which the vast majority of people haven't heard of. Although it's hilarious, it never had good viewing figures.
Joey from F.R.I.E.N.D.S should be in this video
Wow, I can’t believe Tim Allen from home improvement is not on this list. That is my favorite sitcom of all time. I love his comedic timing is goof ups and everything about that show.
How this list left out Kramer from Seinfeld is baffling. I would have thrown in Woody from Cheers as well.
I think Kramer is funnier then George honestly
You guys should check out "Still Game". It's a hilarious sitcom set in Scotland. It's on Netflix if you want to give it a shot. You may want to turn on the subtitles, the Scottish accent can bit a "wee" thick 🤣
Mojo is going to have to do a part two. You forgot Al Bundy, Martin Lawrence, Monique in the Parkers, Dina from Superstore, URKEL! There’s so many that were missed
In no particular order my tops list : Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute, Berta, Charlie Harper, Fraiser Crane, Rose, Evelyn Harper, George Costanza, Frank Costanza/Arthur Spooner, Marie Barone, Sheldon Cooper, Raymond Holt, Gina, Al Bundy, Doug Heffernan, John Becker, David Rose, Penny lol so many laughs cuz of these characters haha
Fresh prince ,Barney Stimson, hawkeye pierce, mork, george on seinfield..thanks.. My childhood to adulthood
I was hoping to see Ted Knight or Murray from The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Janet from The Good Place, Lenny/Squiggy from Laverne & Shirley, and maybe Buddy from the Dick Van Dyke Show.
So many choices on this list are so low: Will Smith, Sheldon, Barney, Phil Dunphy...
20: Will Smith - The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
19: Barney Stinson - How I Met Your Mother
18: Baldrick - Blackadder
17: Sheldon Cooper - The Big Bang Theory
16: Moira Rose - Schitt's Creek
15: Phil Dunphy - Modern Family
14: Sophia Petrillo - The Golden Girls
13: Frasier Crane - Frasier
12: Winston Schmidt - New Girl
11: Tobias Fünke - Arrested Development
10: Hawkeye Pierce - M*A*S*H
9: Leslie Knope - Parks and Recreation
8: Mork - Mork & Mindy
7: Jake Peralta - Brooklyn Nine Nine
6: Chandler Bing - Friends
5: Larry David - Curb Your Enthusiasm
4: Archie Bunker - All In the Family
3: George Costanza - Seinfeld
2: Michael Scott - The Office
1: Lucy Ricardo - I Love Lucy
My list:
7. Chandler Bing
6. Barney (NPH)
5. Sheldon
4. Larry David
3. George Costanza
2. Jerry Seinfeld
1. Kramer
You have issues if you find Sheldon more funnier than chandler.
You have issues if you find Jerry funnier than George. Jerry is the least funny of the main cast.
Baldrick is here but Blackadder himself isn't? Also, where's Basil Fawlty? Fail list
Their token non-American is a puzzling choice.
All on the list are funny people. Each has a special talent for making us laugh from just a giggle to a full on belly laugh with tears in our eyes!!!
I love how coach hollers NORM with the might of Zeus
Where is Al Bundy? He should be in the top 5. And Chandler should be in the top 3. And I don’t think Lucy should be on there at all. But that’s just me. To each their own.
I think Fred Sanford funnier than Chandler
1000% agree! I got to #5 thinking where's Bundy??? He better be top 5 or i'm gonna lose my shit! And I'm LOSING MY SHIT! Not even an honorable mention?!?!
Preach!!! Bro!!
Before watching this, Al Bundy should not only be on this list, but also be at the top of this list.
Edit: WTF?? Seriously? Not even an honorable mention?? Al Bundy was the greatest sitcom character ever. And I would have put Chandler and Sheldon with him to create the top three.
And I know he's not a human character, but what about Alf? What about Steve Urkle (no idea how to spell his last name lol)? This list is all wrong. I want a recount! Lol
I was thinking of Urkel, too.
Martin Payne, Dick Solomon
Also Ron Swanson
Love that you said "winston Schmidt" and not just Schmidt 😂
What about Charlie Kelly ( It’s always sunny in Philadelphia )
Or Vyvyan (Young Ones)
Kramer from Seinfeld and Dr. Perry Cox from Scrubs sure have a place on my top 20 list.
How did Al Bundy not make the list!!!!!?
This countdown list needs to be extended to 30 tv characters and include Al Bundy, Niles from THE NANNY, Ray Barone, and Niles Crane from FRAISER. And, then the top 3 of the list should be: #3 Sheldon Cooper, #2 Mork and #1 Lucy Ricardo.
So many you missed……Chuck and Bob Campbell from SOAP, Johnny Fever from WKRP, And the dynamic between Carter and Stuart on Spin City keeps me in stitches
Al Bundy, Fred Sanford, Steve Urkel, Kelso, JJ from Good Times. You guys missed alot
Ted Danson deserved 2 honorable mentions, Michael from The Good Place as well
Mind of upset this list didn't have JD from Scrubs. Hoping for a Part 2.
Scrubs seems to get overlooked a lot in these lists for whatever reason.
