There are actually a lot of SCP based around true events or phenomena! It's one of my favorite things about the archives. Some people are really dedicated to writing their entries and it's incredible.
Which is a shame because the story of the Winchester house is a lot more interesting. Trying to build a house to confuse spirits and survive a curse vs. building a confusing house to manifest the memories of your wife and kids. I think the latter would be better as a short story where it expanded on the actual family members and dynamic. If the concept of the story isn't as scary as the concept of the Winchester house then at least make me feel any emotion like sadness, anger, disgust, relief, etc. This story is fine, but it doesn't feel like an SCP story.
I wonder if SCP Explained will ever do the canon tales, like Apotheosis. They did the Ouroboros Cycle, so it's not too far out of the realm of possibility.

There are similarities between this and the Winchester house but there are also large differences Sarah Winchester was scared of the ghosts of the people killed by her husband's guns harming her specifically, so she built the house to confuse them. In this story, the husband wanted to bring people back instead of not wanting them around. Sarah was very paranoid and scared. She also didn't have one specific place where she made the alterations to the house, the entire house is a bit of a mess.
The wife was a cheater and the kids weren't his atleast, both had black hair but one had blonde, one had red. This means she cheating with atleast two more people on him
I think his arcane research was what got them killed, there’s no way that a normal healthy family would all die off randomly except for the only one conducting the research
Maybe Henry was crazy enough before and Catheryne tricked him into thinking they were his Children. She continued to pressure and abuse him, made him believe in his vulnerability that everything is fine. Still he loved her for he knew he couldnt have any other but her. Until one night he could not bear this psychological torture anymore and in a fit of desperate rage he killed her, not being able to control himself. And when the boys lost their Mother, the only person that could ever care for them was gone …. Day by day, they slipped deeper and deeper into their grief, loosing the will to live and eventually …. Henry not able to bear the tragedy he himself had caused through his lacking self restraint desperately tried to revive them, with the only thing he ever truly excelled in: Engineering

This story reminds me of the real story of the Winchester heiress. She was left alone, a widow and bereft. She felt the many who died of her husbands Winchester guns would haunt her. A physic told her to build rooms to confuse the ghosts and that's what she did. Hall ending suddenly, strange rooms and staircases to nowhere. But this story goes beyond that to him trying to bring his family back. Excellent tale.
Sounds like this is one of many stories based from the late Widowed Mad'am Winchester. Who extended the Winchester house much like a Labyrinth in the fear of being hunted down by ghouls that hated their family for having made the weapons of all of their demise. She eventually died in her own home, I can't quite remember if it was old age, getting lost, or something else however.
Yes, this scp is basically fnaf, an idea similar to remnant, when something dies, its agony and bad memories, (which the soul forcefully can't let go) forces it to not move on in the after life and reform into a terrifying entity at the location it died. Perfection
