Think that's bad? I technically killed three Spitfire Mk.IIs the other day in my TBD, one of them a IIb. Now, I say 'technically' because what happened was that they STALLED trying to TURNFIGHT on the deck and crashed, but the third one...well, let's just say that even a stock TBD can make a complete idiot out of a Spitfire Mk.IIb after I just peppered him for five minutes without taking any hits in return, then I had to ram him because his backup arrived in the form of the only other two remaining planes on his team, one of whom ran out of ammo trying to shoot me down earlier.
So basically it took six planes to put me down and I killed half of them, two of them without even firing a shot. We lost because the two remaining planes on my team (also in TBDs) were laughing so hard that they crashed into each other!
manever kills count as real kills, but according to wt they are too cool to count as kills for reserch/lions because those stingy devs.
@@josephdedrick9337 I imagine coming up with a way to make the game recognize maneuver kills without false positives (which is why simply giving you credit if an enemy crashes in your vicinity probably wouldn't work) would be extremely difficult.

Honestly tho, there's not really a lot of planes I can say personally top the TBD-1. Between how much of a joy to fly it it is, and the fact that many people (Used to) respect the Devastator, it's always fun to bring it into just about any game mode!!

My sole complaint about the TBD Devastator's implementation is the fact it has no sights for level bombing.
I bring this up because this thing had a Norden bombsight for level bombing irl.

Agreed. I use it in 4.0. Its just satisfying to take out higher level vehicles with.

Also I love the TBD this patch,but after your done covering the new patch's aircraft or whenever you want you can cover the AD-2,which I have made a custom skin for this patch

Fluffle Puff Considering the war record of the Devastator and the even more horrible war record of the Vindicator (Navy pilots called it the Wind Indicator), I was being sarcastic. But considering Bo's squad racking up the kills with the TBD, who knows, maybe the Vindicator would be epic in WT

packr72 There were a few planes that deserved their pilots be given the Medal of Honor, I believe the Vindicator is the worse in that respect though the Devastator isn't far behind.

The TBD-1 Is my first bomber. I'm new to this game (on PS4) and it's doing the job.

Other than being outdated, the TBD-1 carried the mk13 torpedo, which was faulty and rarely actually did anything to enemy ships.

Actually the issue was that the torpedoes it carried were shit, if the torpedos actually exploded this plane would've done way better
The entire TBD squadron that attacked the Hiryu were destroyed, but that left the ship open to SBD dive bombers which crippled the ship.

Rikki Tikki Tavi - brought back memories of hiding in my room trying to stay out of sight and out of mind from the abusive parents I had. Books got me the hell out of there frequent enough that I didn't lose my mind and never killed anyone. This is 30 years ago now. :-)
The TBD was partially responsible for sinking the Shōhō at Coral Sea.

It's missing the "improved torpedoes" that is currently under investigation.
Can we really say the TBD Devastator was a bad plane? It was outdated but preformed decently well at Coral sea IIRC. During Midway when this thing earned its bad reputation there were six TBF Avengers who took part in the battle as well and 5 of the 6 were lost. The Devastator's also went in without fighter cover, and lets not forget the very faulty Mk 13 it used.
+JTelli786 Any torpedo bomber that attacks an aircraft carrier without fighter support is going to get massacred. No matter how good the plane's performance, torpedoes are big and heavy, and in order to launch it you have to approach at a fixed speed and height. Let's not forget the Japanese B5N had a rough reception at Midway, too; 5 of the 10 "Kates" attacking Yorktown were lost, and only 2 scored hits.

For me it should be atleast 2 MG or 1 cannon to kill fighters

One 50 cal. kills faster than 2 50 cals. how is this even possible?? But seriously this plane is not bad at all, it can take quite a lot of bullets at its tier and is a good turner after all.
They seem to have gotten the speed right, but this this is WAAAAAAY too maneuverable.

MrLM002 But it was heavy with an under powered engine. The plane was known for its sluggishness and unmaneuverability. I was hoping it flew like the HS129 but instead we get a mini-spitfire.

@Bo Time Gaming Could you PLEASE do a bf 109 E-4 video? I've been flying it around the last couple of days and its just NASTY! I'm not a fantastic pilot (usually only getting 1 or 2 kills and if I'm lucky 3), but my last 5 matches in it was 2 kills, 2 kills, 3 kills, 4 kills and 4 kills. Thanks!
