The governors should be more accountable.
With due respect to Soludo, Nigeri does not pay ALL Nigerians. They should stop this hypocricy. There's nothing deep about discussing the welfare of civil servants. They're actually the ones doing the work. Settle their minimun wage first before national minimum wage.

Then we can revise the topic again.
NLC should be directly negotiating with the states, who make up about 87% of government workers. It does not matter what agreement NLC reaches with FG, states will FRUSTRATE the agreement by not paying it. Some states have not paid the N30,000 agreed in 2019. NLC did nothing about it

Giving the floor to someone that refused to pay 30k up till the present day to comment on serious issues. We should stop playing in this country
Did you even listen to him. So much ignorance. The government doesn't have the money.
You people are calling for mass layoffs and the collapse of the economy.
They keep the number of people they can pay. If you cannot pay do the work yourself. Govt is not charity. Don't hire your entire village.
@@rotimikayode1072 yeah, no money when it concerns the common man on the street, but when it's time to pay themselves salaries and prostitute allowance, you will hear billions
@@stephenonuoha5018 The people in government are not many and their total pay cannot do more than 5% of what Labour collects. There is so much ignorance in this country.
Soludo you are right 👍 thanks for telling them the truth
Which truth
Smart answer
They all know what they're doing 😎😎😎😎
Nice one
Great
So he thinks there are no grave consequences for paying slave wages
Nigeria have ran away from this discussion for a long time. This issue is beyond paying minimum wage until Nigeria fixes its infrastructures and start producing. Certainly I don't think any politician has the answer. The Nigerian structure have been wrong from 1914. This is the Nigerian truth. My only disappointment with Soludo is that he showed no empathy in his submission.
Good one
Labour is fighting the wrong cause! Fight for reduction in cost of government. Politicians should earn minimum wages. What are they producing?
God please 🙏 help dis country
Any governor that has done his assessment and discovered that he can't pay minimum wage should please resign so that a more competent fellow that will deliver can come in.
It is not compulsory that you remain a governor....If you don't have the capacity to grow the state income and pay minimum wage, leave the office.
May God 🙏 help dis country from the ✋ of our heartless leaders.
We need good sensitization on the minimum wage
Let the government start paying the new minimum wage first, before the private sector will start.
You spoke intelligently. This FG just came to cause confusion in this country. They should have left everything the way they met it from buhari. See the effect of "subsidy is gone" and "Naira floating". Now the same subsidy is being budgeted for again now and prices of things would never go back to what it was before. What a confusion
Plesee talks like an intelligent person. Jonathan and Buhar government was borrowing international loans 2 trillion and 1 billion every month to subsidize petrol and dollars that some cartels were eating, which had drastically destroyed our economy and you still want that to continue. Really. Which planet are you from.
Now, this administration is using local source loan of 300 billion and less than 300 million to subsidize petrol and dollar and they have paid back some of our international loan. Our forex capital that have been dead were now reviving. Yes. We masses were paying badly for this because of HARDSHIP. That is why we are asking Government too to share the burden and reduce their expenses to help masses and salary workers. You guys should be sincere for ones
Thanks you all team supporting Hamster
😂😂😂😂
Una go hear am....shebi na labour😂😂
These are interesting conversations we should be having... very vital.
The are all running from the core of the discussion "the Remuneration of every Nigerian political office holders, civil service, private sector and all"
Textbook professor, Textbook economist after seeing soludo and his performance i now realized that professor is just a title and doesn't mean such a person has solution. I think we should start considering pple who has managed private business as governors to see if they will do better
Your making an sense
Pay what is sustainable not what is likeable.
Most times emotion blinds us from the truth.Wage increase will only cause inflation and retrenchment. NLC should agree to less than 60,000 naira on the following conditions:
50 percent reduction of presidency and NASS expenditure
Workers earning less than 6000 naira a month should pay no taxes
Students with family income of less than 120000 a month should not pay a dime for tertiary education
Federal government should stop monthly allocation to states once they fail to pay their workers
All government agencies should buy made in Nigeria vehicles
No international trips for all government functionaries for the next one year
The Lagos- Calabar road should continue only after at least 2 dysfunctional roads in each of the 6 regions has been rehabilitated
CNG buses should be made available to all the 36 states within a month
Provide security to farmers especially those producing staple food products
Free medical and dental mobile clinics in at least 2 cities per state
what’s unsustainable is the salaries and allowances given to the senate and top political officials. How can you earn as much as 13million monthly(which is less than their allowances) yet the average citizen earns 60k. Makes no sense
Soludo Solution 💡
He didn't tell President Tinubu this before he floated the Naira.
Floating the naira is NECESSITY as well as a good living package and increasing wages for the worker.
Soludo, as economists, share the data of employment in your state.
Fools are clapping
😂😂what will your state pay..😅
Wise is crying
Yes o, the mumus are clapping.
That's why the problem should not be to increase the minimum wage but to make food very affordable and available, simple as that
Food? How about transportation, electricity, housing?
Soludo is speaking with caution
It's how a sitting governor is not taking responsibility for the economic advancement of his people. He and his colleagues need to understand that they are in office to develop and implement policies for the growth of all. Question is, what is soludo doing to increase the IGR of his state? What target has he set for his administration regarding Anambra State's IGR in 2024? This conversation is too serious to result in these hahahahha im hearing up and down
Very unserious country.
You spoke well , however all senotors and Hon salary should be maximum of 5million monthly including allowances
Soludo you are a comedian
If the GDP per capita if a country is low, then the responsibility to live within that GDP is binding on both workers and politicians. Even the salary of the president should fall within the threshold.
The governors, house of Reps, senators and commissioners should cut down their allowances too to save cost
What a brilliant response from a financial expert. Nigerians need to know the truth and face the reality.
90 billion Naira for useless pilgrimages? How far?
Reduce the cost of governance
Truth is always bitter
Sad but true
If you do not have solution to the problems of Nigeria, what are you doing in governance?
The funny thing is when these carrier criminals talk, the gullible listeners will clap and laugh over the story he is telling them. Animal kingdom,
Só the real deal should abt the cost of governante, how to reduce inflation etc
He's not talking about cutting down....I think before minimum wage we will first of all slash down governance eg our senators and others we know about including you speaking sir
So the private business owners can't afford to pay the wage and their mounting pressures on laboiur against it government. Na waooooo
Self interest if our politicians
Why not give room for questions
I don't understand
Soludo have said several times that he had not received any salary from Anambra, since he became Governor. Except for this administration
The biggest problem I see are, the loud life style of politicians, and the lack of infrastructure. If settings things like, housing, cheap public transportation are put in place, that would do us more good than increasing salaries which will then come with inflation and after 3months, labour would return to street demanding additional salary increase.
Let the masses breath... political office holders should reduce their take home, no more purchase of new vehicles
Soludo is eloquent, agreed. But how has he performed as governor? Talk indeed is cheap.
Those in government complain of how difficult to pay the minimum wage yet it is easy for politicians in service to buy a 2023 land cruser jeep of over 500 million so the inequality of sharing of the public fund is the genesis of this agony the cost and entitlement of senators security levys and other benefits of top politicians should come back to minimum wages standard.
