I used to collect expensive watches, like Omega, Breitling, Rolex, IWC, etc. Recently dived into the +-$300 watches and can honestly say, quality wise they literally not that far off.
Especially Chinese watches
When you wear a cheap watch YOU know you have a cheap watch. I have an £800 Hamilton which looks lovely but I rarely wear because I know I have a cheap watch on my wrist.

What a bargain! I have a couple of Addiesdive myself and the quality of their watches are pretty good for what they ask. Sometimes I question myself why did I spend so much on famous brand names when 99% of the people don't care what you are wearing when they are sporting Apple watches...
Why do you buy watches to impress people in the first place?
These are unbelievable in the flesh for the money. They look so much more expensive. Finishing is great and a bit of originality in the dials.
I got a white 2018 off of the company's Amazon listing for $103 US. It is a great looking piece. So far, it picks up about 4-5 seconds per day. Wasn't thrilled with the bracelet so I replaced it with a brown alligator strap from Barton and it gets compliments. I love it!
You've got to ask yourself if the Chinese can make a quality watch this cheaply how much does it actually cost the high end watch brands to make a watch.
Please keep in mind that high end watch brands pay a living wage to the watch makers and engineers. That factors into cost.
High end watches will still be running decades later. These cheap Chinese watches will conk out after 18 months.
The high end watch makers aren't using practical slave labour and resources pillaged from poor nations through CCP debt traps...

I have an AD 2023, it seems to be of incredible quality and has become one of my favourite watches!
bought myself the brown dial and got the white one as a gift for a mate.. absolutely beautiful. slapped on a nice black-brown old looking lethear strap and its amazing.. highly highly reccomend for that price
Late last year I bought an Addie's dive dive watch that, although it homages the famous Swiss diver, it's not a 1 to 1 copy.
I was also very impressed with the build quality and level of finishing. Also, with 316L ss case, 200m wr, screw down crown and case back, sapphire crystal, solid oyster style bracelet with a milled clasp it was extreme value at only $57.00 AUD with free shipping!
And to go out in a limb (in my opinion) it's better quality than my Invicta Pro Diver and even 😵💫 my beloved Duros.
Actually tempted to pick the white one up, just having the fight the brand snob in me first.
I'm buying the white one as a nice looking watch that I can wear with abandon. I've got nice watches to baby if I want.
The finish on these is BETTER than the Submariner i bought in 1992 for £1850. Luxury brands have become so stratospheric that even people who can afford them are starting to question WHY? When I bought my first Rolex it was WAY better than a £100 - but now a £10k Roles is not that much better finished than a £100 watch

Every quartz watch should be a mechaquartz watch, the sweeping seconds hand looks so nice. I love my automatics but in a way the mechaquartz is the best of both worlds because you don't have to worry about servicing it especially if you want a chronograph considering how complex the movement could get on those. I could pretty confidently service a semi cheap automatic that I really don't care about but I don't think I could ever put a chronograph back together
I should've looked into the cheap chinese watches earlier, absolutely amazing what you can get. Most definitely going to replace my beater watches with some of these things
I have the adiesdive 2030 in white and it has become one of my favorite watches even though i have watches 20 times more expensive.
Its just so gorgeous and comfortable because of its small size. And the quartz also makes it an easy grab and go watch.
Glad you to see an AD2030 in person, it's a fantastic little watch. It's been spending a disproportionate amount of time on my wrist :)

The light blue dial looks like the shallow surf as you walk into the water on a beach.
Brown one is so perfect. I see some people judging watches by price. That is simply wrong. Yes you can judge a watch by the movement. But what most important is how does the watch make you feel . That brown dial makes me very happy indeed. 99% of the population has no idea about quartz,automatic,eco drive or hand wind. They do not care whether its a submariner, explorer or a day date. It is all about you.
Regarding the finish of the dial, I remembered working in a musical instrument importer who had stuff manufactured in China. Some of the guitars would arrive with a beautiful looking “quilting” in the maple top. At first you would think it was a veneer, but a few poorly finished guitars were broken and we investigated further to find that it was literally a printed decal. 😂 covered in lacquer. The effect was there to the untrained budget buyer. But the truth was, it was literally a piece of paper glued to a slab of random wood shaped like a guitar.

This is very similar if not almost identical to the Pagani PD-1731 that Jody reviewed a little while ago (a slightly different dial and slightly different case profile). I wouldn’t be surprised if all these manufacturers were somehow related to one another or at least using the same suppliers for a lot of parts. I got the pagani in the mail yesterday and it’s a cracking good watch for the price
I own the white version and bought the blue one for my GF so we can match. She loves the sweeping hand and the fact she never has to set it because it’s Quartz, and I love the light play during cloudy days. I also tested them up to 150m and they passed the static pressure test with flying colors and little case deformation

I recommend Tandorio mechanical watches, I have several of them including two with Titanium cases. They are excellent quality, have a Seiko movement and
are all priced between 80-125 USD. I have a number of other Chinese watches under 100 USD and have had no problems with them whatsoever. 😊
The only caveat with Tandorio is there's a guy that tests their watch resistance and several failed their pressure tests. Otherwise they're good.

Exclusive Seiko collector, I’ve dived (pardon the pun) into other Ali brands like Steeldive and always moved them on. Not tried Addies but saw this at £36 shipped and couldn’t not! Loathe the logo, and Deep Sea Hunter should really be replaced with ‘Meca-Quartz’, but could not pass this up at the price. Think it’ll be a keeper given cost, quality and look. Great video thanks I didn’t know the bracelet was solid end links either!
Can the jubilee strap on the blue AD2118 be swapped out for a rubber or leather? Looks like it might not be possible ?

Have both and they are incredible value.
The watch is great and i don't mind the mineral glass crystal, what i don't like about the watch is the case back, the laser cut/engraving of the case back are poorly finish that have sharp edges.
Is the addiesdive logo on dial applied? Can I remove it?
I bought my brother the white one for Christmas. They are very nice. The bracelet and clasp seeming a bit thin is the only thing I really have a problem with.
I have these exact two and have had both for awhile and they both are fantastic

Hi, I bought 2 and I received it yesterday. I would like to check if the date function is working well for you? It says on the first position, we can easily adjust the date, but the 2 that I received, I had to adjust the time to change the date. I am hoping I will receive a reply from you.

Just got my white dial in the mail today, been needing a white dial. Seiko would charge $295 if it were theirs. Quite pleased
JUST bought the white AD2030 for 35 usd. Seemed like a good deal, but with that PD 1731 rocking the same case and dial finish quality, same movement but with saphire glass for 27 USD, it fckd up my standard on budget watches
I fell in love with the san martin watch version when i saw it, though a bit expensive, ill prob get this one eventually mayhaps.
I noticed the light blue one had a couple of creases in the timepieces face where the hours are.From left to right horizonally. Check it out it's 2 or 3 rinkles looks like water damage on the paper face.

I love the 2030 but mine came with a broken movement. The upside is that I'm ordering a new movement for 7 bucks and plan to swap it out.

I got one and wore it for a couple of days. On the plus side, very nice looking sand dial, good size, nice second hand movement, its very light, 40e price. On the other hand, sharp lugs made little puncture wounds on my wrist and bracelet is terrible…its sharp, scrathes skin, pulls hair…my wrist is covered with rash and excoriations i never experienced before

I have the AD2118 and it is astonishingly good for the pittance it cost, it is also the most accurate automatic watch I own. Just a shame about the daft logo.

I picked up the sand colour one on sale for about £35, can't moan at that. My first AliExpress purchase and probably not my last.

I saw these too, but didn't bite. Foolish? Perhaps. But when you already have a collection of things at a more advanced level does it really make sense to buy more just because it is incredibly affordable for what it seems to offer? I'd buy it to satisfy my curiosity only and continue wearing other things. That said, at these sort of prices they become nearly disposable. If they're actually decently constructed, there is no need for any lesser looking beater watch. Personally, I prefer the look of the sand model, but the specs of the other dial variant.

So the uk price of Addiesdive is currently £54.25 so quite a bargain ! from there own website and should be no import duty at that price,not sure about the uk tax.

They raised the prices recently because a sale is coming so that the "discounts" appear larger. It will be 40 again, at best 35 with coupons.

Always funny to see people who normally review expensive items to be like “wow it’s actually made of stainless steel” when in reality all the components on pretty much any watch are extremely cheap to produce. Some people are just used to paying 400,000% markup or that one watch maker who charges 100k an hour to put his junk together.

Sure, if you're willing to drop the marketing, advertising, design and R&D budget to a minimum or outright wipe it away.
And production technologies sometimes too. Like in the case of insane Ballon Blue, which becomes an obvious mega-wow at high magnification.
@@generaltheory it’s literally cheaper to finish a Ballon Blue than it is to finish a Pitzmann or an Omega De Ville. Cartier is the biggest scam in the fashion watch market. Off the shelf movements and cheap eco-drive clones for thousands of bucks is ridiculous
I kind of agree. Frankly, you can only say this for watches with little R&D expenses, like OTS quartz pieces, or legacy models that haven’t changed much and also share movements off the shelf like the Black Bay. I’d personally cap the watch market at €10000, but that’s what I’d pay for hyper-complicated rare pieces with clear engineering buffs behind the manufacturing. For a girthy 3 hand dive watch, never more than €2000, which is what I’d pay for a Sea Dweller or PloProf, and for 200m divers something like €1000 is already a lot.
So, no Rolex should be more than $500?
