Anyone else tired of that Movado watch commercial? Got the Steeldive a couple of years ago and couldn’t be happier. Have the SKX007 and a couple of 5KXs and the Steeldive appears to be just as good.
@24hourgmtchannel64 I did. Maybe had it on for a month. And then I bought a NATO strap that I wore to the beach for a while. Most recently added a green leather strap I bought on Aliexpress for maybe $6? Changing the bracelet lightens the weight a little.
@@shootsouthpaw7771 Thanks. I wanted it on the SS metal band and the ones on bracelet were sold out for the past several days. I just went on the Aliexpress Steeldive store after posting the comment and they had them available so I just ordered.
I dislike the blue AR coating on all of these watches, but Steeldive SD1970 seem to have addressed the niggle. I have ordered a Watchdives WD6105 though. Will have to check when it lands here in India.
Same here, I really do not like blue AR coating, I even polished it off once on a cheap watch, if I wanted a watch with blue crystal I'd look for one. I own 6 Steeldive, unfortunately the Steeldive SD1952, which is the most expensive one, has blue AR coating, but I love wearing it because it's a fantastic watch, it looks awesome and runs just perfect.
Funny enough I agree with your comparison for this watch and the tuna. I own the steeldive 1970, and the addiesdive tuna. 1970 in black, but the tuna I went with the bright blue.
Thanks for the great comparison. I’m surprised that they are different at all. I actually have a Watchdives Willard. I’m pretty sure it’s a Steeldive rebranded. Thanks again.
Addiesdive for me! Essentially thr same watches for even less money, and occasionally they do it better. Their puck homage has a lumed seconds hand whereas the Steeldive does not. I do like both brands though
The less you need to be in contact with customer support, the better the quality control is out of the factory. When buying from Ali Express I never want to hassle with customer support.
You forget comparing the hands. Actually they're different 'cause the Addie has flat hands and the Steeldive has folded hands and show three sides. I noticed the second hand is different too.

I think you're right. The zero on the bezels are different. The Steeldive zero is rounder. The two and zeros are a bit squished on the Addiesdive in comparison.
I have both. I agree that the Steeldive band clasp is better than the Addiesdive. Otherwise to me they are the same I would recommend either. I also have an another Addiesdive model that I wear everyday. It loses a minute or so every couple of days. Not a deal breaker but a bit disappointing.
A minute every couple of days, that's actually a lot.. Try regulating it. There are plenty of videos on how to do it. All you need is just a case opener and a small flat screwdriver
I have owned the Steeldive for about 3 years and it's a fantastic watch...and a STEAL for the money. However, I recently purchased a TANDORIO (panda color scheme with black ceramic bezel and white dial, white chapter ring) w/out LOGO for only US$62. The watch specs are the same as with the SD1970. The SD1970 has superior lume, but this is also due to the black color scheme chosen with the Tandorio (black applied markers on white dial). The Tandorio has a lumed PIP on the bezel, which is a plus. The SD has superior packaging, but it's also US$55 more expensive. Frankly, the TANDORIO with NOLOGO, plus a modding w/chrome SEIKO applied LOGO (+$6)...is a no brainer purchase.
I had a tandorio skx and it drowned while rinsing it under a tap. Everything was tight and screwed down. Worst watch ive ever had. Kept great time but not even splashproof
@@DM-0072 Wow. Probably a crimped housing gasket. Never had an issue with mine...and I shower with it on...swim with it, etc. Of course, I also treated it with silicone and seated it properly during the modding process.
I had the Steeldive and it's a decent watch for the money but if anyone wants the looks, feel and fit of the Willard then the Rdunae R2X is what you should be going for. It is simply on another level conpared to these. The quality compares well to modern Seiko and the QC exceeds it imo
@@SrJonAnthony I don't have any experience of the San Martin, the Rdunae R2 and R2X are as close as you can get to the originals, closer than Seiko offer now and in their past too.

Did they increase the hands size from a couple of years ago> I find the hands should be thicker and longer, to match the hour markers better. I always find the hands a bit anemic.

Got a blue Steeldive on my wrist right now. After one year of using it still runs +/-3 sec per day and that's perfect.
Yeah, that's really perfect
Mine is newer but same, -3 seconds per day. Excellent watch.

I see some steeldive sd1970 with matte dials, yours looks glossy. Is this a recent update they made?
You're right. Some of them are with different dials. But I didn't see any update announced 😕 Probably they ship it randomly
The Steeldive is $49 USD today. Just picked up the blue version.
😳
I want the steel dive on bracelet for $55 but they are sold out on Aliexpress so it's a no go because I am not a strap wearer.
