Zerk is always more qualitative than others IMO. I like him the most followed by Enticity and Turin. Milk is also doing good.

Have to agree! There are a number of factions I just haven't really spent much time with, which means I don't know their symbols and aren't familiar with their names or who would lead them.
Settra is going to be very perishable surrounded by so many threats and having only skelly rabble at early.
CA told that they would make sure he will be a serious threat
dont forget that War Sphinx that will carry Settras armies early game.
Yeah i think the tomb kings need a rework really badly. Like, double the amount of armies they can raise, and maybe a flat out 8 units of archers cap w/o any buildings or something.

@@hausser0815 they don't need a rework, just some changes. Their mechanics are already super fun and flavorful, they just need a few adjustments to make early game more playable. And make the magic better too

Yep, if they fill that void with random greenskins tribes the real end times will come when grimgor comes down from that mountains. In one of my games it took a triple alliance and attacks from all fronts to stop him lol
Considering Grimgor was a former Chaos Dwarf slave it would be safe to assume that when their dlc releases he will have a much tougher time being surrounded by his former masters.
The way I see it, he’ll be the “Mongol Horde” of this world from the East that everyone will have to contend with.
I don’t think it’s an oversight at all, it’s plausible that CA didn’t like how consistently he dominated the late game and wanted to shake things up by moving him to a less dominating position.

Morathi's is the one I'm most interested to see how the campaign would change for. She now has a potentially ally-able buffer of a Vampire Coast nation between her and Alith Anar, while Slaanesh's champion should be keeping the High Elves preoccupied and not so eager to invade you from the start (especially when that should be what the Dark Elves take the initiative in doing).
Her early units are effectively an anti-large speciality (spears and anti-armour artillery), which means she's much better placed, army-wise, to focus on deterring or even attempting to take on the dinosaurs next door, until finally in a position to take an interest in the High Elves or use her corruption mechanic to pay the Norscans a visit and use some territory up there to generate revenue with.
The really interesting unknown, at this point, would be whether her Cult Of Pleasure has a lore-friendly favourability to allying with Slaaneshi factions and whether her corruption changes, specifically, to something Slaaneshi in nature.
Nahhhh fuck that she needs to be as in the daughters of khaine books a huge as serpent lady with snake warrior monsters at her side melee and greatbow.

If anything, that helmet needs to at least show her ears. She's meant to be so seductively beautiful that it actually causes opponents get a little mesmerised, if memory serves right, but the present model makes her look generic.

From the moment I launched my first Slaanesh RoC campaign and saw that slaaneshi corruption adds 10% income I've been foaming at the mouth to play Morathi in IE. How her chaos corruption interacts with the monogod corruptions is my number 1 question. My suspicion is that she will spread and benefit only from undivided corruption, like chaos warrior minor factions in RoC. But due to her natural alignment with slaanesh, I see it as a real possibility she will play nice with slaaneshi corruption. If so, coop N'kari + morathi, with morathi using change start mod to move to Tor Yvrese (the highest income province the dark elves could own in ME) sounds perfect. Right next door to your slaaneshi coorption spreading ally
That being said, Fellhart being allowed to just swarm the coast of cathay to up his black ark count without ever pushing inland (alliance with snikitch sounds fun), and then sending a bunch of 0 upkeep 19 black dragon stack black arks through the sea lanes to pillage the world for slaves sounds like one of the most ridiculous things I've heard of in a long time. AI cant use sea lane. Meaning all the wars you start on the other side of the sea lanes will be with factions who cannot retaliate.
Skarbrand's going to get his teef kicked in once Wurzag gets his army wide magic attack ability
I feel like anywhere there's space on the map, it's a good indicator of coming DLC. We already know we have 4 more chaos lords to sprinkle between south and north poles, plus chaos dwarfs to populate the Tretch/Grimgor area.

Not hard at all to decide who I'll be playing as first. My favorite faction in the game since WH1. The man, the myth, the legend, Thorgrim. Now with an even easier campaign due to no Grimgor nearby it should make the early game a lot less of a greenskin whack-a-mole headache.
While Thorgrim was my first, Grombrindal is just too tempting for me... especially with all those knife ears about.

Mannfred will be vying for Books of Nagash, along with Volkmar and the Tomb Kings. That will be an interesting campaign now, and a much needed change to the Vampire Counts faction.

I think his start position will be pretty good. Before with the dark elves and norsca near by sometimes forced you to jump ship and move. This position I think will allow him to build taller like he is supposed to.
I might do a Mannfred campaign first. He was the very first faction I achieved a long campaign victory with, and the second faction I played in TW2. The new start location makes me very interested in his campaign again.
His new position looks like it might be an absolute bloodbath, wondering if it’s best to play more defensively and draw out enemies to spam necromancy armies
Helebron and Sigvald is a perfect match. Though Sigi-boy will enjoy their interactions a little bit more.
CA has already confirmed that they're moving Alith Anar and acknowledged how big of a fuck up it was putting him in Karond Kar in the first place.

In terms of location the southern Thunder-dome looks good fun ... though much will depend on any changes to faction campaign mechanics (if any) - if there are any changes to campaign faction mechanics will you (Zerkovich) be covering them ?

I really hope CA will FINALLY fix allies wardeccing on Nakai's (or other player) Vassals without considering that this means they'll have to fight the overlord that they are allied with.

Thank you for zooming in and mentioning the factions. I'll probably play a Chaos faction or Beastmen first. Not sure if Chaos is still a horde or they reworked it to be an actual settling faction.
I almost guarantee a Warriors of Chaos rework coming alongside Immortal Empires. They even accidentally leaked the faction names for the DLC lords alongside the Warriors showcase a few days back.
Plus they also said Belakor will use the new Warriors mechanics in IA

Nurgle starting on an isolated island is 100% a throwback to that mobile game Plague Inc - a game where you pick a country to start a virulent plague and have it spread to the entire world. Madagascar, an isolated nearly uninhabited island, generally was the best starting location for viruses.

In lore Manfred spend a few time wandering in Araby desert. He gathered there info about history of vampires and of course magic knowledge.
Gonna start with Imrik, I recently
finished a ME campaign with him and it was super hard! Think IE will be easier (to begin with anyway). Kugath and Tretch shouldn’t be too difficult, I’ll head eastwards and into the mountains of mourn. I think Mannfred and Grombindral will be good campaigns as well. Can’t wait.

Damn right, plus he’s an absolute beast! One of the strongest lords in the game.
Also Imrik should get trading capability now when you get a harbor/port. In WH2 all the resources in that area were wasted when you couldn't make a trade connection. Big economy boost, I can see him being extremely strong in Immortal Empires.
I really really really really hope morathi is like in the daughters of khaine book with those units included as well as the avatar of khaine that be great and it be perfect now it's the correct time lorewise and if they give her the morph ability from the dragon siblings it would be perfect to swap between her serpent form and human form

Imrik is really fun, if you get the "fix capitals" mod - then his hardcoded capital is changed to Vaul's Anvil, so you have an initiative to conquer Tiranoc and get sea trade routes with everyone, thus have the usual HE budget + dragons. In other words, I've conquered Naggarond at turn 68 playing on Very Hard 😊 highly recommended!
I only ever played the Vampire Counts really.
It's quite interesting to me, that they got thw biggest changes, by splitting Manfred and von Ghorst into different factions and putting them on totally different starting positions.
Cant wait to play this.
I don't know a ton about the lore, so some of these location changes are a bit odd to me like Manfred and the Vampire Coast up near Malekith. But I do kind of like Grimgors new start location, because for the little lore I know, I do remember reading online that he did travel from the bad lands all the way up to the chaos wastes looking for the biggest, baddest, toughest enemy to fight which I believe ended up with him fighting Archaeon. Idk I just find it cool that Grimgor is actually going to get the chance to do that now
Mannfred went down there to seek Nagash’s power for his own use. The vampire coast is to have more variety in naggaroth since rictus left.
@Euthanas_ Agreed, but... he never did build an empire there. He only did that when he got to Drakenhof. So... it's lore accurate, but at the same time, not.
Grimgore also is a black ork, a slave race created by the chaos dwarfs. The chaos dwarf location in lore is extremely close to grimgores now location, which means he's gone back to the mountains for revenge
@@CallioNyx By that logic we’d just be reaping through legendary lords and we’d have several pre Hunter and the Beast Empire Situations. At the End of the Day Sylvania is more important to Vlad and Isabella as Characters then Manfred.

I have to wonder with sea lanes how that will affect emigration campaigns, where you pick up your army and try to fight your way to your preferred start position. Should be interesting.

Would be nice if he could get some minor campaign buffs. He could tp to some remote location, but generally have a really hard time establishing and holding onto to settlement there.
Kinda new to total war so I bought the warhammer 3 total war. This looks insane, might buy the other games for this dlc.
Mannfred down there in the Southlands had me wondering. But then it made sense, since his vicinity with Khemri: he's looking for the Books of Nagash. End Times incoming?

I saw somewhere that Ku’gath captures all the refuse that passes through the Dragon Isles rivers at the mouth so that’s why he’s there
I love that Grimgor has his own faction in totally different place than Empire is. All I need now is Border princes, Estelia and Tilea being playable.
This is going to make my Mannfred and Queek co-op campaign so much more interesting
Oxyotl will expand... Wherever his missions send him. Setting up a sanctum and capstone after taking a random settlement and essentially having a second empire was pretty good in tw2, hopefully it'll be fun here too

Chaos Warriors and Daemons of Chaos:
According to the lore, i think that Valkia the bloody will start in the north of Naggaroth, since she was the one who invaded the Dark Elves during the End of Times. Im 99% sure of this.
Festus will start on Nordland, since its his birthplace and he also invaded the Empire. Very high chance.
I dont know where to place Azazel. He was one of the same tribe as Sigmar but that was long time ago when he was a man.
After becoming a demon he fought Bretonians but Bretonia has enough factions. No idea.
Vilitch the Curseling invaded the Empire in the End of Times but i think that he will be a threat to Cathay. I expect Tzeentch vs Cathay in the new Old World warhammer lore. I think Tzeentch and Eshin Clan fought Cathay during the End of Times.
Chaos Dwarves: Expect at least one Chaos Dwarf faction in Zorn Uzkul and another one in The plais of Zharr.
If we get another Chaos Dwarf faction i would place it between Cathay and Ind.
Ogre Kingdoms: If we get a new faction, i expect 90% Golgfag maneater w it will be placed in The Skull road next to Grimgor. Search "icewind assault" in google. He betrayed Skarsnik during the End of Times in his fight against the Skaven.
Cathay: If we get a new faction... no idea. Cathay lore is "new".
My favorite part of all this has been Settra getting more and more *negligent* neighbors nearby while his spooky scary skeletons get ready to rumb- rattle..

I'm new to TW Warhammer, I picked up the first two games in April so I'm still learning but it seems really weird that Lustria looks empty compared to the Southlands that look absolutely jam packed. I understand there are lore reasons for a lot of these moves but I just hope it's still fun to play as all of the southern factions instead of it being a chore to even survive 20 turns with so many factions and conflicts.

Well, the first faction I'm playing is defenitely Empire, but I think this time I'll give Volkmar a try instead of traditional Karl Franz. Southlands and Far East seem interesting enough, so I think I'm considering Eshin, Ghorst and Greasus.
Lel my boi starting the video with OH SCHEISSE. 10/10 bro, pronunciation wasn't even too bad, the SCH was on point.
Edit: Can't wait to be staring at the loading screen for 5 hours only to end my turn in two minutes. (Because yes I had to install it on an HDD on a slightly older PC, sadlife)
As for Manfred going to nehekhara. I remember in the Vampire Wars trilogy he goes down there by the 2nd book. He has a book of Nagash but he knows that he isn't skilled enough in magic to use it without severe consequences. So he goes to the land of the tomb kings to study, no idea how he does that. The 3rd book basically starts with him barely escaping the tomb kings and going back to Sylvania.
What book do you speak of as ive only read the 40k lore and this sounds way better, are they well written? Where would you recommend to start?
@@magnumstrategies1311 The book is called The Vampire Wars. It's a set of 3 books. The first one was good but the 2 after that didn't top it. A really good book for Warhammer Fantasy is The Rise of Nagash, The Sundering and Legend of Sigmar.

I'm a Khorne boy at heart but I've already played him so much in the chaos realm campaign that I kinda wanna try something new for the release of immortal empires. Perhaps a Horde faction for a change

Ku'Gaths start is right in the runoff path of the entire chaos dwarf Empire, who know what he'll be able to brew with that foul concoction.

Overall I think it's pretty cool and I'm excited.
The only thing I would like is if Cylosta was moved south to Alith Anar's Old position east of Morathi and Alith Anar moved to where Cylostra is on this map. I think this'll help put her focus more on Ulthuan which she's all about and I'm really not about Alith Anar being in Karond Kar. It being his first major conquest sounds a lot cooler as that place is pretty significant to the Dark Elves and still lets Rakarth and Lokhir race for it.
Side note- I also would like it if Teclis moved back to the volcanic islands since Imrik is already in that region and Lustria is looking rather sparse now.
Teclis could have a campaign themed around controlling the many elven towers placed around the Southlands and Lustria.

All those position looks good, excepts maybe scarbrand (there is definitly to many LL lord in the deset) and Ku'gath. i'd love to see, if the map extends with india, some lords present in this area, like tiktaq'to or maybe teclis movve to the island in the "indian ocean", with some reposition in the desert, to give a bit more place for the others LL. And if Kuhath can directly moove with this extension in india, you can put tiktaq'to in the dragon island
Ku'Gath is kind of lore friendly since the Mouth of Ruin, the most polluted river in the world is right next to where he starts so it makes sense why he might be interested in that location
if anyone should be in the spot where all the fighting is happening it should be skarbrand

I'm new to the game, I'm still learning to play, but I really like the green skin and dwarves theme, which lord should I start with or do you think I should play with another faction first?
For the dwarfs, thorek ironbrow, he can have super strong crossbows and his unique mechanic is quite nice (reforge powerful lost artifacts).
for the greenskins, i like wurzag, his savage orcs are super tanky and nice damage dealers (in his army)
You can also try Grombrindal for Dwarfs like I am since he’s new and you can learn with everyone else what’s good.
I think Karaz-a-Karak isn’t a bad choice, Thorgrim was my first dwarf pick in WH2. I vividly remember playing him while I was inebriated and dwarves have this very simple turtle mentality that can be super effective early game lol. That grombrindal start Northwest looks dope too, never played him tho.
As for green skin, grimgor is my first pick and his new start looks cool. Azhag’s start might be good too I don’t know if he has as much expansion room as grimgor but I think those mountains are good protection.
For the dwarves it doesn't matter what lord you pick in my opinion they're all going to do well for you. For the greenskins I'd recommend wurzag he's good fun and very powerful which makes up for the greenskins being a tad weak economically.
Fyi, you need to have the previous in the series Warhammer 1 and Warhammer 2 to play this DLC

Love the changes for the most part. Once WH3 DLCs release it looks like very few (if any) factions will be able to steam roll early.
Idk, empire is in a strong position, as are the von carstiens. And i dont think they will be getting DLC in their lands.
