I don’t know why this made me emotional but it did. I literally started crying 💀 I put so much unnecessary pressure on myself it really takes a toll on my brain. You said exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you.
I feel you. Pretty much every time i procrastinate on something for a long time, when i actually sit down and get to doing it after some time when i realize im going to finish it and i made it a much bigger problem in my head a wave of relief washes over me and i just want to go hug someone i know.
I've been using this guided meditation for about a year now and it's been immensely helpful in helping me managing and working with my urge to procrastinate. Sal's tips like focusing on the process and not the outcome, getting started on your work with a smile, and the timer technique are simple and incredibly effective! I love Sal's focus on the emotional roots of procrastination, and a simpler Pomodoro technique-short timed block of focus; take a five or ten-minute break; repeat until you're done with your task. I found it easier to build a long-term habit of using it than with the standard formulaic 25 minutes Pomodoro, for some reason. I've in fact pared it down to 2 or 5 mins if I'm really struggling with getting started on a task. And I use it to just start - often keeping a silent timer these days. Thank you so much for making this and the other meditation videos, Sal and the Khan Academy team! :)
Thanks, Sal. Organic chemistry is something I enjoy. I have been struggling studying, I watch your videos. 20 minutes doesn't cut it with orgo. I do enjoy it though, it's fascinating. I'm very lucky to be able to pursue science. the problem is distraction. So much interesting stuff to see online. gotta study, thanks
Omggg same especially physics I've been putting it off since day 1 and in a blink of an eye half of the year went by without me doing any of the Physics part
Brilliant... it's about the journey .. How easily we forget. Enjoy the process .. I enjoy action. A lot of the current manifestation philosophies and techniques insist on visualising the outcome, which may also be good for motivation but can also overwhelm I find.
Thank you! This is very helpful and I haven't done any of my schoolwork in the past 3 weeks and I'm failing 5 classes so I'm glad I stumbled upon this video
So,this is my 2nd day of meditation.i don't know if it will work out or not,but i think it’s actually a curious thing to explore about my deeper self.Let's see...
Omg I was literally searching for meditation for students and well. I absolutely love learning Khan academy. I'm from india, and I would really appreciate if y'all could put out content for neet prep
Hi! I agree Khan Academy's meditations and courses are wonderful! While there isn't a neet prep course specifically, the Science Essentials courses from Khan Academy India will likely be relevant! They're focused on deep mastery of concepts and underlying principles, since those are foundational in a variety of contexts one deals with the sciences.
Actually I do the I can do ANYTHING for FIVE minutes. I ALWAYS end up doing the task for atleast an hour sometimes way more. 20 minutes is too long for me to psych myself up.
I'm back :] I've been really struggling with taking action recently and this really, really helps me out. We can do it guys, just don't forget to breathe once in a while
I don’t want to do the work because I am sore and I don’t want to hurt. I really enjoy cleaning my house because I like it better clean I am telling myself now.
i gotchu; basically take deep breaths and take some time to assess your thoughts and why you procrastinate. the example he gives to solve procrastination is to dedicate 20 minutes into something that needs to be done. if you don't accomplish anything, thats okay, if you do, you can take a 5-10 minute break (optional). Repeat until said thing is finished; you don't need to take a break if you don't need to. Put one foot in front of the other.
Thanks for making this video. But this is not a good meditation session, the author talks too much that it is very distracting. It would be much better if you discuss all of these before we start meditating.
Thanks, I’ll watch this later.
lol
I see what you did there 😂😂
😏
Thank you for that 😂
Is this Jon Stewart

Meditation brings out the forgotten emotions I guess
So it's natural to cry when really trying to hear and feel your thoughts you tend to ignore.
These are the kindest words I've heard in a while. Thank you, Sal.
Eh, I'll put this on Watch Later.
this is literally what i did but i forced myself somehow
hope everyone did too
@@hyon2441 same! Just now getting around to it...
