WTF?! Albert Breer could not be more wrong. 1. Patriots should not pay future draft capital plus top WR money for Aiyuk. 2. San Francisco isn't going to trade Aiyuk. Aiyuk has zero leverage on SF. 3. During 2024 season the Patriots should evaluate their young WR's and see what they have. In 2025 the Patriots should have high 1st and 2nd round draft picks, plus huge salary cap room to pick up a number one WR for cash alone. 4. The 2024 Patriot season is for evaluating your players and positioning yourself for top 10 2025 draft picks. 5. Breer says there is no guarantee a top WR will be available in 2025? What? All you need do to see if WR's are going to be available is look at expiring WR contracts for 2025. Does D.J. Metcalf sound familiar Albert Breer? How about Justin Jefferson?
I will be historically angry if they give up a premium pick and then give this guy the bank. They need to forget number one receivers for now. The biggest needs are in the trenches. Period. End of fucking discussion. They can draft receivers, hell, they might already HAVE a number one on the roster. Why not see what you already have? These pics are going to be premium and they need to be used to build an o-line.
No f'in way I'm giving up a ton of draft capital and paying him 30+ a year like he wants...he isn't that guy...wait til next year and sign Higgins instead
A top WR is the last piece you add to the puzzle, it's a luxury piece, a cherry on the cake. You build the cake from the trenches - OL and DL, then the secondary. Adding a high-profile, highly-paid WR puts your young QB in the spotlight and places an unnecessary burden on him way too early in his career. Building up the OL, running game and defense does the exact opposite - it buys your young QB time to develop organically. That's how the Pats developed Brady - he didn't get his luxury pieces at WR until the 2007 season. Only then did the passing game truly become the focal point of the offense.
@@xxiiiaresxxiii3505 You should tell that to the Chiefs because they obviously didn't get that memo. They got rid of T. Hill - a WR who's infinitely better than Aiyuk - and used the cap room to shore up their OL, DL and secondary. Since then they have won 2 SBs with a less than stellar offense.
@@xxiiiaresxxiii3505 They had that same QB before they traded T. Hill away, as well. Yet they didn't win as much. By getting rif of Hill, they changed their entire approach to team-building and playing O. These last two SBs they didn't win because of Mahomes but by playing sound defense and improving their running game, especially improving their quality in the trenches. Their passing game moved to short, quick passing to run of the mill receivers. Basically the exact same recipe that worked for the Patriots for 2 decades in the NFL.
If I'm Elliot Wolf knowing the team we already have it makes no sense to trade your draft capital when those picks will become more valuable to San Francisco than it will New England they don't have a good team on Paper and are in 3-4 year rebuild which only means making this trade only sets the Patriots back even further
What's the rush to win this year? We're not winning the Super Bowl, and I don't want to give up top draft picks for one player. I would rather the Patriots go 0-17 but lose those games by 3 points or less each time than go 7-10.
Saying Josh Allen walked into a good situation his rookie year is objectively false. He wasn’t even supposed to start his rookie year because of how bad the o-line was
He’s not worth top 3 WR money and draft compensation…wait a year and go after Higgins on the over market if you want to overpay someone without giving up draft capital
Until this team has proven the dark days are behind us, I'd be very wary about getting desperate and pulling a Carolina and trading away next year's 1st rounder when the team still sucks.
Why keep talking about this give someone else a chance just go out and get Thomas from New Orleans or just go out and get Toney from the Chiefs and get one in the draft next Thomas is a crafty vet and Toney is explosive who played in cold weather before.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 these guys are 🤡s the 9ers aren’t letting him go! They still have him on his rookie deal, they can still tag him for 3 years. They’re in NO rush to do anything with him! They need to move Debo before resigning him and Purdy!
I understand the need, but let’s not give up the house and have to pay him as a Top 5 WR.
How’s Judon and a 3rd sound
2nd rounder ok, not first

Juju or Tyquan, 2025 2nd round, 2026 4th round, 2027 4th round pick swap ! Thats it!

Not Aiyuk for a #1, because it will be a high first round pick. The patriots can turn that #1 into a lot of picks if they trade down.

He’s better then Higgins. I rather pay him over Higgins
Higgins is overrated. No Chase on this team
He’s much better than Higgins
Yea don't overpay, the rest of the roster would only be set further back
No. You have a WR1 on the roster. Between Boutte, Polk and Baker. Save the early pick yo solidify the left side of the offensive line

Thats the Old Bill way that got him fired that's how you ruin a QB moron
NFL has changed drastically since 2007

@milanmilanov348 yeah they also have the 2nd best QB in nfl history that only devlop3d thanks to Kelce and Hill Qbs need Weapons!

No way they should give up a round 1 pick. A second rounder and something else but doubt they move him for anything less than a #1.

Giving up a potential top 5 pick is absolutely absurd
They're upcoming schedule is death row, that first rd pick is off the table
Watkins was a mistake, they all ready had Kelsey and Hill...
Do we know they can even block yet?

I don't remember Aiyuk doing a thing in the superbowl against KC.
Not Aiyuk fault the oline & Purdy was getting dominated Purdy barely had time.
Judon for Ayuk
who even cares about the Kraft Mayo Brisset Patriots? not me!
Hell NOOOOOOOOOO!
No we don't need him. To much money we trying to build and develop the wr we drafted
Make it happen let's Goooo 💪

5th year option, next year’s tag would be around $22m …after that it would be costly but yes they have the leverage
@@Thatfantasyfootballchick 5th year option is part of the rookie deal low IQer! Thanks for telling me I’m clearly right!
