- On Monday's edition of Felger & Mazz, the guys reacted to the Patriots 16-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Mazz made the point that the Patriots performance on was "eye-opening" and that the unit looked terrific.

Exactly, I wonder how they slept at night.
These guys know nothing. They just put on a show to try to get ratings. They like to be angry and mostly attack all sports in NE. They want to anger fans to call in and pay attention. The tackling was exceptional. The defense looked fast, they were physical, and they were outstanding at flying to the ball to make the tackle and not giving up extra yards.

This is what I hate about sports radio, they come up with their own narratives preseason etc based on no inside knowledge or even rudimentary football knowledge and today they are shocked and pleasantry surprised after listened to themselves all summer saying how bad the team is going to be.

Defense will win the games. How many no clue...They could go 2-0. But no gamechangers on offense to give any confidence they can keep a streak with it.
Douglas is a playmaker just needs the ball in his hands hopefully Jacoby can let it go a bit more next week

The defense this past few years has been awesome, but this past Sunday they were great! Loved seeing them fly around the field and attack the ball! I do think if they want to have a better chance of winning more games for now at least, defense has to take it back to the house once a game too. Offense played as well as they could yesterday, no turnovers, was able to march the ball pretty well and hold onto longer drives, but if the defense had been able to return one of those fumbles for a TD (which isn’t easy) it could be the dagger in a ton of these games.
A good running game helps everyone.

I was impressed how organized and disciplined they were. Thats definitely a good sign. Im not sure how many games they will win but its more important to establish good work ethic

The D Sunday looked like when Flores was the DC. As the young guys on offense grow. This style of defense will hopefully have players all over the league say, hey I'd like to play in that system. It isn't the last 20 years but it is a start.

The play of the oline was the biggest surprise to me. They blocked really well especially run blocking.
Tackling was serious, they build on that. Add another 10 points a game. That equals playoffs. More importantly, they closed the game out given the opportunity .
Interesting how Felger, when the team is losing, refers to "you" and "your team", but when they win refers to "we" and "our team". Take a hike DB, full pack.
Let’s go back to earlier end of year when I told you the patriots were gonna start off winning the first game.

I live in Mississippi. Been a pats fan 19 years. I follow the team and predict them better than these guys. Not that it matters. They’re just over dramatic media. SMH. I didn’t predict a win this week, but wasn’t surprised at all. I also KNEW 9.5 was ridiculous, if I lived in a gambling state, well it would’ve been nice.
This was an amazing win for this team and coach Mayo. This also proves these clowns need to shut their negative mouths and see what happens.
Defense wasn't surprising to anyone who actually watched the games + players over the past 2-3 years. Solid drafts of players like christian gonzalez, along with great signings...would've been a top 5 defense last year if Special Teams + Offense hadn't forced them to overwork in many games.

The Defense was Great last year, they were on the field way too long because of how we were limited on offense. Remember we set a record for losses becoming the first team since 1938 to lose three straight games despite allowing 10 or fewer points in each one. The offense should get better.

No Kraft forced his hand AGAIN with Mac and I think that's when Bill had enough. He wanted to trade Mac after the 22 season and Kraft said no. So Bill basically exposed Mac to the league and showed how bad he was, at the same time gave us the perfect opportunity to draft a stud at qb.

I'm just throwing this out there : the Bengals are 1-13 in the first 2 weeks of the season under zac Taylor. They were 1-12 going into yesterday. They literally DON'T show up the first 2 weeks of the season. I'm not trying to take anything away from the patriots, but cincinnati had REAL problems in September. Real problems, and they go back years.
After the way these three painted the picture over the Summer, the fact that the Pats found the stadium was a moral victory.
Bengals do start bad in the first week but if you’re the patriots you take advantage of that and they did! It would be more concerning if they lost but the patriots took care of them as any good team or decent team should

This is a bad take. You would've thought that the Bengals had already won the game on Friday the way some people were talking. It was about how bad the pats were, even if Cincinnati started slow a lot of people expected us to lose this game. This was all about the Pats! It's not our fault that Bengals coaches couldn't get their team ready to play.
ALL of these post game reviews and no one talking about how the offense only put up 10 points on the Bengals trash defense. If our offense only scores 10 points each in the next 16 games we'll finish with a worse record than last year.
