    Great review!! I only pumped once a day for a period of 2 weeks for my newborn twins, I give big props to the moms who pump at work for months and months, so much work, but totally worth it!

      Definitely! I haven't had to do too much pumping away from places that would be a bit more conducive to privacy, but this pump is a great option for those mums who just need to keep going, working, or doing everything while continuing to pump. This innovation is such a great option!

    So the hole to connect the tubing and the hole to pour out milk are 2 different holes right? If yes, when you pour the milk out. Does it leak into the other hole?

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Evelyn! The hole to connect tubing and the pouring spout are two different holes, yes. When you are pouring it out, you should probably remove the tubing first. I don’t recall seeing milk go out the tubing hole when I used this pump, so that would be a great question to ask the Freemie team. It is a closed system, so there is a barrier to prevent milk from going into the tube while you pump as well as the harder shell that sections it off from what I remember when I used this pump.
      I’ve included the link to the blog post here where I’ve taken quite a few photos of the pump, both assembled and disassembled

      No they are separate holes. No issue. But remove the tubing before pouring.

    what settings do you suggest for let down and then for increasing supply? and also to maximize how much you pump? I am confused on when to use what settings. Thanks.

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I've never had to increase supply, I have just used the quicker speed (with lower suction) as I wait for letdown, and increase the suction and lower the speed when my letdown occurs (sort of how some pumps do in two stages). I'm not sure of the recommended settings as people may find different ones work for them.
      If you get in touch with Freemie, they may be able to make some suggestions a bit more specifically to suit you :)

    I hear you can sleep with these on...is this true? I would give anything to not have to totally wake up at night! Thanks

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not exactly true in the way they’re making it sound like you can just keep sleeping or laying in bed. You can slightly recline while wearing the Freemie, but you cannot lay down. You could doze off in a rocking chair and set the timer to stop pumping (as they depict in photos). This is what they’re referring to when they say you can sleep with it on. It is pretty easy to continue about your day with the Freemie, though, but no pump can work while laying in bed just yet unfortunately!

      I saw someone in a fb thread say that they sleep in them lying on their side with the tube holes pointing up toward their armpit. I’m interested to try!

    Can you use those same freemie cups on a medela lactina while I’m at home and use the cups with the liberty while on the go? Or do you need a separate set of cups?

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hannah, I'm not sure if they are the same as the collection cups sold separately which do work with compatible pumps. I believe the information for that would be on their website, or you could email or message them to ask if your pump is compatible should you wish to use your pump with the cups as well as the Freemie Liberty motor.

    Hi do you happen to know what’s the difference between liberty and independence Freemie ?

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, you can find the information on the differences here: freemiepumping.com/2018/08/22/freemie-liberty-vs-independence-pumps/
      I believe the Independence is also the one that are more likely to be covered at least partly by insurance as well (but I’m not entirely sure about that).

    How is the suction on the pump? How well does it empty the breast as I saw mixed reviews on this part of the pump.

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Syrhonda, the only times I’ve had issues with it being able to properly empty the breast was when overly engorged. Otherwise, I haven’t had issues with this part of the pump. I know everyone’s Experiences can vary. The suction on the pump is 280 mm hg.
      I have also heard others with issues of it not being able to empty them as well as other pumps, but that could possibly come down to ensuring you get the proper shield size (if possible) and making sure the pump is correctly positioned. They do also offer “fitme” shields which I believe are soft and may encourage better milk flow. Freemie may also be able to offer advice on how to get the best suction on the pump as well.

    Is the suction good? How would you compare the suction to the suction of a Pump in Style Advanced?

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The suction is great, and adjustable! In comparison to the pump in style, I cannot say as I haven't tried it before. And I've answered your other questions on the blog :)

    • @christinegalarza3876
      @christinegalarza3876 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the exact same question!! How well is it compared to the pump in style?

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry I just saw this question! I don't have the pump in style so I really cannot compare those two. It did decently though compared with the Medela swing I've had for a while, but that's probably the closest comparison. I have heard people saying recently that it doesn't seem to empty them as easily as other pumps, but I have only had an issue once like this when I was overly engorged.

    Omg is that big silicon piece like a backflow protector??? Because my older freemies back up into the tube a lot.

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this one has a backflow protector! They've improved upon the original design in that way!

    • @yasminemahon7715
      @yasminemahon7715 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is AMAZING! I love their cups but I have had issues with milk backing up into the tubes, so I hooked up some spectra back flow protectors to them.

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I've seen people do that with the older model! I haven't had an issue with milk in the tubing so far, and I honestly can't believe how quiet it is!

    Are you only able to pump one side at a time with the Liberty model?

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can pump either one or both sides with the Liberty pump. There is a plug on the tubing which allows you to have the suction only going to one side, or if you leave it with both tubes attached, you pump both sides at the same time.

    How often do you have to charge the battery?

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe I got about 2-3 hours use out of the battery once charged. I got a few pumping sessions before I would need to recharge. I haven't used it in a while, so I'm trying to go by what I remember.

    I just got this pump and it’s only sucking and not releasing , I’m not sure if it’s because I using the freemie freedom tubing or because it’s not functioning properly

    How do you program the memory setting ?

    • @bubsessed8621
      @bubsessed8621  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delay! The manual for the freemie is here: freemiepumping.files.wordpress.com/2018/02/freemie-liberty-independence-pumps-user-manual_fg066_fg076_fg077.pdf
      "Multi-Mode Memory: To program your current suction and speed setting into one of the memory buttons, press and hold one of the multimode memory buttons (labeled 1, 2 or 3 on the pump) and hold for at least 3 seconds. The Liberty’s LCD display will display the memory button that was programmed. These settings can be recalled by pressing and quickly releasing the memory button. Indicator lights will appear above the memory button selected"
      So basically get the pump to your preferred suction level and speed and then hold down the number you wish to have set for that memory for 3 seconds. I usually did my pre-letdown setting as "1" faster speed and softer suction...and my setting once milk was flowing as "2" slower speed and stronger suction. I used "3" as my setting if I chose to use just one cup for the setting after milk was flowing. I hope this helps!
