Pheasant Hunting South Dakota | Solo Public Land Roosters!

On my last day in South Dakota I headed out for a morning of pheasant hunting on some public land that had perfect habitat for the dogs to work. We saw some deer and ducks, got to explore a new area, and kicked up quite a few pheasants while doing it! I had to make the most of the opportunities I got but with the help of Rue and Leroy I was able to knock down a limit of roosters in just under an hour! Hope you enjoy!

How do u know if they are rosters

The colorful ones are roosters and make a cackling sound as they fly. Hens are brown colored

The bright colors and long tail are the main giveaways visually. Like Dakota said they often make a cackle when they jump too
