I bet domestic drug smuggling happens more often than you think with airplanes. Easy way to maintain an expensive hobby
Props to the reporter for correctly calling it a Piper Cherokee and not saying it was a Cessna. :)
🤦🏽who cares
Well, she was looking right at it and read the letters on the side of the plane. "Piper Cherokee." I'm not impressed.
Pilot license revoked for life. Silly Rabbit..
Near that little municipal airport……..may need to look hard there
Usually the area businesses have at least one on the take.. It will go on for decades, they will get rich while the honest people struggle.
Merrikka the joke.
"pilots license and registration... do you know why I pulled you down today?"😮
Looks like Cheech and Chong are going to miss the “Battle of the Bands”…. 😂
No more selling drugs from a Photo Matt😂
Nice Piper, wonder when it’ll go up for sale.
isn't that illegal search and seizure? did he give permission to search? whata dope....lol
@@davidwright873 after an emergency landing they do drug/alcohol tests on the pilots and have to look at the plane's cargo, i think that is standard procedure when the plane didn't explode or something...
@@sibhuskyguy hm....good to know...I guess landing on a hwy is a bit over the top....and should be looked into...
Its a rental from ksee
@@davidwright873 Educate yourself and hurry back to delete your uninformed comment. You're always the victim, right?
Bye bye all the pilot's ratings and certificates.... the FAA considers this one of the worst offense i.e transport of narcotics with knowledge.
IF these people had any credentials to start with. Big IF!
@@crookeddonald4761they did. They had to in order to rent it.
The guy is in custody for smuggling narcotics, I think his certifications are the least of his worries right now lol
@@robertl955 Newsom wants him released immediately and free of all charges.
Right?
*_"And here's some money for your bike kid" ...._** hahaha LOL*
Someone is going to buy that plane at a government auction.
Hopefully the buyer is notified of the engine problems.
@@yettimannettii2039 they ran it out of fuel, engine is fine
Cops get first dibs
Most small airports don’t check for drugs, that’s why it’s used so often. There’s no way this is common knowledge in the community and the police don’t know. They just take their kickbacks.
Shame on you boys! It’s so much work and time to get a pilots license. This is big trouble with the FAA
So mind boggling how some will go to great lengths just for drugs only to destroy their life. Love your name and stunning photo.
Yes, also very suspicious when ads-b data shows this flight suddenly appearing over the ocean at 1:30am and immediately making the emergency landing
Sus right? 😂
Whats up with that? Maybe they were at low altitude picking up special packages? Dropping off? Very suspicious flight patterns on Sep 26 through the 23rd. Looks like the plane might be based at Gillespie Field in Santee. Sept 26 they landed at 1:39am after coming from Mesa/Phoenix Arizona. No flight time or arrival time listed. You can see that they went to Arizona and back on the 25th. Earlier on the 25th they went from Santee to Oceanside. The morning of the 25th looks like maybe some flight training with a flight from Santee up to Warner Springs/ Lake Henshaw area and back with some loopty loops. The morning of the 24th was a possible practice run from Gillespie in Santee to some loopty loops and maybe a touch n go over Ramona and back to Gillespie in Santee. On the 23rd involved a quickie afternoon delight from Gillespie in Santee to Hellhole Canyon County Preserve for some loopty loops and back. Maybe these flights involved the same pilot I don't know. Someone definitely needs to maintain their aircraft better. Luckily these drug runners were caught and arrested.
@@yettimannettii2039could they be making air drops during the loops? Could be circling for the right time to drop(with small shute)when their contact is ready to receive.
Cool. Oceanside PD just acquired a new (to them) Piper Cherokee as an asset seizure.
Probably rented through an agency. Can they seize a rental car if used for drug transport?
I saw the scene this morning 4:10 am while heading towards the 5 freeway going to work
You can literally see the airport behind the plane. Why didn't they land there ? It's open 24/7 and unmanned. WTF ?
Looks like a good mile. Maybe they didn't have the altitude. Maybe they just want to risk it. Maybe they could have made it. Who knows ...
Why wouldn't they run away when the plane landed.
LOL they probably are scared they'll probably be safer with the police and then not getting the drugs sold
Maybe they claimed to know nothing.
What kind of narcotics? I wonder where their flight here originated?🤔
Arizona.
@@Dane3804they’re out of Oceanside and plane is hangared in El Cajon
@RaceMentally Yeah it comes back to an LLC out of SD interesting.
@@Dane3804 guy who owns it has it in a club to rent. He wasn’t flying it. Some guy named Troy Smith out of Oceanside rented it for 3 days it looks like.
@RaceMentally OOF...well if the owner had no knowledge of the "activities" hopefully he gets it back.
Really didnt unload the plane before calling the cops?
“They aren’t sending their best”
Curious how that would work, a plane dropped in a street, atc is sending units. Where are they going to unload?
Definitely not their best!😂
Incomprehensible
I guess he'll be flying paper airplanes at Corcoran.
Naw that’s a federal offense. They’ll probably be going to MCC in downtown San Diego.
When I flew narcotics, I ensured the cargo fumes did not enter the cockpit...
Therein lies the error of this flight crew.
😂😂😂
Maybe the pilot got high af?
Drove past this on the way to work today was utterly confused lol
Wow they were trying to form a Network of Drug Distribution in Good Ol Ocean Side..Looks like theres room for business growth..
@@sbfhawk4343
So what else is new.🙄
What type of narcotics ?
Miscalculated his fuel requirement for that long flight from Central America
see its not always the illegal aliens, it be your own too
Oside like a plane is gonna be in our way just another day in the O
Too many lines, bro thought it was the airport.
Good day from tijuana
Cayo Perico
😂😂
We have a small airport in Fallbrook too.😳
I used to eat lunch at that airport.
This is goin on all day everyday
Rolled my sisters car there back when it was a little dirt road.
Thats funny...i thought i rolled your sister there.....back when it was a dirt road...what a coincidence!! lol
@@davidwright873 Beat me to it.
Looks like a leased airplane owned by a small vet owned company. Hope they weren’t involved, and if not, their plan doesn’t get forfeited.
Kudos for landing on the highway in the dead of night.
Is that anywhere near Fallbrook?
Kinda... depending on how you define "near". Not gliding distance for sure.
@@JoshuaTootell I'm a retired highway contractor. I rebuilt a section of highway 76 near Bonsall. I would fly my Cessna 185 down from Central California every week, landing at the Fallbrook Airport. Nice place. That was back in 1990.
it's about 11 miles SW of the Fallbrook airport.
Flying High Again
Horrible. And embarrassing
Hired wrong A&P tech?? Big jail time.
As I read this I’m sitting with the A&P of the plane lol
What were they hauling?
Narcotics
@@yettimannettii2039
What kind?
That covers a lot of territory.
@@JohnMoore-xf5wy Might be different kinds Maybe some fenty and some coke. Some heroin. The reporter might know and you just spammed that 3 times.
You cant park there Mr Head
Who were the narcos?
Their lawyers would tell them to say they didn't pack the bags themselves.
To late for that. He had coke on him and started to thorw the bag in front of the bag in front of the police
That plane is WAY too small to not know what is inside it. You need to do a weight and balance for every flight...so you have to know what is in there for that reason alone.
How many drug commercials were shown during this newscast? 6-7?
Wonder if they were doing a little snortin' and flyin' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow
Yeah, they messed up 100 things I could’ve done differently and better and they didn’t do any of those things😂
Haven't I seen this movie before...
*surprised Pikachu face* the pilot and the passenger
And just 1 mile from an airport. 🙁
Guess the needed to calculate fuel a little better…
Just say no to drugs
Flight originated from Mesa-Falcon Field, AZ (MSC/KFFZ)
SEE actually. They rent it from there.
Actually they flew from Oceanside earlier in the day.
Oh come on, who hasn’t flown some drugs
Terrible journalism!
She was sweet on the eyes and ears though...😊
I don't see anything wrong with the reporting. What's the issue here? Upset they don't have clairvoyance to know why this happened? Upset that the reporter isn't a pilot qualified to fly the Piper? What's the problem?
@@JoshuaTootell Just because he took a journalism course at some junior college shouldn't mean you can be a critic.
Little regional airports just really make me nervous. They're just everywhere and god only knows what's coming in and out of these airports. Maybe there should be more TSA checks for these pilots and knowing what they're doing. I don't really know why bigger airports are the only places checked.
We should have the government search your car everytime you drive as well. Narcotics and human trafficking by car is much more prevalent than by plane.
better yet, We should have the government search our persons every-time we leave our home.... Or just keep the ones doing this out of our country, at least try.
Personal use they should be released. Pounds is trafficking but personal use is not a real excuse
😮
came from mexico?
The plane was between Oceanside, Santee and Mesa/Phoenix Arizona from the 26th to the 23rd.

Some good crystal meth down that way...wonder if it was why didn't they just run away with it...😅
No comment on the drugs probably a pound or two of weed. They'll take his plane cost him 100 times more then what he had since he's a.man he will serve time. Ol goof Ole freedom of usa.
It was A Kilo of coke
Bet they ran out of fuel 😊
It was a Hunter drug run……!
Que Tom Cruise on a bicycle.
OMG😮
Air America
It's a small enough airport. One drug sniffing dog patrolling every plane on the tarmac. Sooner or later it passes by everything, and any sketchy behavior observed after the dog passes would be probable cause. ( People wait until dog passes, suddenly starts loading bags while watching dog to assure it's location. )
Do you have any idea how many small airports like this are around? 😂
The big fishes live here in home , on richest neighborhood.-
He was just moving a few Keys from Mexico to the distributors 🤣
Police will work very high.... Now...
Make an example of them: Life in prison with no eligibility for parole. Post their story at all small airports to deter others from the consequences of breaking Federal Narcotics Laws. These are the kind of guys that are willing to destroy our children's lives for them to make money.
