In my, of course, unbiased opinion this is the best debute among the guys, and that is saying something given how much I truly love Indigo and Jack in the Box. People were floored when they saw JHope's More. It was surprising in a way but also so on brand for JHope. Jimin, well. He has been painted as this polite, funny, and charming guy and I believe those are all true, but he has a soul of an artist. People are thrown off by the auto-tune which is used as an effect to show his inner dialog and opinions from others that have caged him. His response to these things is his singing/rapping voice in a register many have not experienced. I can't think of many that have taken so much hatred. It is now his time to shine and be fully and authentically himself. I am so excited for the album and his live performance on Jimmy Fallon's show. Thanks for checking this out.

Jimin said he was going through a period of feeling a bit lost & depressed when he came to this theme. If you ever saw their 2022 Festa dinner where they told everyone they were going on a hiatus to do solo work (they didn't admit it until later part of it was so they could each fulfill their mandatory military service) I think he was crying and saying he couldn't see himself as a solo act. Easy to understand after the intensity of the last 10 years of being with his mates all the time, it would be a difficult transition to being alone. He's also - like all of BTS - come up against a lot of disrespect & haters over the last 10 years. Hope everybody's support for this performance & his album drop this week will help him see there's often light on the other side of change.

Jimin’s use of auto tune is stylistic (we all know that)! If you know anything about Jimin and his history, you will know it fits perfectly!!!! 😊 a
And it’s not the whole song…it’s not even half of the song, like the haters are saying! The first two phrases are him rap-singing in a very low register- it’s not auto tuned (probably has a bit of layering of his own voice).
It’s not until the first “I never stop” that he uses auto tune (you can tell right away when it ‘kicks in’). And then it’s used as conversation: him trying to be free (verses and chorus in his OWN VOICE) and the angry him (in auto tune) - angry at 10 years of dealing with relentless haters and the effect it’s had on his self-esteem/confidence and resulting negative self-talk) - Brilliantly effective!!!
In the end, he sets himself free, thus emerging in the white clothing as a freed Jimin.
You really need to watch the making of this video. He was depressed thus the reason for this song. That's a German poem on his chest

FINALLY... REACTORS WHO ACTUALLY GET IT. Thank you, guys, for coming into this with a bit of research and an open mind. Jeez. You would think that's obvious, but apparently not. I loved your reactions, facial expressions, and the references you made to the music production choices like autotune, etc. We've had to explain that to a billion reactors and more than a few haters in the comments of their reaction videos who were mad coz they either "expected" something different to this from Jimin, and threw tantrums because Jimin dared to make the music HE wants to make, instead, OR some were mad coz Jimin annihilated this solo period already and his album hasn't even dropped. People are suddenly feeling insecure and threatened as if they didn't know JIMIN is the verified KING of KPOP... Anyway, Great reaction guys.

I think the dancers in black could represent the doubts, fears and lack of confidence that he suffered at the start. And the autotune voice represents that angry, frustrated inner voice.

I think this is directed inward. He used to be weighed down by trying to be manly enough, good enough, worrying about what others thought and was crazy hard on himself. So happy that he’s at peace and comfortable with who he is. He’s such a beautiful artist. 💜

The songs that he performed at his record breaking and history making Lollapalooza??? He sampled Wu Tang Clan's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" and then listed them as co-writers on his song "What If". Did you react to that concert? His first album "Jack in the Box", (speaking of outside the box), and the first half of the performance was much darker for J-Hope.
