  • COR-TEN steel -sometimes written without the hyphen as corten steel is a group of steel alloys which were developed to eliminate the need for painting and form a stable rust-like appearance if exposed to the weather for several years. We show you how to make this happen much faster!

    I’m planning to use corten steel for my exterior pizza ovens and fire pits. Will the rust "leak" with rain and stain the floor underneath? If so, for how long before it sets and be no longer runny? A fee months? A few years?

    Great video! Do you have an estimate for how many SF this ~2 cup mixture would cover?

    Any suggestions on a sealer to prevent the patina from rusting further?

      Once the outer skin rusts this type of steel will not continue to rust. You can seal it to help keep it from staining the ground surface after substantial patina

    hi am confused , can you tell that simple steel after rusting becomes Corten???

    • @Eichenlaub
      @Eichenlaub  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, corten is a special type of steel that will rust on the surface but never “rust away” so it gets a desirable patina to it without rusting out like regular steel, this just gets the patina faster than simply leaving it outside to patina on its own. Or if using inside
