3rd season of Rome would be better than all of Netflix trash made in few years.
RIP Ray Stevenson, a warm and talented actor who played one of the best characters in history. Tito Pullo show us the pillars of the western culture throw the life of a regular roman citizen and a soldier of the legion THIRTEEN!
Oh man he really died a few days ago. I guess that's the final nail in the coffin for a Rome movie or third season.
It's a shame. The movie almost happened. Another golden opportunity missed.
I just realized he plays the badass Isaak Sirko on Dexter. What an amazing and talented actor we lost with him
I watched the first 12 episodes in one day, without stopping. I've never done that with any TV show, ever.
That is impressive. Leave it a few months and then watch it again, episodically, hopefully with your partner/friend. There's so much to enjoy. And best of all, phrases and sayings from 'Rome' will enter your shared language. e.g. after a particularly bad mistake/fuck up, I always say "..and we shall never speak of this again".

That's what was so genius about the production... the script. Great shows need great words and great actors, this show had BOTH.
@@tiffsaver Have you started to use quotes from 'Rome' in your daily and do you have someone with whom you can share this private joke? "Nothing escapes me. If a pigeon shall die on the Aventine, I shall know of it", says my wife if I try to sneak something by her - or vice versa.

Such an underrated show. Miss young Octavian. Wish the show would have slowed down and went 4-6 seasons. Everyone acted great with the exception of Cleopatra IMHO.

This show would’ve been impossible to make this good today.
Pullo: "I have simpler tastes. I like to kill my enemies, take their gold and enjoy their women. That’s it. Why tie yourself to one? Where’s the flavor? Where’s the joy?"
They would have wokified it by casting some black person as the main lead as a Roman centurion. And we would have been expected to not say anything about that.
I cant get over the fact that the show was discontinued. The amount of rubbish they produce, and they couldn't get the funding for such a tremendous series
Agree wholeheartedly. I think the fact that the entire set burnt down also had something to do with the cancelllation.

What a fantastic show, I'd consider it one of the best of all time, along with titans like The Wire and Sopranos etc.

Most historians believe the idea that Cleopatra was a 10 in terms of physical beauty was a myth. Coins and art of her displayed a large nose.
Weren't large noses desired in Rome? If anything, the large nose would have made her more attractive to Romans. @buddhastl7120
Season 1 was brilliant. Unfortunately the casting of season 2 ruined the show. Octavian and Agrippa were cast with too young of actors. No charisma or style.
Adult Octavian was great. Agrippa just wasn't given much to do and could have been played by anyone.
I disagree the casting is not to blame HBO is. They canceled in the middle of writing for the season this without question ruined everything…they always do this crap…..I would list all of the good shows they cancelled prematurely or just flat out screw up but I don’t have enough time to type all😤😅
So much effort for such bad writing, imagine doing all this work for what is essentially a Spanish soap opera.
I would’ve done anything to have the five seasons like they originally planned I watched it all in a day I haven’t done that with any other series. I was so pissed and sad they ended it after 2.
Unless you had a ton of money there was nothing that could be done.
