    @Amanda, against all the odds you were able to get out of The Order. As a woman, I admire your strength, tenacity, personality, beauty, and not being afraid to reach back to help others leave. You're an amazing young woman!!

    The more I learn about you the more impressed I am at how strong and wonderful you are. You have come so far since you first episode of escaping polygamy and it’s been incredibly humbling to see someone so committed to making their own life better simply by helping other people. You are an amazing person and are truly making a difference getting this information out.

    When I was in high school there was a family with 3 autistic children… the first son has Asperger’s, then the next two sons were non- verbal, very severely autistic. Once you have one child with autism your chances of having more is way higher, inbreeding or not.

      A lot of people find out they might have it when their kids are diagnosed. A co-worker in his 50s was diagnosed because his nephew was and he went oh that's why

      @@nickywal Yes, exactly - two of my kids have been diagnosed with ASD, and one has ADHD as well. I realized my mom has ADHD because of that. It's not in the movie, but in the book "the big short", the guy who read through all the mortgages and predicted the housing market collapse was diagnosed with Asperger's (no longer used in the US)/ASD right after his son was. There's definitely a genetic component. Once you have one autistic child, your chances of the next child being diagnosed are supposedly about 25%

      Autism isn't always such a deficit, I believe they all have the HUGE talent, the hard part is finding where the talent is. Like in the movie Rainman his talent was numbers, I've seen a little girl who could write music @the age of 3 playing the piano at 2 & violin at 4. They call it savant I call it a blessing😘😉

    And another issue with marrying and having children with close relatives...the more the incest continues generation after generation, the higher the likelihood of genetic disease because the higher the likelihood that children born will be carriers for something. With each generation, that likelihood gets higher and then those people come together and produce more babies...it gets worse with each generation.

    • @nickywal
      @nickywal 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's an issue we've been dealing with in the UK, the Pakistani community does a lot of cousin marriages and has a very high rate of severe intellectual disabilities. They're being offered genetic counselling, I guess basically what the order is doing. A lot are taking it

    • @emilybarclay8831
      @emilybarclay8831 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, that’s why the order has had to resort to blood tests and baby cemeteries. And also why so many men in this newer generation are completely infertile. Any X linked condition naturally affects men more often and more severely than women, so all this inbreeding is going to start affecting their precious men sooner than later

    • @jcg03002
      @jcg03002 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nickywal I work for a Medicaid plan in the US, and once had to work on a case where a Pakistani couple who were first cousins had a baby with uncontrolled blood sugars - multiple hospitals couldn't help, and they had to send the baby out of state for a 98% pancreatectomy (removal of most of the pancreas). Pakistan apparently has the highest consanguineous marriage rate in the world. I now believe cousin marriage should be illegal.
      We also see this in Boston/Somerville, MA, where large families from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, etc. come to stay for a year for treatment for various genetic disorders because of cousin marriage. They pay a lot of money to the big hospital systems in cash. It's one way hospitals stay in business, which is kind of disturbing.

    No, you got the inbreeding stuff absolutely right...when two living beings...people dogs, cats, horses.......have the same recessive genes and those genes by chance happen to pair up in an offspring of the two, that is what makes the illness develop in that offspring, if only one has the gene the offspring can be a carrier but will never develop the illness. I study genetics via breeding poultry. We somewhat use this to make recessive genes we want to come forward, to come forward...like maybe a color that is recessive.

      Also here is a very inbred family in appalachia today...you can see clearly the disability in alot of them. All due to inbreeding. Most are low IQ, several have eyes that are headed off in different directions and one of the men got it BAD, he can't talk and only grunts and yelps to communicate. The one halfway normal one has been saddled with caring for the rest her entire life...She got lucky and escaped the worst of the recessive genes. Hey order members....these are your kids in not too long...enjoy!

    A lot of people have a huge false sense of entitlement, even with people who aren’t public figures.
    I have an Assistance/Service Dog in Training and whenever I say that’s his job and that’s why they can’t pet him I get questions like “What does he assist you with?”, “Why do you need an Assistance Dog?”, “What’s your disability, you don’t look disabled?”, etc.
    At first I didn’t know what to say but now I’m just shutting them down with “I have PTSD from growing up with a lifetime of domestic violence and I have a broken spine from a guy in a semi rear ending my car on purpose.”, this usually shuts them up and makes them move on real quick.
    I’m done with nosey people who have no right to ask questions like that.
    So I honestly think that this person saying that you owe explanations to people because you’re a public figure, is just an entitled asshole.
    I’m new to your channel but I really enjoy your videos and it’s very informative and educational, there needs to be more of this content shown because outsiders just don’t understand what it’s like or what actually happens in families and cults like The Order 👌🏽
    Have a great Halloween! 🫶🏼

      Your response is exactly what I used to do when people asked when I was going to have a baby. “I’m infertile.” Then people would get real quiet and embarrassed. No one’s entitled to anyone else’s story but I decided I’m going to make the other person the uncomfortable one.

      I have a visible disability myself. People act so entitled to your medical history it's not even funny. It gets to the point that I just tell people unless me giving you this information improves my quality of life, you're not getting it. I've had my disability from birth and it never stops with just one question. It's an interrogation. Plus, if you refuse to answer they consider you rude. I am not part of a freak show of old. You can move along now.

      And the thing is I've never seen a kid continue to demand the right to pet service dogs or distract them, it's nearly always adults. You tell kids the dog is a superhero and can't be distracted and they're fine. Adults well a guide dog handler who has only minimal light perception posted a video of an airport worker who did an amazing job guiding her while travelling alone, the amount of people reaching out to distract the dog was terrifying

    If you want to see a drastic example of what might happen with incest look up "Habsburger lip". Habsburger have nothing to do with food. They were a dynasty and therefore a lot of potraits exist, where you can actually see the inherited famous jaw, that became disfunctional at some point. One of the family members was infertil, he was uncontrollably drooling constantly, couldn't really speak and couldn't eat. I don't remember if he had mental problems as well. What a misery his life must have been. All because of marrying in the family.

    You got married on national TV and people are naturally curious about your marriage and also she Lisa's husband said it right that people feel a connection with you. You rightfully so never included your Ex in anything (probably out of respect).
    People can be sad and confused knowing something happened, but not what happened, about such a personal part of your life. It's like if you adopted a dog on the show, then you lost that dog for some reason and didn't want to talk about it, that's OK, a lot of people still are going to be lost over not knowing what happened.
