Hi, your porch is looking great.....I grew up in Michigan and will never forget how exciting it was to welcome Spring. I just need to give you a tip. When you put stones in the bottom of your vessels for creating a home for new plants, if there is no hole or holes in the vessel for the water to drain out of, there can't be drainage. The water will just sit in the vessel and more often then not the plants will drown. Talk to the folks in the garden department at Medards, they are usually well versed.

Another Michigander here! I hope you will be able to spend a lot of time on your porch, it looks lovely. I bought one of the lavender topiaries about 2 weeks ago and it still looks good! I will have to try the concrete repair, we have some areas that need help.🏠
They are my favorite plant ever lol! I may need to find some faux ones so I can keep some up forever. It really helped cosmetically, not sure about structurally lol!

Hi Alissa, thank you!! I'm not sure if it's better, but it the rustoleum glaze is a bit more watery and easier to work with in some cases.
New subscriber here. Your porch looks amazing! I loved your ideas of using unconventional pieces as planters, but, without proper drainage holes, your flowers and plants will drown.

Will you please tell me a good place to get faux flowers? I saw a beautiful peony bunch in a store the other day and they wanted over $40 for it! I thought that was a little ridiculous.
WOW! I got some faux peonies on Amazon that I thought looked nice for an inexpensive price, but I usually get faux flowers from Hobby Lobby when they are on sale.

WAY TO CRITICALLY THINK!
Please be careful on that step. The concrete patch make it look better , but does nothing for the structural stability. My sister stepped on a neighbors step and it failed 20 years go. She broke her ankle in 3 places and has arthritis in it ever since.
That sounds horrible! Yes, this was pretty much just a cosmetic fix for the time being.
Looking at your brick. I know some people think that brick should never be painted. Big mistake. You have a lot of mortar issues that are distracting to look at. The eye is drawn to the problems. Please consider painting the brick on your house with a good exterior flat paint. You will be surprised at how wonderful a house can look when unattractive brick is covered. Be sure to use FLAT paint to hide blemishes and imperfections.
I would actually love to paint our home white one day, but I can't even imagine the cost associated with something like that!
