    After seeing these skaters fall on concrete, I feel like I have nothing to complain about when falling on ice with figure skating.
    BTW, are there any well known clockwise roller skaters out there? In the figure skating world, those of us who are clockwise are pretty rare, so I'm always on the lookout. :)

    Some really awesome jumping there. It's kind of like you scissors the legs like a split jump on the way up then turn the hips and pull in. Lifting the left knee up like a loop does not seem to work well. Timing too is very critical. This is a good visual aid to give skaters an idea of what to do and when to do it.

    The coaches give great instruction and technique but, I also ice skate and the luzt jump looks sometimes like a flip jump when the students perform it but, not when the young man demonstrating the jump at first. I really see what think is a double/triple flip. Please show me the difference. Thank You!

    • @katenguyen4922
      @katenguyen4922 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rafa Lopez in ice skating, the flip jump takes off on the inside edge and the lutz takes off on the outside. If this is not followed (as in the flip takes off on the outside edge, on accident), points would be deducted from the base value of the jump during competition.

    • @emiwyan2832

    • @JustinPageSlayer
      @JustinPageSlayer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@emiwyan2832 Edges work exactly the same for roller skates. The trucks move so that the wheels can point inside or outside, giving an inside or outside edge. OF COURSE!!!! I would suggest getting inlines as opposed to quads though, they'll feel a lot closer to ice skates. If you have an old ice skating boot you don't use anymore, you could totally just buy some inline frames and mount them to your old boot. I would suggest snow white frames, they're nice and feel a lot like ice skates without being as expensive or hard to find as pic frames

    Lo que enseñan los italianos como si fuera una gran técnica, no es Lutz,,no existe el filo externo de despegue de un Lutz y menos la creación de energia que produce un buen filo externo. Incorrectos los aterrizajes, totalmente en Flat y no en externo como debe ser.Un aterrizaje correcto necesita de una buena tecnica de salto ,de elevacion, de rotación, todo esta intrínsecamente unido. Su seudotecnica solo desvirtua la gran belleza de los saltos del patinaje artístico.

    Uhhh… most of these are flips, not lutzes. A lutz takes off with the foot solidly on a OUTSIDE edge. Most of these are either inside edges or flat edges at the time of takeoff. Not sure about roller skating, but on ice, these would only be given credit as flips.

    • @rolaboi
      @rolaboi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you did roller, you would understand how incredibly difficult it is to hit the outside edge on the lutz, and sure, these are 'not perfect' but they are good attempts and in new system on roller, the credit would also be reflected as such.

      @katherinesime8980 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The person teaching it isn't teaching it right. You are never supposed to jump from a flat edge. All jumps have a specific entry edge and a specific exit edge.

      who tf said to you that edge quality is low in artistic roller skating? We got fucking 8 edges, maaaaaaany different spins because of these edges (even heel camels and brokens, a thing ice doesn't have) and besides I really doubt it you ever successfully tried this elements to see if the edges are actually flat. This teaching is wrong, but if you don't have a clue about our sport don't assume rules that you don't know.

      and like i said its my opinion, i didnt say u have to agree with me. from what ive seen from this video and the other ones that have been recommended to me, there were no edges, it was all flat bc of the 4 wheels of the skate shoe. if these ppl (the ones from the vids) used those roller skates with aligned wheels, maybe it would resemble ice skating better. anyways thats what I SAW.

      @@poop-nq2yw I'm not talking about your opinion, I didn't even said anything about ice skating cause prefering one or another is just personal opinion. But it is really disrespecful from someone that probably don't practice it to assume a missinformation like that, we spend months to achieve basic spins cause you can't cheat edges or you will fall, to someone totally random say "oh this doesn't have edges". I also watch ice skating and cheer for some ice skaters, but as an artistic roller skater and a coach, this is the type of mentality why we still don't have visibility besides our efforts.
