q is a magazine show that’s unpredictable in the best sense - proud to be “a wild mix of culture by way of Canada” as described by the New York Times. The Globe & Mail noted the show’s “raging popularity across a variety of platforms -- podcasts, television, websites, satellite radio, terrestrial radio, and occasional live remote broadcasts."

Sarah McLachlan low key is life changing. I have a similar story. My grandmother was dying and I was not ready to deal with the rawness of witnessing it. A voice told me to “listen to Sarah McLachlan “ while I was leaving the nursing home. I’ve never heard voices ever! I thought someone was in the back seat of my car - it was startling. But I listened and played her music . It was so cathartic and comforting and helped me cope and cry and release emotionally. It was a blessing I’m so grateful

I don't know why yet, but this is just amazing. Sarah McLaughlin's music saved DMC from suicide. It's just amazing. And it makes me happy to know this for some reason. No idea why yet. Amazing.

Those who love music understand, great music is great music. Doesn't matter what the Genre, the style, it doesn't matter about anything. Great music is great music and one of the best things about life is when great music takes your soul to a place. my boy needed his soul taken to the living angels... Enter Sarah.

I don't like rap, i like Metal, I don't care, I picked up this man's book in the library in a small town in New Zealand and it really spoke to me. I returned it and just want to say that DMC, I hope it changes other lives the way it changed mine. Keep writing! I want to know more about you!

That's the thing about this story, it's about how music transcends our tastes to do good deeds. Makes me angry at my young self for not seeing the worth in artists that didn't have a sound I liked.

I just finished his book "10 ways not to commit suicide" and I finished it in 1 day. This book was like my biography. I'm no DMC haha but I've been through so much of what he's gone through and feel exactly like he does. The fact that he admits to falling in love and being saved by "Angel" well DMC, you saved my life and I THANK YOU. Your book really really inspired me and I will be reading it again. God bless you for all you've overcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. Suck it, RUN

I found this video because of the all-powerful TH-cam algorithm! My wife and I saw her on the Fumbling Towards Ecstasy anniversary tour last month, so I've been looking at some videos others posted of the show. I lost my only brother to cancer in 1999, and when driving back home after his death, I happened to hear Angel on the radio. That song spoke to me, and continues to do so 25 years later. Her songs, voice, and her philanthropy make her one of the most influential artists in my life. I love that she has had that impact on me, others, and even hip hop artists I followed in high school. It is, indeed, what music is for.

The Mirror Ball Album rescued me as well. I was young and going through my first heartbreak, thinking the world is over. This is before the internet was huge and I had to hand write the lyrics because they put into words of what I was feeling. My mom found these hand written lyrics and it freaked her out. I went through therapy and went on anti depressants over a boy, but that was my world at 18. I am thankful that I now know that I can survive much worse than a silly boy. Thank you Sarah.

Dear god thank you for braving this! My wife laughs at me for occassionally diving back into sarah. Something about the combination of her voice, diving, climbing and gliding over the backdrop of music, that soothes souls; it can be stripped to its basics, with just her and a piano, or filled in with an orchestra, or thrown into some edm festival, it works at all levels. And lyrically, although maybe slightly skewed towards the womanly side, at its core is humanity.
    Thank you for this interview!

Just another bit of proof that something you do that you might consider insignificant, something you do, say, or SING, might be the spark, the change, in another person's life. If you are living right now, YOU ARE HERE FOR A REASON. Don't think for a second that you are not being used to help another.
