1.When Charlotte mistakes the black woman as her friends mother-in-law. 2. Charlotte’s knowledge of black artists when we’ve never seen her talk about any of that before. 3. When Charlotte and Harry have to have a meeting about Rock after being the last people to know that that’s their name now. The school should have contacted them. I wish the media would stop telling parents to stop being parents. (Rant for another day) 4. Mirander and Che…period! 5. The forced diverse cast. They are trying way too hard. Remember Miranda dated a black man (Blair Underwood). Their meeting and relationship was not cringy. It was a natural meeting and relationship. The new characters deserve better. 6. Che is not funny! 7. Mario Canton is now Carrie’s friend?! I could go in but I won’t.
@@meshiawashington5852 Rock’s school costs Harry and Charlotte probably $30k/yr and they don’t need be informed? And where are her children going to Hebrew school? I’m Catholic and know this would be priority number one for a convert like Charlotte. It’s like the writer’s room needs the complete DVD set of SATC.
@@meshiawashington5852 you bring in valid points but instead of onwardly devaluing their story, can we understand where the writers, casts are coming from and what their intentions are? wrt to race, and not that I'm defending them but, could it be that the white upper middle class ++, while they know that POC exists have never understood how their own privilege dehumanised POCs. They are trying to acknowledge their ignorance and make up for it.. should we be judging how they navigate this space??? My take. while trying to make up for ignorance, they are making mistakes (which is natural) and sometimes are forcing things perhaps because they want to feel like they have done the right thing, or perhaps of personal conviction or another reason. Point is navigating this amount of social change, while older is their story, some of it forced in our lenses, but perhaps that's also the struggle they are facing. Instead of cancelling allies for doing it wrong, Perhaps such views should be given spaces so that the next decade can focus on honest progressive conversations🤔
It's like Miranda, who had black colleagues, neighbours, even dated a black man with a doctor's degree AND LIVES IN NY, just found out that black people exist and have university degrees.
I wish they instead just said that Samantha wanted to travel the world because the pandemic reminded her on how short life is and wanted to experience more of the world. Or something like that
The worst part for me is that they destroyed these character’s careers…Why couldn’t they make Miranda start her own law firm focused on fighting criminal law justice and stuff, and Carrie starting her own fashion company or becoming Vogue boss. Instead they made a badass SATC Miranda an insecure 50-year old student and the 90s it girl Carrie an unimportant character in some podcast?!
The most annoying part of the constant "I'm old!!!" dialogue is that the writers think the audience are the ones obsessed with age. The writers are the ones who wrote it in so much that if you based a drinking game on it you'd destroy your liver.
YES, could've gone in a much more empowering direction with the old stuff, cause the greatest part of growing older as a woman is that you dont give a FUCK anymore and u become more content and its amazing. instead its just constant "we're so old" jokes.
@@bernardomello842 i was gonna bring up this EXACT comparison. The Golden Girls were all 55ish (excep Sophia) and had FUN. They literally laughed, cried, dealed with real-life controversial subjects. Hell the GG reruns are exponentially better than this train wreck
the SATC miranda we know also wouldn't be fucking some random non-binary person she just met. They're all just completely different people now and it makes no sense
@@inkeriananas that infuriated me. What are they doing to Steve!!!! This show is cringe to the 1000th degree Remember when Carrie said "you pull over to see the 2 headed snake 🐍" in the baby shower episode? That's why we watch. This is the 2 headed snake
Miranda was a street smart New York attorney. Her interaction in the classroom the first day was ridiculous and not at all Miranda. She is way smarter and aware than that!
They made Miranda unrecognizable. Beside her awkward racial issues, her personality has been written terribly. Miranda in SATC didn’t stumble on her words, didn’t rely on others opinions so much, and didn’t smile so much about feelings. Miranda rarely made poor excuses for the way she acted, she usually stood up for it or apologized harshly. I hate how glossy of a character she is now. Everything is a giggle & a smile. Her pining over Che is unlike Miranda, regardless of her feelings for them. Miranda wouldn’t lose herself like that. Remember when Burger told Miranda “he’s just not into you” & Miranda agreed? She wouldn’t be so attached to this weird relationship with Che.
Thank you!!! They gave Miranda a Charlotte personality and that completely took away her essence. The show was already going to be odd without Kim Cattrall but to add to it by completely messing up Miranda??? Huge fail
And I loved that fact that Miranda represented women that have what society determines to be masculine traits WITHOUT being a Lesbian or Bi, that was so empowering! I could more see Charlotte turning gay, she always seemed to dislike guys apart from the fairytale part, than Miranda. They really did Miranda and Samantha wrong with this writing.
@@ritaamor283 right? There even was an episode in SATC where Miranda's boss sets her up on a blind with a woman because he thinks she's gay. They kissed and Miranda said she was "definitely straight". Not to mention that time Samantha dated Maria and the girls were all very judgemental. Her storyline with Che just doesn't make any sense.
Is anyone ever going to acknowledge that actively altering your friendship circle so that it’s more diverse without actually considering whether you are compatible as people is ridiculous? I think I’d be more offended if I found out someone was hanging around with me just because I was gay.
I was seriously hoping they were gonna show that you can still be sexy and confident in your 50s but instead, they showed what everyone is afraid of, boring, death and sexless 😂 like, why are they making 55 the new 75? 😂
Exactly! I feel like the show is being written by a bunch of 20- or 30-somethings who think this is what life in their 50s will be like. It's insulting.
@@Sailor_Universe I've been binge watching the Golden Girls to get the taste of AJLT out of my mouth and it has more inclusive storylines and less preaching than this. Also, Rose, Blanche, Dorothy, and even Sophia are out there embracing life, not afraid of everything. I am only about ten years away from this age and I hope to be more like the Golden Girls than the characters of AJLT.
Anthony’s reaction was the only acceptable reaction, he told her to just be a kid. Kids change their mind so much. He even said he would be there if it was a real decision. That one was not cringe. The other nine are so horrible it made me want to stop watching the show god the awkwardness from Miranda’s scene
Yes. And the idea that everyone, least of all a middle aged gay man, will magically understand new ideas about gender and accept them with a magical coming out party, is disingenuous. If nobody says or does anything imperfect there is no tension, no drama.
@@kristinamontes6092and also in his character. He used to always tell raw thoughts right out of his mind even if it would upset someone, he didn't care. And going outside the room where Rose/Rock was is considerate enough.
Che and miranda are what I hate about this show. Miranda cheating on Steve and acting like it doesn't matter just going around acting normal after the whole steve had a 1 night stand that she couldn't get over for so long
What was NOT cringeworthy was Anthony's advice that Charlotte give her daughter time to figure out her "not feeling like a girl." "Right now, she's just a little sourdough starter ... who knows what she's going to grow into!?" AMEN!
I agree! Everyone is in such a hurry to “figure it/them out”, just let time do its thing. I thought Anthony was the only character that remained true to the SATC series. Miranda’s “I’m in a rom-com” while she’s chasing Che to Jersey or wherever. She gave Carrie HELL when Carrie was thinking of moving to Paris with the Russian. Then to top it off, they left us hanging with the whole Miranda going to Jersey trip.
Oh don't get me started. They're so woke they're afraid to mention his name. He's innocent until proven guilty. Why can't they differentiate between the actual man and the actor who is saying the made up written lines?
I thought that’s just one of the reactions of grief. That was my understanding. She’s not ready to really deal with it so that’s why she keeps him in a box. However, I do feel they pushed it a bit much since she started to date right after his death.
@@shygal117, yeah, Miranda mentions it at the funeral. That it wasn't ok not to show anything. Still, I don't understand why people in America always think there's only one way to react to things.
Oh don’t get me wrong, I know sometimes no reaction is a reaction. The fact that she sold the apartment and kept working seemed cold and to me it didn’t capture her love for her soul mate. Not to mention like someone mentioned she also agreed to go on a date.
exactly!!!! In the original series there were so many ppl from lgbt community, and they were so different! Each with a particular story and interesting personality!
That's what I don't get about writers, they want us to see LGBT as regular people (because they are) but they make them so over the top and wonder why it rubs people the wrong way
I have never seen SATC, but my wife was watching this show in the living room and I caught some of that stand-up. I could not _believe_ that someone wrote, filmed, and produced that scene. I needed to know that I wasn’t alone in being mortified by it. Thank you, Ms. Mojo.
I HATED the ending of Steve and Miranda. Like they gave us this awesome love story spanning years for the two of them , then they have a 2 minute divorce conversation and we're done? Made me sick. Miranda shit is the worst part of the new show
The last episode from the series when miranda is bathing Steve’s mother. Miranda becoming a more thoughfull person was beautiful. They ended in such a beautiful way! But this ending was a trainwreck. Sorry english is not my first language!
@@nmmarquesm yes I agree! The series finale tied up their romance beautifully. After the divorce episode I've officially stopped watching and will pretend none of this new stuff ever happened.
That's because it's not trendy to have a heterosexual cis-woman who is happily married to a heterosexual cis-man. Catering to the idiotic woke-community has destroyed the whole SaTC franchise. I have nothing against non-binary or LGTBQ+ people or any other minority. But this pandering that's going on these days is just too much.
The main issue with this whole reboot isn't only how woke it's trying to be. It's that it feels like they deserted the main characters on a remote island for 15 years with no access to the rest of the world, and then deposited them back into NYC. These people are acting like they missed ALL the developments of the last decade, in spite of the fact that they have been living in a MAJOR city the whole time. As an example, Miranda and Charlotte (in their own ways) act like they've never seen a Black person in their lives.
Yes, that's exactly it! AJLT reminds me of the Brady Bunch movie, where it was the 1990s and they were acting like it was still the 1970s. And Miranda was always the calculated one--the one who weighed options before diving in. I'd see Carrie having an affair on Big way before I could see Miranda cheating on Steve. Miranda was never flighty like that. She had so many flaws, but disloyalty wasn't one of them.
That Samantha explanation was just SO awful. Who says “She’s no longer with us” without meaning the person is dead? Wouldn’t they just say “She moved to London”? I get that they were trying to give us a “gasp” moment, but the truth is, the character really should have died. It would make sense. Her cancer came back and she didn’t survive. That was just weird. And the idea that Samantha would just up and move to another continent over a money issue with Carrie makes 0 sense. I could have sworn that Samantha did Carrie’s PR for free. Now, not only was it not free but she cut her off completely over a money issue? I hate this show.
@@klarawinterain6101 I am almost positive Ms Catrall is unbothered, lol. She wanted nothing to do with this 💩show and I’m sure seeing how it turned out is a reminder that she made a wise decision. That 2nd movie was just embarrassing to me as a diehard fan, I can imagine what it must be like for her, who actually respects the character she played all those years. I wonder what humiliation they would have put her through on this series.
Technically, Samantha "charged" Carrie something like: 'a drink and a lunch' to do her PR for her book cover, lol, so, yes.. For FREE. It's absurd that suddenly she was paying for PR.🤦♀️ And Kim liked a tweet that called this show 'trashy', lulz!
Everything post-series is so unrealistic tbh. Every satc installment has a different mood from the show and it feels like everything takes place in a completely different universe. I honestly hate it.
Yeah. It’s ok to have a show represent only a small part of society so long as that’s the intention. Also, shows about groups of rich while men almost never receive the same kind of criticism.
@@desmanatome2865 What are you even watching dear? First of all, there is no ''unquestioned assumption'' that women are old at 50 anymore, get on with the times! The world doesn't decide anything cause it doesn't give a crap! My parents are 50+ and noone thinks they are old, neither do they! Secondly, if there were this assumption you're talking about - the show doesn't ''break down'' but rather REINFORCES it with their constant ''I'm old'' shtick! Are you a paid bot or something? Their worlds are changing? Sure, but changes are gradual, it doesn't just change in one day... Looks like you need to work on yourself if you're so worried about what the world thinks of you (cause it really doesn't)!
Btw, they've even mentioned Russian girls by calling them (us) prostitutes. So proud to be a part of this awesome show, so much diversity. So nice to watch it till I update my personal pricelist and drink vodka with Russian mafia :)
I'm surprised I haven't seen my No. 1 Cringe Moment: Miranda is so eager to be with Che that she breaks up with Steve, then immediately gets on an airplane headed for Cleveland to start her life as a lesbian. She doesn't even take the time to tell her son their family is no more. WTF!
Too bad that the next episode completely skipped over the results from the surprise trip! I want to know if MPK has lost his mind and isn’t paying attention to the show?
@@TrulyMademoizelle I know! Like she graduated or something LoL. It reminds me about Susan and Ross in Friends, when she says about lesbianism "Yeah, you have to take a course, otherwise they don't let you do it" LFMAO
It's so painful to watch the show consistently yell "LOOK! We're so old!" or "We're non-binary." Just BE old or LGBTQIA+, stop telling us that you are.
@@ka8204 My god... it's 2022, you'd think race would be used to tell their stories, not be used to aid in telling the white women's stories. Nya is there to seemingly teach Miranda how "not be a white savior" with some pregnancy issues sprinkled in, not at all looking deeper into her as a person. Lisa is there to be Charlotte's rich black friend... like what do we know other than that? Also, I appreciate them showing POC in positions of wealth since there was zero representation in the original, but again -- that's all they are here for, as though they have to be rich or well off in order for these women to associate with them. It's trying so hard to not be everything that was wrong in the original that its creating new problems instead.
@@kellielang9867 Yes! But those were riddled with issues. Samantha’s girlfriend Maria went from the calm, cool, collected artist to the “fiery latina” trope as soon as shit hit the fan. Miranda’s was problematic in the entire relationship basically being based off of him being a black man, minimizing him once again to his race as a sexual object; Sam did the same thing with the record producer, except that included his sister being used under the “angry black woman” stereotype.
The writers should have allowed Stanford to die on the show and give him the dignity his character deserved. Life is messy and ugly and Big and Stanford were large enough to each get their own ending that made more sense. I loved Stanford and the show did him wrong, so very wrong.
One of my favorites. There was an episode where he told Carrie he would get a big inheritance from his Grandmother when he married. I always thought Carrie and Stannie should have married, had their separate romantic lives, and lived happily ever after as best friends.
The entire show was loathsome. Jesus! Why didn't they call it "And Just Like That We Were Woke"? I hated it and I am so glad to see all these great comments!
We were not divided. We hated Che and her Che-ness in unanimity and consolidation and wait, we hated what Miranda did to Steve, in the very same spirit!
@@lisawentworth6831 hehe... true... but at least Che felt more for Steve's right to honesty than Miranda did for her husband of so many years. Now I am torn between who's worse Che or Cynthia (because that woman out there is certainly not the Miranda we knew)
The giant glasses, hip operations, bad knees, I'm old, we're old, you're old, hair colouring omg the list goes on why are they trying to ram the we are old now theme down our throats ? Jesus they are only in their 50s, replacing Stanny with Anthony, the way Stanford left, the way Samantha left such lazy writing, why is Steve like a hobbling 90 year old now ? EVERY single character having a woke counterpart now ... omg so many things bad about this series.
Compare these women to Regina King, Halle Berry, Regina Hall, Gabrielle Union--all in their 50s, and call them old. I dare you. The Golden Girls weren't even this ageist.
Anthony's lines about Charlotte's daughter were spot on. My child spent an entire year chastising anyone who misgendered her (she wanted to be "they/them") and quickly about faced to I'm a lesbian with she/her pronouns. All in her sophomore year. Kids/teens don't know what they want, they see something that fits their mood that day and run with it. All we can do as parents is support and talk with them. They'll figure it out eventually. But walking on eggshells as a way of support is just ridiculous. No child or teen knows exactly what they want at those ages.
1. The Whole Reboot 2. The Whole Reboot 3. All Che scenes 4. The whole Reboot 5. All Miranda scenes 6. The Whole Reboot 7. The whole reboot 8. Big's death 9. The Whole Reboot 10. The Whole Reboot
@@marnimatikka7833 and Smith could make an appearance, for a movie or something in London, and Samantha, seeing how he’s matured, is fighting the urge to get back together with him. 😉
This was absolutely perfectly written and voiced. You nailed every single point of where the reboot failed (and we collectively cringed). Tone deaf, inauthentic, and not staying true to the characters. Very very nice job! I’m not even going to hate watch season 2. It’s a mess.
Kim Cattrall is coming off like the queen she is bc she avoided this train wreck. The excuse they gave over why Samantha left is laziness on the part of writers. Samantha moved to LA in the movies so she was longer based in New York anyway, so they could’ve just written in that distance caused the friendship to wither away like it happens in real life. Or they could’ve written it in a way that is consistent with Samantha. I agree that the Che character is the worst of all. One of the first non binary characters on television and they make them vile. 🤮 And the actor Sara Ramirez who portrays Che said in an interview that non binary ppl are not monolithic. Sorry excuse. There was a missed opportunity to make a non binary character a great representation instead of the vile creep Che is. This show should’ve never been green lit in the first place, especially without Samantha. I hope SJP, Cynthia and Kristin enjoy their 10 million dollar pay bc they utterly destroyed the SATC legacy for the fans of the show. Long live Queen Kim
you think that they have to be some perfect saint bc they’re non binary?? it’s great that they were written to have flaws just as straight cis ppl have flaws.
@@basicallyapodcast5834 no. But make them more realistic and not vile. It's like back in the day when they bad guy was often either ugly or a person of color. She didn't need to be a saint. But make her not as vile as Carrie

Nah...if you look at the original series now, you'll think "Ick, how did I ever think this was a good show?" A lot of it was just Zeitgeist, a bubble. Time has moved on, and SATC hasn't aged well.
Cynthia nixon just managed to get pay to play her real life in this series I mean the Miranda from SATC would be absolutely appalled. Miranda is playing Cynthia not the other way around.
My biggest issue is Miranda, yes! They have completely erased her personality and character that we all admired. I’m Lgbt, but her being queer feels forced, but I’ll accept it. It’s just that we have lost all the qualities: strong, outspoken, professional, leadership, that made her a loveable character. You can be lgbtq, and have all Those qualities.
Also gay, and I agree, it was an awful way to end her relationship with Steve. I think Che's character is a jerk, and Miranda's character took a turn that I don't buy (she's cheating, so incredibly awkward and unsure, she's a total mess). The entire story line drives me nuts, I hope they split them up asap and she changes back to her old self, even if she continues to date lgbtq people/ identify as queer.
The scene where Miranda and Carrie kept saying "You still blow Harry?" The scene was a ridiculous representation of adult sex life. The characters are on their 50's not 80's!
@@cv8499 I meant towards the fact that Charlotte's daughter thought she was a boy. I think Charlotte thought that since he was part of the LGBTQ community he would back her up,but he was like,Nope.
He was totally right. This whole crap about the school trying to tell parents they should let her change her name and bologna is ridiculous. This whole show is beyond cringe
The original satc was written by true creative minds, but this is a horrible political propaganda piece that doesn't show real human behavior in life-like situations
The point about Che helping with Rock… That’s where they missed it. Take out the Miranda/Che storyline which completely disrespects Steve and their marriage. Instead, have Che walk Charlotte through how she can walk with her child/how she would want her parents to react. Makes so much more sense for a storyline.
That would have been a better angle, but honestly I don’t want a “Rock” or a “Che” storyline. No one asked for Che/ a love interest for Miranda and the Rock part was added just to be trendy. Seriously the percentage of actual transgender people in the world that are actually serious about it is so minute. Both characters we’re added/changed purely based on that and that is the extent of their characters, which is pretty sad. Same with the professor who is there to merely exist because she’s a black woman. These writers think they’re helping, but they’re actually hurting.
@@JennyofOldStones713 Oh, I agree with that too. They’re throwing every trendy “woke” moment out there in hopes to attract a new audience. I will say, the rumor is Cynthia Nixon asked to be gay since she is in real life. But when to do that would have been in the original series. Not 20+ years later after so many Steve/Miranda are meant to be storylines.
That's what I was thinking like after the comedy show I thought Charlotte was going to talk to Che and that Che was going to give her some advice but nope that didn't happen. It would have made so much sense, it's like you know this person probably the most helpful resource you have and you don't use it . Like what the heck
@@JennyofOldStones713 that's what I was thinking! I don't mind adding something more than just white heterosexuals to the show but they outdid themselves. I'm literally a leftie (politically speaking). I'm into human rights and etc etc. And even I don't have that many friends or even know of people that are transgender or gay or non binary. (I'm myself mixed black (from South America) and white Dutch) from the Netherlands. A rich white woman in the US is just much more likely to be surrounded by similar looking people and chances are much bigger that they would never ever be friends with a non-binary person. Not because they don't like them but they would just not meet them or have anything in common. The truth is people generally stick with their own. I'm not saying mixing can not happen. But that would much more likely happen at a younger age in college. Not at 55 all of a sudden going from 0 friends of colour or 0 trans friends to all of a sudden everyone they meet ticking one of those boxes. The idea of Che guiding Rock would be great. But indeed for now it's just characters ticking boxes instead of just being human beings with a life besides being just gay or black or both.
Anthony's comment about Rock was NOT cringe, it was spot-on. It was actually the one moment in these earlier that have me hope not all was lost in this show. SATC always went against the cultural / politically correct grain, and raised questions that weren't easy or comfortable to answer. That was the greatest thing about it. This spin-off series just shows how terrified the entertainment industry is to have a point of view these days.
Right! The show is SWIMMING in cringe & they pick possibly the ONLY actually insightful, smart moment! How'd i forget, msmojo is always disappointing, yet i slip up & click thinking 'oh, they can't botch THIS, surely!'
Anthony actually had the right reaction to Charlotte. Kids change all the time; let them express themselves, but don't completely indulge it all. Kids need boundaries
although he was a little rough (that's completely in character, tbh), he was mostly sensible. Kids shouldn't be ignored when they are trying to express their feelings, but at the same time kids still have a hard time expressing clearly what they feel, so all shouldn't be taken literally, at face value. Also, feelings change. They could have taken the chance to show a case of a parent respecting and listening to a child's concerns and feelings, without validating the feelings and turning them into fact in seconds, or instead pretending nothing is happening. But no, they decided to do... something else...
I hope this turns into a Steve true crime tale where he cleverly siphons all their money and assets before divorcing Miranda, leaving her penniless as he moves to the Bahamas with his new girlfriend.
I would rather watch that ANY day. I wish he would find his old girlfriend Debbie and move her into their home. I wish Miranda's flight to Cleveland would have been hijacked to Zimbabwe and she was taken into the jungle never to be heard from again.
Just finished the series and I just felt patronised the whole way through. Every single episode had something to do with gender, race…we got it after the first couple minutes that they wanted to be more inclusive. We got it! I wish they had just stuck to the story lines instead of trying to prove they are inclusive of everything, or trying to teach the viewer to be inclusive of everything. We didn’t need a TV show to teach us things we already know and accept…we just wanted a TV show. I’m really hoping season 2 is better and they got this approach well and truly out of their system. How did nobody watch this back and think, yea I think we overdid this, let’s drop this now and just tell the story. Even managed to get mansplaining in there. 🤦🏼♀️
I liked the moment with Anthony though. I myself was fantasizing at some point of my childhood that I want to be a boy. I played with boys, loved boy toys, looked like a boy, all my favorite heroes were boys, etc.. I even had a boyish nickname. But if I changed my gender - well that could have been a huuuuge mistake. You cannot make such crucial decisions when you are a child because you just don't understand lots of things.
You realize that the "transition" at 12 years old would simply be a name change and clothing changes right? If they suffer from dysporia maybe puberty blockers which simply turn off puberty and are not permanent (stop taking them and you continue with pubert). They're not only used on trans kids, but kids with precocious puberty too And you can't be legally on hormones until you get a ton of counseling and are so dysphoric you can't function in life
But one individual experience can't apply for lots of little people, changing gender is not about just want it, people got to the psicológist to verify what's going on on the childs minds to see if that's what the child really want and if he understands all stuff that you didn't by the time
*Dishonorable Mention: NOT mentioning Magda or Mary!! Especially Magda. RIP* 💝 I think this series tried to portray how middle-aged women become "Karens". The problem with that is that most* of us who were born in the 70s were raised with Apartheid and Equality/AIDS. We actually know how to treat ppl with respect. I'm rewatching the Golden Girls; it's a better representation of aging and finding purpose as an empty-nester than this!
Yes! They're prejudice against middle-aged women by generalizing them as all Karen's. None of these characters would have become Karen's later in life. They were all progressive and liberal Karens are political, they're Far Right people
Golden Girls will forever be in rotation for me. How can a show that's been off the air for decades handle topics like race, LGBTQIA+,classism, and ageism better then AJLT?
I guess it's best to just pretend that this series is a whole different universe/canon than the original series or even the movies. Otherwise things doesn't really make sense.
I just hope that Miranda learns that lust and novelty are temporary at the end of the day you just want to be with that person who understands you and makes you feel good despite everything
I actually agreed with Anthony. He wasn’t dismissing Rock he’s just saying children go through phases and we shouldn’t feed into it. Let Rock figure it out as she grows up.
@@nicolehall694 I’m not male or gay and I feel that way. I just think we are pandering to children too much these days. Children flip from one thing to the next. I can’t imagine a school changing a child’s name because they want to. That’s crazy

Almost this whole show is cringe this it isn't anywhere close to the original show hell the movies were better than this show Oh and Che is so forced, unnecessary and absolutely painfully unfunny
The movies were painfully boring and shitty too... Why do they have to ruin the show? Especially Miranda's character. She used to be my favorite, but I hate her in the movies and in this crap as well...
I really don't understand why the writers didn't bring in an actual comedian to write actual jokes for Che--preferably one who's queer. Did they not know how to reach Tig Notaro? Or they could have just made Che a motivational speaker and stop trying to make fetch happen.
Thank you for reminding me WHY I haven't watched tv/cable/streaming, or went to the movies in over a decade. Its ALL GARBAGE, and nothing like real life.
David Eigenberg was probably better off staying away in Chicago Fire if they were doing Steve that dirty. Also they write Che so terribly, like a character they were forced to add yet they hate.
I like Anthony's part though, Rose is still a kid, a sourdough starter and not yet fully baked so you'll never know what she'll turn into... And eventhough you don't feel like a girl, it doesn't mean that you should also forget about deodorant...
The fashion should've been on the list or as an honorary mention. Its been severely lacking in all the episodes. The main creative force behind the great fashion in the show and the movies was Patricia Fields and since she left it feels like they gave up. She's working on Emily in Paris now and its like all the good fashion moments went to that show.
Yep! The fashion in this reboot is godawful. And it serves as yet another reminder that the writers want to know these ladies are OLD. (In case we missed the 1,000 mentions of age.) It's like they're afraid to have any of them show their arms or neck or legs. It all looks so frumpy and bizarre for women who were usually very stylish.
Good god, it’s awful. Whoever is dressing Charlotte needs to tell her that shoehorning her into a 6 when she’s an 8 makes her look like a can of busted biscuits. She’s not overweight nor does she look bad in any way, but she’s obviously gained a few pounds. Not sure why Carrie, who can’t be bigger than a designer 4 has to have all her party dresses hidden under oversized blazers. They all need haircuts. Every cut and color makes them look frumpy. Carrie and Charlotte had shorter hair in the series and even then it made them look modern and young. Miranda either needs a whispy shoulder length with side band and some damn color or a pixie. Just because hair goes gray doesn’t mean you just accept it if it washes you out like it does her.
THATS NOT A SARI! 😂 Carrie isn't wearing a sari, thats a lehenga. What Seema was wearing was a sari! Sorry I just had to correct it haha! Edit: a lot of people think that her wearing the lehenga was wrong? NO!! Its a beautiful lehenga and it was appropriate for the occasion too. She just kept calling it a sari 😂
@@monicareliford4912 it doesn't matter. Lehenga and Sari both are festive wear. And it's not mandatory to wear anything festive on Diwali. We wear whatever we like tbh, I have worn jeans and a kurta, it's all cool 😂

@@Oxymoric I don’t know if it was in select places but no not where I live. Trans were called transvestites or trannys and they were just men that wore pantyhose and women’s clothes and they considered themselves men still and they weren’t trying to pass as looking like an actual women. Also I remember when me and my friends first heard the T and were confused why “trannys” were being lumped in with it because LGB was a sexuality and trans were just men that wore women’s clothes and not in a drag kind of way.
When I was 19, I had my wisdom teeth removed and my whole mouth became inflamed. Watching what the producers did to the original series is more painful.
Enough with the 'old' already. Geez, you'd think they were ready for the nursing home, especially poor Steve. I'm 52, and it's so ridiculous, I'm not even offended. Wouldn't it be cool if Samantha had her own show with excellent writers! She's 10 years older than these doofuses, and we know she'd still be a Queen!
This is the cringiest show I’ve ever seen. Though the most cringy line in existence is “here’s Che Diaz” 🥴🥴🥴🥴. I feel like it has poor writing and the forced wokeness is too much. I also don’t like how the spoke badly about Russian women and I’m not even Russian. Please get rid of “Miranda” (or whatever is left of her) and Che, that forced woke character is unnecessary.
While I agreed with most of these choices being cringeworthy, I appreciated how Anthony dealt with the Charlotte and Rock situation. Charlotte is so high-strung and rigid it was nice to see Anthony sort of reign her back in. Telling her not to trip about it especially because Rock is so young...who knows what she'll become was the right way to go for that situation. Charlotte is a control freak. She needed to be checked that way in that moment.
Why the hell is Miranda's son's girlfriend even living at their house? It's so many cringe-worthy moments that I can't even write this without cringing.
Tbh i think the Charlotte storyline regarding her trying to forcibly "diversify" her friend group could have been cringey in a way that was funny, but since the rest of the show was packed full with cringey forced social justice jokes and lectures that landed extremely poorly it also didn't land. Also.. yeah, Che's character was a missed opportunity. Real nonbinary people don't center every single topic of conversation and interaction around the fact that they're nonbinary.. the same with cis people, trans people, straight people, gay people, etc. They're just people. The show needed better plotlines. They could have explored gender identity in a much better way.

Yep, these are pretty spot on.
(Rant for another day)
Hello ? Where is Aiden? John Corbett said he would be on the show.
Maybe she has early onset dementia since she is so old
Every scene with her professor makes me cringe.

Very good idea! Kim Catrell dodged a machine gun spray of bullets!
They should have hired you to write this much better reason!

Why did they make Brady so awful? I thought he was going to grow up to be a really sweet guy especially having Steve as his father.
It made me feel better about my kids. 😅
Brady is dumb. I wish he was in boarding school.
Because Miranda was the mother. Steve was always Miranda's punching bag and quite frankly, too good for her.
Because Miranda is awful.
Apparently, he takes after his mother.🤣
The worst part for me is that they destroyed these character’s careers…Why couldn’t they make Miranda start her own law firm focused on fighting criminal law justice and stuff, and Carrie starting her own fashion company or becoming Vogue boss. Instead they made a badass SATC Miranda an insecure 50-year old student and the 90s it girl Carrie an unimportant character in some podcast?!
That podcast is one of the most cringiest things
Those would have been much better plot lines
Yeah, and moreover Miranda seems to be having a drinking problem these days...
Agreed. Great point. ugh
Yes!
The most annoying part of the constant "I'm old!!!" dialogue is that the writers think the audience are the ones obsessed with age. The writers are the ones who wrote it in so much that if you based a drinking game on it you'd destroy your liver.
I saw several comments, articles and videos making fun of SJP for not having more surgeries or "stop trying".
@@bigsistahtips I mostly see people saying: where's the fun, why does everyone act like they are 80 year olds

@@luchie2388 lmao good point 😂
Miranda was a street smart New York attorney. Her interaction in the classroom the first day was ridiculous and not at all Miranda. She is way smarter and aware than that!
they made her like a dumb white chick, it was sickening.
They made Miranda unrecognizable. Beside her awkward racial issues, her personality has been written terribly. Miranda in SATC didn’t stumble on her words, didn’t rely on others opinions so much, and didn’t smile so much
about feelings.

Her storyline with Che just doesn't make any sense.

He absolutely said the right thing. Most gay men would say the same.
Right, and his character was never politically correct he just says what he thinks. I’m glad they didn’t change him.

Thank you for saying it - 100% right! Anthony's reaction was actually one rare example of the show conveying common sense vs the woke box-check.
Is anyone going to talk about Carrie’s complete lack of reaction to Big’s death?
Oh don't get me started. They're so woke they're afraid to mention his name. He's innocent until proven guilty. Why can't they differentiate between the actual man and the actor who is saying the made up written lines?
Right ? And why is Mr Big kept inside of a BOX. She doesn't even display his urn

The fact that there was a limited number of episodes contributed to these flaws. Not enough time allotted to develop these scenes properly.

Well, some of us do need hip surgery at an earlier age.
Health problems don’t start after a certain age. Besides, it was a congenital problem.
They could’ve used this reboot as a way to show how you can thrive in your 50s, but nope they’re all just sad and confused
I was just about to comment on the same thing and saw yours.👏🏾
You failed.
Anthony's response re Rose was the one good thing in the entire show.

Samantha should get her own show
Now that I’d watch!
In London!
@@marnimatikka7833 and Smith could make an appearance, for a movie or something in London, and Samantha, seeing how he’s matured, is fighting the urge to get back together with him. 😉
I'd watch that instead of this.
She doesn't want to play Samantha anymore so why the fuck would that happen.
@@jennyfab312 my comment got deleted by accident ughhh but they def weren’t vile at all just a horrible comedian being validated by all their peers and “fans.” like everyone thought they were the most hilarious person ever
Unfortunately, a lot of shows throw shade against actors/actresses who refuse to come back or leave the show *rolls eyes* it is so unprofessional

Honestly, after every episode of this disaster, I have to go back and watch a few episodes of the original series just to feel normal.
Lmao. I agree
Same!
Nah...if you look at the original series now, you'll think "Ick, how did I ever think this was a good show?" A lot of it was just Zeitgeist, a bubble. Time has moved on, and SATC hasn't aged well.
I did the same 😂😂

As a person of color... I prefer the old version of Sex and the city...
Cynthia nixon just managed to get pay to play her real life in this series I mean the Miranda from SATC would be absolutely appalled.
Miranda is playing Cynthia not the other way around.
good point!
Agreed!
Nailed it
FACTS!!!!!!
You're right!
You can be lgbtq, and have all
Those qualities.
I agree, seems forced.
I agree. They completely forced it, and in return, it took away the seriousness and just kind of turned it into a joke. I was very disappointed.
I read somewhere she refused to do the new show unless they introduced new woke characters
Why did they get so old in 7 yrs? Sam was 50 in 2014 and Carrie 41? 7 yrs later and she'd only be 48. They aged them in dog years.
Can we get a top 10 cringiest Che Diaz moments?🤡
Just 10?
I can’t!!!!
It would be every scene!!
🤣
How TF you tell someone you're in love with them then say, you're not my gf?? 🤡 Che sounds more like a man
I am really displeased at how they portrayed Samantha as a drama queen. She was the realest out of all of them.
The scene where Miranda and Carrie kept saying "You still blow Harry?" The scene was a ridiculous representation of adult sex life. The characters are on their 50's not 80's!
If anything I feel Anthony was the most authentic one.
Totally, he hasn't changed!
Agreed. Although his reaction to Stanford leaving was a big non-reaction too.
I thought I was the only one that didn't like Che.....and then I checked the internet
I really like the actress but the character is awful. She deserved better
I don't think anyone likes her.
I liked her. I thought she was hot. But her character was lame.
same here.. just an obnoxious character in my opinion!
Che is a reliant on drugs person with unsolved issues, not the best advice for parenting.
Congrats on only picking 10. The entire series has been a never ending stream of cringe.
💯💯💯💯
Agreed. This video is woke 😅
@@Hiddenplace414 right, so over it!!!😣😣😣 This comment is vastly underrated...lol
The whole series is so woke it's cringe... it almost feels like they're censoring every comment because of a woke dictatorship
Thank you for this comment! Some common sense in this world!
Agree 100%.
Exactly!
Exactly they change their minds every day
although he was a little rough (that's completely in character, tbh), he was mostly sensible.
10/10 would watch that rather than this current dumpster fire of a show
I would rather watch that ANY day. I wish he would find his old girlfriend Debbie and move her into their home. I wish Miranda's flight to Cleveland would have been hijacked to Zimbabwe and she was taken into the jungle never to be heard from again.
@@ladyditn1239 😂😂
Beer, beets, and Battlestar Galactica amirite? 😎
Side note Carrie choosing to basically pee on herself vs just telling felt very childish.
Well she didn't call 911 when her husband was dying right in front of her so not speaking up when she should is a pattern for her
Carrie is really childish tho
literally.
Exactly ‼️
I wouldn’t risk damaging the surgery she had, I would have said something out loud rather than spray everything though!
They're not only used on trans kids, but kids with precocious puberty too
And you can't be legally on hormones until you get a ton of counseling and are so dysphoric you can't function in life
Agreed. I thought his suggested handling it was correct. Don't berate her or belittle Rose, but don't let tween melodramas dominate or dictate things.
But one individual experience can't apply for lots of little people, changing gender is not about just want it, people got to the psicológist to verify what's going on on the childs minds to see if that's what the child really want and if he understands all stuff that you didn't by the time
@@ftlalov Utter nonsense. Psychologist my ass

*Dishonorable Mention: NOT mentioning Magda or Mary!! Especially Magda. RIP* 💝
I think this series tried to portray how middle-aged women become "Karens".
They were all progressive and liberal
Karens are political, they're Far Right people
So sick of the ‘Karen’ word

I don’t know why but considering what Miranda and Steve went through in the movie I just can’t picture her cheating in general
That just shows Miranda was a hypocrite.

It broke my heart that it came back the way it is. It makes me feel like the show and movies I LOVED for so many years was a lie.
I don't think there was a moment that wasn't cringe-worthy. It's every minute of every episode for me.
Not really. Most of Emily In Paris'fashion is absolutely horrendous. So it probably would've still sucked.
They ruined Miranda’s character.
THATS NOT A SARI! 😂 Carrie isn't wearing a sari, thats a lehenga. What Seema was wearing was a sari! Sorry I just had to correct it haha!

What Anthony said about Charlotte’s daughter is probably the sanest thing a character on this show has ever said!

I'm so with you! 😳
Why the hell is Miranda's son's girlfriend even living at their house? It's so many cringe-worthy moments that I can't even write this without cringing.
"Fans were divided" over Miranda and Che is the nicest way to put it.
